Greetings to everyone. Thought I'd give doing a clone diary for a change. I'm a complete novice at this so please be gentle with me for all the mistakes I am making. I have cut 10 clones from the bottom up with the small cutting being in the rock cubes and the larger ones in the small pots.
Cuttings taken using a new scalpel to keep everything sterile as possible. The larger cuttings in the pots have two nodes in the ground where as the rock cubes only one. Will that make a difference to rooting ?
All I know about cloning has been gained from Youtube videos so blame them 😂
I hope to get at least 50% established with about a four to six week veg before flower time.
Saturday 25th April.
Still alive and still green looking. Only a few drops of water being used to keep humidity up. I am using glass jars to act as a propagator for the high humidity and hope that this time next week we have roots that are visible. Just ph'd water and will be for the week.
Week 2
Tuesday 28th April. Start of the new week and all clones look to still be alive!!!! I've taken the jars away now so no increased humidity now back down to 60 - 70% RH hope that they don't get shocked by it.Only ph'd water being added until they get repotted into 10l pots which hopefully will be in a few weeks time. Cant think of what to do to try and help so Im being patient and watching only for a change not tempted to over water.
A few hours after I had taken the jars off the clones I noticed a few of the cuttings wilting so I have replaced the jars and the ladies are starting to pick up again. So I will leave the jars on for another week of higher humidity hoping all the time that the pesky roots establish themselves quickly. The good thing is that mistake has been quickly rectified now and I now will leave cutting for two weeks under a dome/jar for humidity.
Its good for learning and hope anyone reading this also learns from my experience after all thats why we do these diaries to help others👍
Saturday 2nd May. All good today, jars removed and plants have not wilted this time so Im thinking the roots have established themselves and the ladies are now putting on some new growth.
Week 3
Tuesday 5th May. Gently does it this week just again a drop of water with 1% Take Root is all the ladies will get this week. The little rock cube cuttings will be potted into smaller pots hopefully this week and maybe the larger ladies but I'm more inclined to do repotting the week after with a week getting established before moving onto the flower tent. Well thats my hopes for this week but thats very fluid as I have all the time in the world under lockdown.😂
Wednesday 6th May. Just checked the pots and roots were appearing in the larger cuttings so as you see they have been potted up now. One has had to go straight into the flower tent in a small pot as I have not got the room as I'm waiting to harvest in there this week and next week. I wasn't expecting to be as successful in taking the cutting but thats okay I can live with that. I have also potted up the rock cube cuttings and these spare ones are going to be given away so no waste. I will continue to water with Take Root for the week before staring the nutrient schedule.
Week 4
Tuesday 12th May.
As you can see all the ladies seem to have survived potting and are now just vegging for a week before they go to their flower tent. I have also now added in the supplementary feeding at a low percent which in time will increase depending upon the ladies. So all in all quite chuffed with myself that all the clone/cuttings have survived and that I am not a mass clone killer😂
Week 5
Thursday 21st May. Just ph'd water this week and some of the bigger ones moved to the flower tent now also on ph'd water for the week.
Wednesday 27th May. As you can see I have now moved what I can to the flowering tent........well its not really a tent its a built in wardrobe lined with Black/White plastic sheets total costs of £5 thats the price of the plastic sheets and sticky tape. Not bad compared to something over £200 for the same size tent but I digress 😂 Only four clone cutting left in the veg tent one will be a mother now and the other three given away. Nutrient feed will now start to increase as I push towards harvest time hopefully in ten to twelve weeks.
Week 6
Friday 29th May. The clones are now just doing their thing and will be defoliated again soon as I know that without some work these can get very big and wild. In the flowering wardrobe I have all clones grown by myself for the first time no bought seeds. So we could say I am am fully self sufficient for weed now.😂
There are ladies there of differing stages so should get a regular harvest every couple of weeks in the future well thats my intention. Best laid plans and all that might say otherwise but Im trying and aiming for a regular two week harvest which should see me never to go near a dealer every again👍
Wednesday 3rd June. Clear out of the clones. Only 10 clones left in the flowering wardrobe. Managed to give the veg clones away. So now have space in the tent to start something, but I don't know what as yet. Fancy something heavy hitting but not sure what heard Californian snow is a good lady but will see where I can get some from. Week 7 will soon be upon us and there's nothing to alter really just pushing up the nutrients and as you can see haven't a clue when things will harvest but thats good for me as I can crop when I think they are right and not some schedule that peeps adhere strictly too which I not always think gets you the best as too many seem to crop early. Till the next posting👍
Week 7
Friday 5th June. Noticed a bit of cal/mag deficiency in the ladies so time to up that. I noticed that the odd leaf was starting to get small brown rust spots so hopefully I have caught it in time and by this time next week no brown and lovely green leaves. The flowering wardrobe is stocked waiting harvest now as you can see and all at different stages.
Thursday 11th June. The increase in cal/mag seems to have solved my problem with rusty small brown spots appearing on the odd leaf. So it is carry on feeding and waiting now. Seems like I have been here before😂
Week 10.
Sunday 28th June. Start of the new week. Looking at the mother plants that were put in at the time of the clones it will be soon that they are harvested. Weather conditions a bit barmy here very humid one minute then dry heat so checking tent conditions daily. The ladies are very thirsty at the moment so think it may be time to pushing bud fattening on the mothers for two weeks.
Week 12.
Sunday 12th July. Well I'm now pushing Ripen for a week as I think they are nearly there. Will be giving a weeks flush also. So chopping all the clones in two weeks. So it will be time to start the next generation of seedlings soon as I will have a bit of room in my wardrobe😂
