04/12/2020 Taking a different approach to germination this time. Tossed a couple of seeds into a cup of water with a couple drops of dish soap. I let them soak for about 6 hours. Then planted them into Jiffy Pots filled with MiracleGro Seed Starter mix. Watered them in and covered them with Solo cups.
04/16/2020 Both seeds popped during the night.
04/17/2020 Teased the seed husks off of both seedlings.
04/18/2020 Transplanted the seedlings into 3 gallon pots filled with Natures Own Organic Potting mix. I did not properly clean the pots and one had major drainage issues. The soil was really soupy. Tilted the pot to 45 degrees at first. Then to 30 degrees as more water drained out. Then the pot fell flat. Well, that would drain out the most water so I left it like that for a few hours.
Some days later the drainage issue seems to have resolved itself. The soil was initially on the dry side and perhaps had an air layer trapped preventing water from going through. The drainage looks good now.👌
