Getting warmer now. Hoping can get them outside soon. These are long flowering "super autos" so I might even experiment with topping and cloning a couple and see what happens.
Moved outside today! One went into a 15 gal pot the other 3 might go in the ground next week. They are in gallon pots. Once the spots are prepped they will get buried. I haven't ever grown a "super auto" as these are classified. Just wanted to experiment with some big outdoor sativa strains. Check out my other outdoor diary growing Cold Thunder!
Weather has not been nice but since my last harvest was done this week, there is room in the tent for all the girls. Temps dropping into the low 30s for the next few days so they will be under the 600 watt m.h. til the cold snap ends. They got some rain before the cold came so I haven't fed or watered much. That will be changing this week..
Moved back outside for the duration now. 2 are in 15+ gallon pots and 2 will go in the ground this week. Topped 2 to experiment with cloning these super autos... we'll see what happens. The one that has been in a big pot for a couple weeks is really taking off now. Roots looked nice and white. Just hoping for plenty of sunshine and nice weather now. I've amended the soil they are in with some doctor earth organic fertilizer. Will be upping the nutes next week also. Time to push into flower.
Wet rainy week here. They are growing well still. 2 were topped about 12 days ago and are really shooting out the lower branches. Wanted to leave a couple untapped to compare. I made 2 clones from tops but only 1 rooted... hoping for things to dry out. Would like to put at least 1 in the ground at some point but they are all now putting out some pistols... gonna start easing them into the bloom nutes asap.
Well I was too busy to update last week. It has been hot and rainy here for almost the last 2 weeks. One of the 2 in large pots must have caught some wind and snapped the main stem. It will live on but gonna need some love. Started seeing preflower in the other plant in a large pot last week... the 2 that got topped are still in 7 gallon fabric pots and looking healthy as can be... maybe starting signs of preflower. Gonna start adding some bloom nutes this week and clean up the area where they sit. Weeds have been growing like crazy...
Got behind again on these outdoor diaries but they have been doing well. They last 2 that were still in 7 gallon pots were transplanted.. one into an old washing machine tub of about 18 gallon capacity. The other was just buried halfway in its fabric pot into a hole prepared with a mix of potting and garden soil. Those are the ones that were topped, well the other was the one that had the main branch snapped off. Has really recovered nicely! One is looking pretty wierd tho like it re-vegged idk. Cant tell what the issue is but I'm considering scrapping the whole thing. It only is about 2 feet tall. Worried about it being hermie and wrecking the rest. We'll see
Hot still. Rains have dried up so it's time to feed feed feed. All showing good pistils. The wierd one hasn't grown in some time probly gonna scrap it for years of a hermie plant... especially since I did root one clone off a top weeks ago. It's in the fabric pot doing well. They are primed to bud bud bud now! Hope time wont be a factor as these take a long time to flower
Mostly water this week so ready to feed em well. Gonna be fighting the insects now. The one that was wierd has been quarantined probly will scrap it idk. Have the clone to replace it. Sorry the pics aren't easy to see really. They are in a fenced in enclosure with vines growing up on the north side for cover so if makes getting a pic of the whole plant hard. They all seem to be ready to bloom. Will probly do some defoliation this week.
These sativas are going to take their sweet time I fear. Going on 15 weeks from germination. Super autos indeed I guess. Starting to form budsites and they are thirsty. All are about 6 ft tall except the clone in the 7 gallon pot. Need to get going on support trellis this week for sure.
Been dry and hot so they have been drinking a ton. Wish I had gotten more preventive pest spraying done because these damn orange worms boring thru then stems are causing some serious damage and rot. Anybody have advice on stopping them? I fear it may be to late for the one with all the yellow dead leaves... we use to call em thc worms but I'm sure it something in its larval stage idk. Cant seem to find exactly what they are. Help! ✌️🧙♂️
