Week 4 - Purple Punch Auto
All measurements per 1 liter of water
Day 22: Wow start of the 4th week. I feel like week 3 just started! So I'm going to be leaving tomorrow morning but will have time to feed the girls but not update the diary. They'll miss a feeding on wednesday the 27th but I'll be back thursday so they'll only really miss one feeding. I think they'll be just fine considering they're in large 20L (5gallon) pots. -- I'm also going to start adding CaMg to every feeding. Since they are separate and not a all in one CalMag concoction its important to note the dosage as the calcium is 15% pure and the Magnesium is only 7% pure so a 1 to 1 ratio will give 2 to 1. Now i like to keep that a bit more than that, at least 4 to 1 ratio so as to make sure all the calcium bonds to the magnesium and the girls dont get magnesium poisoning. So you'll note that the mix of 0.25mL calcium @ 15% to a 0.1mL Magnesium @ 7% brings me to just about a 5 to 1 ratio. My tap water starts at EC 0.2 and contains no chlorine or chloride to begin with. I always mix this first and let this sit a few hours and a few stirs to give time for the Ca to bind to the Mg. This brings my water normally to 0.4 to 0.5 EC. From there i mix my nutrients. The order i do them is and has always been this even though i've listed them in different orders before. Rhizotonic 2mL / Canna A 2mL / Canna B 2mL / Cannazyme 2mL and then check PH which is normally bout 7.0 at this point and begin adding my PH down which during the vegetation phase is Nitric acid (as it breaks down to nitrogen which they need more of in veg phase). When i get to flower phase i'll be switching to Phosphoric acid (which breaks down to ...you guessed it phosphorus). So after everything is all mixed i'm left with an EC of 1.6 and a PH of 5.9 (sometimes the EC fluctuates between 1.5 and 1.6 with the CaMg solution and the PH i try to let vary each feeding between 5.8 and 6.2). Another thing i've been doing has been tucking the larger fan leafs underneath the new growth that will eventually be growing their own cola's. This is a form of LST i suppose but even lower stress than that. You can see in the latest picture the plant looks a bit 'mangled' this is just from the tucking process. I've also taken a few tiny leafs and tiny branches on the very bottom of the plant that weren't getting any light and liked to lay in the dirt/aluminum foil. This has helped the airflow beneath the skirt of the plant.
Day 23: Quick update before i leave on my minitrip. I'll just be gone effectively tomorrow and back on thursday. Fed the girls CaMg to EC 0.5 then normal feed of Rhizo 2mL / Canna A 2mL / Canna B 2mL / Cannazyme 2mL to PH 5.9 EC 1.7. Hope the girls dont throw any wild parties while i'm away π
Day 24: Was away on a trip. No feed.
Day 25: They must of thrown a party while i was gone....they pretty much doubled in growth. From 15cm for the White widow, Critical Jack Herer, Gelato #33 to 30cm and from 20cm to 40cm for the Purple Punch! Being back I noticed that their roots were starting to come up below the aluminum foil so i've removed that permanently as its done its job of keeping any green algae at bay. They were probably thirsty with all the new growth so looking everywhere. I fed them the standard amount of CaMg and 2mL Rhizo / 2mL A / 2mL B / 2mL Cannazyme and PH to 5.8 and EC to 1.6. I also defoliated just a little bit under their skirt to take away any tiny growth near the soil and any small growth that wasnt going to get much light. Not too much as i really dont want to stress them. For the White Widow it was a leaf or two, as i'm really trying to take it easy on her. For tomorrow I plan on upping my A and B nutrients and backing off the rhizo a bit as they look hungry and ready!
Day 26: I raised up the light even more. 80cm from the top of the tallest girl (Purple Punch) as I'm seeing more of the new growth tips getting a little light stress. I assume its because they grew so fast while I was gone and grew closer than the 60cm buffer zone that I was trying to maintain. I'll see how they respond to that. I've also upped their dose of nutrients and fed them twice today to get some good runoff. The solution is as follows: Starting water 0.2 EC to 0.5 EC with CaMg in a 5 to 1 ratio / 1.5mL Rhizo / 2.5mL A / 2.5mL B / 2.0mL Cannazyme to a PH of 6.0 and EC 1.9. Instead of their normal 1L per plant today they'll be getting 2L each. Tomorrow They'll go back to 1L each and one feeding as long as their runoff looks adequate (10-20%). I've also taken out the humidifier as it was hardly ever triggered anymore to turn on. Since all the new vegetative growth the RH seems to be in the 42-50% range by itself. I'll monitor the RH value closely going forward but seeing as they'll be in flower very soon it was my intention to keep this above 30% but below 50% to keep any bud rot away. Since i've taken it out it allows the ladies more room in the middle where the light is most intense so it should even out a little bit with the light being raised so high. Second feeding was the same measurements but a PH of 6.1 and EC 1.8. Will update with pictures tomorrow
Day 27: Just started noticing they're beginning to flower! I'm really excited. To start week 5 I'll be adding Canna Boost to the mix. Today they've been fed twice (2L each plant) to make sure they are nice and happy. It's with the increased dose of A and B. The measurements were as followed: water CaMg from 0.2EC to 0.6EC / Rhizo 1.5mL / A 2.5mL / B 2.5mL / Cannazyme 2.0 mL to a final EC 1.9 / PH 6.0 and the second feed with the same measurements but final EC 1.8 / PH 6.1
Day 28: Last day of week 4. Today's feed is a bit different as I've added boost, lowered Rhizotonic and switched from Nitric Acid for my PH down to Phosphoric Acid as in flower they'll need less Nitrogen and more Phosphorus which is what each break down to respectively. It was interesting to note that it took way less phosphoric acid than it did nitric acid to bring the PH down from the regular 7 to the 6 range, this is due to the nitric acid being about 38% pure and the phosphoric acid being 80% or more on average. I fed them twice and an increase amount of boost (2.5mL per liter which i'll be dropping down to 2mL per liter tomorrow, i just wanted to get it soaked in the coco coir and hence i did two separate feedings so each plant got 2L of solution today. The values were as follows: Water starting at 0.2 EC raised to 0.5 with 1mL Ca and 0.4mL Mg / 1mL Rhizotonic / 2.5mL A / 2.5mL B / 2mL Cannazyme / 2.5mL Boost, those same proportions in both feeds. The first feed came out to EC 1.8 and PH 6.2 and the second feed EC 1.8 / PH 6.1. I dont plan on any more defoliation as after reading countless diaries on here i've come to the conclusion that it most likely hurts yields and probably should just be avoided altogether with auto's. I have been trying to tuck the larger fan leafs underneath the future cola sites however to try to get them as much light as possible. The humidity since i removed the humidifier is between 35-45%. I would prefer it to stay in the 40's but i think that 35% is sufficient and i wont be very fearful of budrot as they start blooming. Will update Week 5 with pictures to start the week tomorrow.
Yoo Lith the garden looks pristine!! One can tell you did the research properly ;)) Plus the setup is top notch, looking forward to the flo phase! Good to see ya on this platform as well, keep it up - 99 donuts :P
Rumble in the jungle!! π²Wow.....coming on nicely brother and they're all developing really well π. As you say the timings going to be a little awkward with the various strains but what can you do man?
Super nice garden bud!!! π
@@Lit_1, I hear you completely bruv and let's just hope we're blessed with good conditions when our time comes!! On my first outing I definitely panicked and stopped drying way too early so I'll 100% be waiting for snapping stems this time......at least 7 days. It's about heat for me during drying so I'll see how it is nearer the time whether to leave some leaf on or not and maybe do a dry trim this time.......funny thing is I can't afford any smell leakage during harvest so I'll be jumping in me tent with me little baby and chopping her up in there!!! If I pull all the other bits out I might just squeeze in!! π
What a Fucking Beautiful Little Forest!!! ππ². All looking well bruv and I don't quite know how you're dealing with 4 ladies.....I'm just about managing 1!!
That goes for real life ladies too π
Blessings to you my brother π
@Bushbaby808, I been smoking for almost as long, 25 years but took breaks here and there....never been able to smoke my own though so i'm VERY excited about that prospect!
On the strain age i think it could vary seed to seed as even the same type of seeds will have different genetics. I think just watch those trichomes and let those be your judge for how much/little amber you want. With an Auto I suppose it wont vary as much as a photoperiod but I think because she's been healthy for the most part she'll probably be in that normal 70-75 range...maybe give or take a few days. With a photoperiod maybe it would be true as you could spend longer in veg or in flower but with Auto's i think we're actually on hard mode with getting everything right at very specific time periods and she'll do what she does in that condensed time frame no matter the conditions (just less or more yield) if that makes sense.
@@Lit_1, Love that, Cheers man!!! Like you I'm hooked on this Shit but then I've been a lover of Marijuana for over 30 years so it's about time I step up and produce my own Goodness. π Youre a dedicated Brother so I'm sure you'll be chopping up some super sticky icky Shit in no time!!
What's you views on this bruv.....I'm growing a 70-75 strain but due to a lot of LST and not so perfect conditions it could easily be 80-85 ah?
I wonder if I'd left her to just grow would it of been nearer that time scale?
@Hemporio_Afghani, Ya i've got a ton of jars in preparation for it all! Quite excited! I think its fairly safe to say i'm going to have more than 1g/w of yield. We'll see just how much.
Just looked over your babies again bruv and you've got some beauties.....Proper glad its all worked out nicely for ya!! That's gonna be a bumper harvest brother, you won't be back on here again for months man ππΏπ.
@Bushbaby808, According to the weather should be about 25c and under and 55% humidity. I'll try to keep the humidity a bit lower. Also going to be doing a wet trim. Yea we're going to have to find some good purple strains to grow for the colder winter temps!
@@Lit_1, Ahh nice man, enjoy the sticky fingerz and I hope it goes well bruv.....Will you be trimming up before drying and how's your conditions gonna be? I'm sure I'll have temps around 22-25β which I'm hoping ain't too bad but I'd love the option to go down to 18-20 if needed!!!
We can't have it all I spoze!!! π
Definitely doing a winter grow....ππ
@GrowerGaz, No worries. It's such a new light i kinda took a leap of faith getting it. However their Zeus pro 600w is pretty great so i figured these attis models couldnt be far off. I pretty much had to walk their tech team through getting me a PAR map (info wasnt on their website at the time). After our conversation they've since added it to their 'spec sheets'. So far I'm really happy with it. The ladies all seem to love it as well. Any other questions regarding it dont hesitate! I'm growing in a 90x90x182cm tent (3'x'3'x6'). You probably can get away with 4x4 foot tent but i wouldnt go any bigger.
@GrowerGaz, Ya 100%. I just adjusted the height. I last put the distance at 65cm but now they pretty much grew to 60cm distance. I'll try to maintain that. When they were seedlings and the distance was more like 90cm I think i experimented with 60% and 80% but i changed it quickly to 100% mainly for the warmth. Also have a humidifer in there, 60% when they were seedlings, now i let it be around 50%. In flower i'll drop it to 40% or slightly below. I also have a mini fan on top blowing on the LED which keeps it 'luke warm' to the touch, without it its pretty hot (it is a heatsink afterall).
@@Lit_1, But, the others are behind so who knows what's gonna happen with them little fuckerz!! Crazy when you think of her stretch and slenderness that she's produced such fruits......Wicked!! Chuffed for you bruv ππ
@@Lit_1, Hahaaa, indeedy bruv!! You're in for a bumper bush of buds.....great work my friend, real good to see them all doing so well and not far off each other it seems!! π
@Bushbaby808, Yea she's loving life! She's so close to the light but i think she enjoys it, cant really detect any light burn on her now that she's in full flower mode. She still looks about 3 weeks out I think at best though. I had a goal of 200grams total from my grow, but i think this hedge might give me that just by herself!
@GMSgrows, Thank you bredren! I really appreciate it. I'm quite excited to smoke what I've grown for the first time in 30 years of herb smoking. Can't believe I haven't done this sooner. What a great relaxing hobby!
Dude you killing it. That PP going to fill out and colas be falling all over the place. She stacks nicely, and looks like youβve given her a good home so you should be in great shape. Great pics too, all looking awesome, hope she continues to party for you.
Greazy
@Greazy77, Thankfully i think she finally stopped stretching....i LST'd all the main cola's as well. She really seems to be focusing on flowering now which i'm thankful for! Next time i grow this strain i'll be topping and LST'ing the hell out of her, and most likely she'll be alone in the same tent. Cheers Greazy
@WitheredEye, Thank you sir! Just trying to leave myself some information for the next grow so as to improve upon it! I'm getting really excited about my first harvest!
@Bushbaby808, I'm thinking of planting these suckers as a hedge grove to separate my property line.... she's ridiculous! Maybe make a hedge grove maze out of them! π
Looking awesome man, those PPA grow big. Iβm with ya, for an Indica dom it sure Sativas! Ran out of height in my tent as well. Good luck rest of the way, gonna be tight in there for sure. Keep it realz.
Greazy
Nice nice brother, they've all put on some weight eh?
The Purple Punch is definitely punching man, she's massive with real nice thing bladed leaves!!!
Keep on doing what you're doing my friend ππ
