Dad teaches me Blackjack

Hello GrowDiaries. Apparently I come from a family of growers. Stepdad (BudXs) showed me his room when i turned 18 a few months ago, and i immediately became an heir to the gift of growing. Will be growing Blackjack, a mostly sativa strain gifted to our family from GD user BeansWithPork - thank you! Dad will be showing me the basics, my diary will be showing you what I learn. This week was officially the start of the grow season. 6 fem seeds were popped using the paper towel and ziplock method. Stepdad said to hang them on the wall and the tap roots would grow straight down, and they did. Planted after 72 hours germ, 100% popped. Blackhack had a 1" root. Seeds were planted into soiless mix in solo cups with drainage holes. Lights arrived this week from CHYYYYYNA. Two 240w lm301h quantum boards will light up these 6 girls. Im hoping to steal a bit of extra light from the 4x8 beside me Just waiting now

This week the plant has grown large enough to put into its final container. I am using a 3 gallon pot with a homemade sticker and soilless mix. At transplant I watered with ph'd water and a small amount of veg vitamins. This plant will be grown with 5 others under 480w quantam board

This week has been good. The outside temps have raised, as well as the humidity, so rh is steady at about 45% Lights were cranked to full intensity, still sitting well above the plant. No burning, so things are going good I gradually increased the amount of feed and water this week. The roots are sucking the medium dry in about 3 days

Its crazy how much difference a week can make. I only post once a week so the growth is so awesome!! Nirvana seeds, you got me like Teen Spirit I topped the plant at the third node, looking to get it bushy and will be doing some lst when the branches come out a bit. Running Co2 while the lights are on and it stinks like a brewery Cant wait to see what this plant does. So far, my first attempt is going well

Things are going good. Plant is lush green and no signs of deficiencies at all. Good size and structure compared to the other plants im growing beside it. Everytime I look at the Nirvana label, it remonds me of the song Breed by Nirvana: Even if you have Even if you need I don't mean to stare We don't have to breed We could plant a house We could build a tree I don't even care We could have all three Feeding veg nutes and Cal Mag at water PH'd at 5.8. Fuck yeah, last week of veg. Giving this bad girl the flip in a day or two. Will defoliate heavily and open up the bud sites to the light. Cannot f'n wait for my first ever flowers. Thank you once again to BeansWithPork for gifting this genetic to my dad

First day of flower was June 2, my first "flip" ever!!!! Hand watering her every 3 days or so, whenever the pot is light. 5.8 ph and some bloom and calmag. I defoliated heavy on F1 and will do so again on F21. The growback of fan leaves in 3.5 days is insane Counting down the days till harvest, 9 more weeks doesnt actually seem so bad when this is soooo much fun!!!! This plant seems to be thicker than the FFT's im growing beside it. Will be interesting to compare

Flowering day 11 for the Nirvana blackjack, and what a bush she is becoming. Layers of nodes and leaves like sharks teeth. Cant wait till F21 to defoliate again and get some light on those bud stalks Feeding at 1800EC every 3 days or so, full soak hand water. Room is clear of pests, and aside from the odd twisted leaf, cant say I have seen any deficiencies. Big thanks to BeanswithPork for this genetic. Wouldnt have it without him Thanks for looking

Some massive stretch and some really bushy growth this week in the Blackjack and with all the FFT testers she hangs with. Growth is healthy, waterings are every 3 days or so by hand and with 1900 Ec feed at 5.8ph. Almost ran out of headroom for the girls, but moved things around to accommodate. Really digging the first grow, cant wait to finally taste this. Days seem like years

Blackjack! By BeanswithPork, also by Nirvana. She is a beauty and growing just as well as her mates. The pistils on this plant look absolutely intense and the crystals are beginning to form. This wil be my first ever harvest if all Bloom booster was added this week to get all the potential out of this strain

Just a beautiful plant, perfect symmetry and a luscious smell. This will be my first ever harvest and I cannot wait. Will finish a little later than the FT's its growing beside, but that just means it will have all the light in its final couple weeks. Cant wait till she reveals her colors. Thanks for looking

This is the prettiest plant I have ever seen in my life. The pics tell a thousand words. The smell is absolute y delicious, and the stickiness is insane. Have fed more bud booster and bud sweetener this week. This is the only plant in the garden that showed a bit of K toxicity, even though it was fed along the same regiment as others. Want to taste this so bad! looks like another 3 to 4 weeks at least though (according to dad)

This gifted fem seed from BeanswithPork has turned out to be a real winner. It has some of the prettiest colors in the garden and boasts rock hard sugary nugs. Will be my very first harvest and I am luck to own such a cultivar. Plant is healthy with the exception of a bit of leaf spotting/rust. Getting the same feed regiment as all others, so I suppose that this strain is a bit more vulnerable to less than perfect feed schedule. Thanks for looking

Day 47 and the crystals are poppin! The colors of orange and red on this plant are beautiful compared to the plants it grows beside. Not sure on aroma yet, but certainly pleasant, and a lot of really sticky buds. Cut the nutes down to nearluy nothing to round out week 7. Will be flushing here on out as the fall fade comes on

Oh the colors!!!!! This is a gorgeous cultivar from a good Canadian friend BeanswithPork. The trichs are beginning to turn and I am full of excitement to harvest my first plant. Looks to be about 10 days out, according to my dad, so we will let nature tell us exactly when to act. Hopefully, next update is the harvest. Sitting pretty at day F53

I am only days away from the chop. Crystals are 30% amber and I am getting my gloves preparred. This is a stick as plant!!! Almost a shame to chop a thing of such beuaty, but we all knew this day was coming. This will be my very first harvest, I am having a friend come over to set up hi res photos. First of all, a big thank you to @BeanswithPork. He gifted this cultivar to my dad, who has a special place in his heart for Blackjack the game. Secondly, I am blessed to have such great results for my first grow ever. This plant was grown under the guide of my dad @Budxs and I learned a bunch from hi m this year. I have just smoked the first taste of this after a weks cure and I can rank it up there with some of the best weed I have ever smoked in my life. The taste is just perfect, citrusy and a bit fruity. The high is immediate and seems to be uplifting and makes me giggle. I live this stuff and I will grow more!!! Thank you to all for following, it has been a blast.
