GHSC Competition First Grow

Dupo_1 Hello everyone and welcome to my very first grow and of course my first growdiaries. I'm really excited to be doing this in conjunction with Green House seeds Co and Growdiaries for this wonderful opportunity and competition. I will be growing one of there newest strains bring old school to modern westcost USA - bubba slush (pre 98 bubba kush x gelato) Of course the nutrients i will be using will be Green House powder feeding BoiGrow, BioBloom and Enhancer The medium I'm using is a mix of 5 parts of potting compost 1 part of high quality top soil and two parts perlite. I also mixed in BoiGrow to the soil at a mix of 3g per 1 liter of soil. I may have to add more on week five to eight as I'm growing outside and it will take longer then eight weeks for the longest day of the year to come around and kick start the flowering. I wiil just have to see and adjust as I we go along. To germinate the seed I left it in a small cup mix of water and enhancer 0.5g-1L for 12 hours and then placed it into a paper towel with the same solution for another 24-36 hours. By now the tap root was three times longer then the seed so I popped it into the soil and lightly misted with water. Less than 72 hours it had popped its head above soil and within the next 24 it dropped its seed husk. Week one down and going really well. I'm really excited to be involved in this competition.. This strain! this type of feeding and definitely keeping it simple.. JUST ADD WATER.. Stay safe everyone

Dupo_1 Hello Everyone This week went smoothly I increased the water amount as necessary and everything seems to be going fine. Two days ago over night a small yellowish area on one leaf appeared. (visible in photo) I'm unsure of what this is, iv been researching as much as I can to find out what it's from and to be honest I'm still unsure. It's really small and hard to diagnose at this stage. It has not spread at all since iv first noticed it and the plant is growing the same amount each day since. Hopefully this is nothing to serious and I will figure it out. I'm really enjoying this and learning loads

Dupo_1 Hello Everyone and welcome to week 3 This week has not been the best weather wise. The temperatures stayed in a mild range so didn't get two cold but was overcast most of the week with high winds for over 24 hours, so not the best growing conditions. This is all part of growing outside. Due to this the feeding stayed in the same area as last week but I did give it its first feed today of Green House Seeds Enhancer with a mix of 0.5g/1Lt of water a gave it 300ml. This seamed to be a reasonable amount for the 7.5Lt pot and size of the plant. Obviously there was no run off. Beside the weather this week everything is going well, plant is healthy with a lovely color. Thank you again Green House Seeds for this opportunity and for everyone else for checking out my grow...

Dupo_1 Hello Everyone and welcome to week four of my Bubbaslush by Green House Seeds This week everything went well with wonderful weather the whole week. Watering quantity has been increased and everything looks healthy. Now what I'm trying to figure out is what type or style of growing I will do with this. I will almost certainly do LST but wether to top or mainline I'm unsure. With the growth so far mainlining probably is not the best but iv seven weeks of veg left so that could change over the next few weeks. Any input or suggestions are welcome. Only problem was I lost my mid-week pictures and a grasshopper had a visit but didn't do any damage. So all is well.. Thanks for checking out my grow..

Dupo_1 Hello Everyone and welcome to week five of my Bubbaslush by Green House Seeds Right where to start... I took on this opportunity, project and competition because last year I became really quite sick. Iv been in and out of hospital continuously, passed from specialist to specialist with still no end in sight. I suffer from a few problems but over all I live with chronic pain and panic attacks. I have been prescribed all sorts which honestly is devastating and add to my problems. I have taken a stand to not take any of these drugs as being terribly sick isn't enough but to become a victim to opioids and antidepressants is what I need. All I want is to get back to my life and live it. I took this on because its less dangerous and still being not to kosher it starts and ends with me. All said this week I was in hospital for three days and when I came home excited to see how the plants were doing and this one is now sick. It definitely hit harder after getting bad news already. All I can say it it didn't get to hot or soil didn't dry out while I was away. I posted my first growers question showing the problem on last week's diary. A kind grower named Fruitgrower responded saying it could be nutrient water splash or lacking calcium. I don't spray so it would have to be needing calcium if this is correct. I have fed it a small quantity of Canna calmag agent to see if it responds well. I hope this this helps and she pulls threw as its given me something pleasant to focus on and look forward to. Dupo_1 Hello Everyone and welcome to week six of my Bubbaslush by Green House Seeds I'm happy to say that whatever was causing this one problems seamed to have stopped and the new growth is looking healthy. Sadly its not the prettiest right now over the damage but I'm sure it will look great again in no time. The worst thing about this is not knowing what happened. I have also started LST on this and it has respond well. The timing is also good as there's a few node's and the side branching is starting to grow. This is the first time I've tried LST and my approach is to try and twist the stalk before bending to try and put the lateral fibers in a more flexible construct like rope. I repeat this process up the plant to try and get each node flat. I don't know if this is the way others do it but I believe that it will help not crack or split the plant while growing. The weather was not the best so feeding was not increased over last and was just given plain water. Thanks again for checking out my Growdiarie

Dupo_1 Hello Everyone and and welcome to week Seven of my Bubbaslush by Green House Seeds This week has been terrible on all growdiaries. Every one has displayed a deficiency or some sort of problem. I unable to figure out what it is or what I should do as the nutrients should and are present in the soil, so all I can do is monitor and water.. I don't know if its me or if its the nutrients I'm using are two strong. I can't do anything about it now so it's alot of time and effort lost with no understanding to what and why I'm considering ending all grows as this added stress on top of my bad health is the opposite of why I started to do this.

Dupo_1 Hello Everyone and welcome to week eight of my Bubbaslush by Green House Seeds This week has been better than the last one. Growth is back and its looking alot more healthy. I am considering giving this some more Green House feeding BioGrow but only 1g mixed into topsoil and watering threw. I gave it 3g/Lt at the start but as you can see it got sick. I'm unsure if it was over feed or another type of deficiency like calcium but I don't use RO water and its in soil so it shouldn't be that but it did look like it, I'm really unsure and wish I knew. I have also removed the bottom damaged leaves but well after the damage stopped. I done this to try and encourage bottom shoots to stretch and to make new healthy leafs and flower sights before flowering starts. New hight is highest point from soil not main stem length I hope that what I'm doing is helping so I'll just have to see. Thanks again for checking out my Growdiarie

Dupo_1 Hello Everyone and welcome to week nine of my Bubbaslush by Green House Seeds I'm unsure still of what is wrong with this and I really wish I knew. Iv been into a few grow/hydro shops going over what's happening, crunching the numbers and still come up with a miss.. It has been said a couple of times by different shops that could it just be a bad seed? Now I know that there can be some variation from plant to plant but I didn't know that there can just been ones prone to problems or sensitive. I really should have popped more then one seed when I started this if I knew, I only done one for space and two so I can do more later indoors maybe if all goes well. I know this is not a competition winner but its definitely a insight to some of the reality of growing I guess I'll just have to wait until next year to try and get it right and better Thanks for checking out my Growdiarie

Dupo_1 Hello Everyone and welcome to week ten of my Bubbaslush by Green House Seeds The uphill struggle continues. It isn't looking good at all and the water quality is looking right where it should be so I don't know.. Should I kill it and be done with it? I have re-potted it into a 14.5 Lt pot with goid quality soil and perlite at 20-25% which I hope it gets it back on track before it preflowers. If I had any idea that this could have happened I would have started two more at the beginning to increase the odds of success. What makes it worse is everyone else with this seed seems to be doing really well and even gorilla growing plant and forget is way more successful so what is wrong with this?.. Is it something I've done All help and imput is appreciated and once again thanks for checking out my Growdiarie

Dupo_1 Hello Everyone and welcome to week eleven of my Bubbaslush by Green House Seeds The fucking cat strikes again!! This week has been terrible on this one. The cat again distroyed another one but strange enough it's still alive! The last two were alot younger so couldn't hold there ground but this one is still going. LST was redone after the attack and the defoliation was not planed obviously. It's a complete joke of a grow now with every step of the way going wrong and to be honest I'm truly sick of it. I started the project to relieve stress and have something to look forward to and it has done the exact opposite from week four onwards. I'm sorry this hasn't been more enjoyable to follow along Thanks again for checking out my Growdiarie

Dupo_1 Hello Everyone and welcome to week twelve of my Bubbaslush by Green House Seeds This week i have given it some Green House feeding Enhancer at 0.5g/Lt and gave it 1lt. The new growth has burnt tips, this was there before I gave Enhancer. I don't know if its from stress or what but the run off is between 6-7ph. I can't do much else but it has started to grow again. Not much else to say but I wish this damage didn't happen in the first place. Thanks for checking out my Growdiarie

Dupo_1 Hello Everyone and welcome to week 13 of my Bubbaslush by Green House Seeds Everything is much the same and not looking good. It hasn't started to grow much yet so I'm afraid that if it doesn't so good improvement over the next week I will be ending it. I would like to thank Green House Seeds for this opportunity but it hasn't worked out for me. From growing problems from week four to a cat almost killing it there's not much point in trying to keep going. It's not doing well anyway and so far from a winning grow. Sorry this hasn't been more enjoyable to follow along Thanks anyway for checking out my Growdiarie Update: 11/08/2020 The plant is dead.. It wasn't doing well at all, the leafs started to crisp up again and was a real light color of green. I couldn't keep it up to see what happens so I gave it the chop and dumped it in the compost heap. Growing outside this year has been very hard for me with half of my plants has failed by been stunted due to weather and the cat killing some. I would like to thank Green House Seeds for the opportunity and I will try to grow this again with more success inside possibly and outside again next year. Thank you to everyone along the way who help me out with sound advice but there were to many factors against me this time and others I could have improved on. 🌱🌿🍀🔥
