SK#1 will spends the next 10 days outdoors, night and day in its pot, savoring the discrete temperature changes in my area. Today the average brightness at 2 pm is around 70,000 lux
87.8 °F, strong sandy wind
Go baby, go!
Well, my organic vegetables garden, in anticipation of growing weed has been at rest for twenty months. I started to amends with green manure from legumes and lawn mowing (expecially the last month, for ready availability of N). I've mixed 1 gallon of Vigo Plant Full (perlite, guano, peats) to improve drainage. All the roses around, the apple tree and the hedges were treated with deltamethrin so as to preventively reduce the population of aphids, whiteflies & red spiders.
My vegetables & weed eventually will receive only spraying of nettle macerated. SK#1 has spent the previous week outdoors night and day in her pot savoring the discrete temperature changes in my area.
Now in the evening I will have to pay close attention to broadnose weevils and later to bedbugs. It will be a tough fight against the wind and heat. A whole week of full sun awaits her.
Special Kush #1 now is growing quite well though in the week spent outdoors has suffered from the wind and is very sensitive to overwatering.
Maybe it will be the southern sun but they already smell slightly
Here is the ugly duckling. She does not work, has suffered more from life in a pot and continues to get naughty with irrigation. I'm basically keeping her a little underwatered. She's under close observation. After the storm I will evaluate whether to fertilize. She's the strain in which I place the most expectations.
Maybe it's this pheno, maybe in this phase SK # 1 is more committed to widening the roots but it is growing very slowly. I will let her grow as she wants without forcing.
Another crazy week, hot days, cold nights, always windy. These are the conditions in which weed grows in nature and my girls seem to love. She finally started growing faster. SK now appears to be healthy and has quickly passed the initial N deficiency noted at transplant week. No parasites. Very rapid response to bending with good branching. In my country we say "Those who go slowly go far"
Of the three, SK is the one that receives the least direct light, but nevertheless she's starting to grow faster. Excellent branching but sensible to the cold. Using this adjustable curved trace I stopped the apical dominance obtaining a thick plant with many well-formed branches. No need 4 feed.
Happy and frosty growin for all of you 🤞
Entering pre-flowering. Calix and pistils appear, beginning of alternating growth. SK has grown well this week the training made her very bushy, as I wanted it to be. A dozen of beautiful branches now have space to form beautiful buds. From now on I will let the main cola grow and stop to bend the main stem. Still no need 4 feed. 👋🤙
Usual summer week here in the south, every day above 86 ° F (max 100 ° F). My pheno is a medium sized plant, is not a beast but is growing well, drinking 2 gallons per day of spring water showing only few signs of heat stress. She's in full stretch. I fed her half the recommended dose of Biobizz Grow 'cause is too hot and don't want to burn her. I think we are 10 days before flowering. I covered her with a PVC net in order to give her a little shield from the sun and give me more privacy ;-)
P. S. She has an unbelievable smell, it remember to me Kashmir pollen hash
July 10, still pre-flowering 94 °F
🔥🔥🔥Tenth day of the heat wave🔥🔥🔥
Eventually my lady decided to stretch, she gained many centimeters, in particular the main branch which is once again dominant. I made a small defoliation in the middle, 2-3 leaves a day. Others will follow.
As for the two sisters, I have adopted the following feeding scheme since the beginning of the week in consideration of the heat:
Water > BioGrow ¹ ² > Water > BioBloom ¹ ²
* ¹ ² half of recommended dose
This scheme will last until the next week, then BioGrow will be stopped.
She must be trained twice a day. Extraordinary smell.
Stay safe Bros💪
The heat wave has just passed, after 15 days of hell no serious problems to report just some critter bites. Very high tolerance of heat. She's doing very well, in full stretching and according to RQS's data sheet now is the tallest among sisters. What a smell!
Stay safe Bros
Ideal weather for growing weed. Minor damages by critters, perfectly healty. Huge plant.
Some defoliation in the middle.
Another heat wave is comin' WTF.
July 22
I've decided to bend again the main stem cause she is now tall 70 inches and is visible too much. Damned stretching.
Update July 30
102 °F
Plants now need to be watered twice a day with 3/4 gallons. All my garden is burned except these incredibly girls, is a hard challenge. I can't understand not how much these plants survive but how they thrive instead
Very hard to stay outside, very hard to take decent pics, very hard to sleep, to breath too. Closed at home I am building a dry trimming dock with a 120 microns sieve which I will then use to beat the dry trim in the Moroccan way.
On Monday 27, the first day of the second heat wave, 90 ° F, the plant already begins to show signs of low heat stress and the forecasts are very bad, this could last for 2 weeks. This is a problem for me because I have planned to start stressing the plant with underwater, an impossible mission in this heat. For the same reason I'll stop to defoliate. I was forced to bend the tallest branches again for privacy reasons, this girl is fucking vigorous. From now on I will stop counting the height and the water, the first because the plant is completely folded 3/4 times and has exceeded 75 inches abundantly. The latter because I water them directly with the water hose. I will report only nutes when gived. Grasshoppers are starting their fucking job chewing leaves but I don't care, this resilient girl has tons of leaves so I'll let them to make defoliation in my place, checking only the new sprouts and for mites. Occasional mealybugs are prompted burned by my lighter, the best method!!!
Still waiting for stigmas.
SK is still stretching, but the branches are getting thicker and sticky, fantastic blend of hashish, musk and kush scents.
Hope you enjoy the garden
Happy to see U come back for updates.
Cheers & Happy Growing!
See ya soon
Outdoors........time passes slowly....
Tropical weather here, this week. Hot morning, evening storms , cooler nights, high humidity, wind. What else?
No problems to report, fantastic grow, girls full of life. Lots of work to bend and rearrange plant's shape every day, sometimes twice a day. Defoliation. Plant is responding fantastically.
Special Kush #1 is now in the last days of crazy-stretch phase, is a big plant so I had to move the main top forward again to the opposite point of the perimeter in order to lower the line and give light in the middle.
Perfect tropical-like weather. No problems to report. Excellent growth. Still rearranging net tent as this bastard stretch a lot.
She's a strange big & tall plant, I don't fully understand her, she has a mysterious, almost ancestral scent. The base of the stem is getting huge, I hope the branches get a little more fat.
Very mild rust fungus infection on the lower leaves of one branch close to tomatoes
Great climate, ideal. No problems to report, for the moment the critters are focused on something else. If it doesn't get too hot, I'll start reducing irrigation and defoliate more. The smell is very strong. Today 13.27 of light.
Flowers are forming well, branches are finally swelling, bud structure is strong. Still stretching but less than previous days.
August 21 update - first day of new heat wave
Great climate, ideal. After careful consideration, valued the considerable size of the plants, the flowering stage and the yellowing of the bottom canopy , I decided to feed one last time with veg nutes at half dose. This will be followed by 2 waterings of water only and then a boost of flowering nutrients.
She's one week later in flowering than Royal Gorilla and is very different in flower pattern from her sister, fewer pistils but more vegetative structure, the buds appear to be more massive. Let's see. Expected harvest time: 1st week of October.
Thanks for following, I ❤️ you
Very variable weather, summer is at the end, temperature drops quickly, even 60 °F.
I was out for 3 days, on my return I found the three girls who were starting to wither but they were promptly watered. No damage to report. The yellowing of the lower canopy has started. Acceptable weather forecast until 10 September. I bought 5 transparent PCV tarps to protect them extemporaneously from the rain.
Very Indica bud structure, well formed, perfect filling. Plant is suffering now from mild rusty fungus infection probably attached by tomatoes. For now only 3-4 branches are affected and only fan leaves. In any case there's nothing to do at this stage and luckly my Special Kush is resilient and is growing very nice. Outdoors it happens. Expected harvest time September 4th week.
Destiny has given me a wonderful climate so far but from the 18th the weather will change completely, precisely in the last 10 days of flowering which fortunately is very accelerated by the anomalous heat, especially at night.
Typical late summer weather here, kinda for weed.
First storm is expected on Saturday, I'm ready to protect them. I've made the last rearrangement of the tent, trying to give more room to the vigorous and overflowing Pineapple Kush so I've rised the roof to 110". The plants are all carefully sprayed with thyme extract to control mites infection, it seems to work, infection is stable from 1 week. I kill manually 20/30 bedbugs a day. During nighttime, maybe a monster grasshopper, is munching some leaves, at this point I don't care, I have to defoliate anyway and these bastards don't chew buds, for now.
Perfect filling, very frosty, enormous main bus is forming and a dozen of big & fat lateral colas are ripening. Pine resin/wet earth scent. Expected harvest time September 4th week but she's ripening fastly so maybe she can gnaw her sister Gorilla a few days.
Last week with nutes

Happy growing my friends🙏
Weather here is still fantastic, hot days, partially cloudy, cooler nights. Long term forecast are excellent till the end of September, probably till mid October. No news to report, I'm just waiting for buds swelling, these are the slowest days of my life.
I've got pheno #1, tall plant with short and dense buds, fast blossoming, good leaf/buds ratio, great resin production. The plant is gorgeous, all concentrated on the top, big, rough and fat buds. It is evident from the physiognomy typically indica that she is a rustic, wild plant and not an indoor doll. Flushing started, last feed Thursday 17th. Very strangely rust fungus infection has attacked only to fan leaves and hasn't hurt flowering, till now. She will be a generous yelder... and maybe she will cropped together with her sister Royal Gorilla in 7/10 days.
Stay safe Bros
She must survive tonight and the next three stormy days unscathed, I will protect her. Then it should be sunny for the rest of the week and I hope she can ripen for the weekend. She has huge buds, all over 20 centimeters, fat, completely submerged in resin, more than a pound of weed on the plant. Her scent reminds me hashish smell of my first trip to Amsterdam, 30 years ago. Guess the yeld, my friends ... and please cross Ur fingers for my girls.
Dramatic weather here, 2 violent storms have hitted my tent without mayor damages. I've bought a high density polyethylene film from farmer supplier, God blessed for this choice. Strong. But I've made a great mistake on Thursday because I was very busy cropping and curing Royal Gorilla that I've forget to water the sisters. I've watered them on Friday just before I started putting up the tent and the storm started with 90% humidity. It has become a tropical greenhouse, so to avoid mold disasters I drilled some side holes and raised the lower edge. Fortunately, on Saturday my little ones managed to dry themselves well thanks to a little sun and a dry wind. I've learned the lesson. Now that weather is a little bit better but colder I've realised that my plants now love to live under a greenhouse, flowering is accelerating.
Saturday check after the storm, bud by bud, revealed to me a single rot spot on minor side branch completely obscured by upper buds and fully soaked by water. I've removed the affected part carefully, no metastases around. Some branches start to bend down by weight, buds are enormous. Now under the greenhouse plant is restarting to flower well, as notorious Special Kush don't like too much sudden changes of temperature. Do not want to repeat mistakes done with Royal Gorilla so the plant will be cropped only when 100% ready, not a minute before, not a minute, I think on Wednesday or Thursday if dry. We are talking about of more than a pound of shit!
P. S. need some help from you guys to trim Royal Gorilla, need to smoke less, that shit has no respect! 😁😎
Good weather here.
Almost total defoliation and stop watering on Sunday.
Cropped on Tuesday night. I'm more than satisfied. A lot of stuff. Perfectly ripen. It's a sin to cut her, she's really a beauty. Top cola apart there are another 12 big bus and 2 dozen of minor fat branches. After 24h of drying and deep wet trim the weight is 1335 grams (2.94 lbs) of top rock solid buds as this plants don't produce popcorns. So it's legit to expect 600 grams of premium weed.
See you in 2/3 week for the harvest report, drying will take more time than Royal Gorilla as buds are Biggerrr
Smoking preview
Folks, I just rolled a couple spliffs of a dried and cured sample bud for 11 days. Two of friends of mine couldn't tell if it was weed or hash, I'm not joking. Strong and fast high.
This is very-easy-to grow strain, has
faced easily heat waves, rain, strong wind, pests.
Very resistant to mites and aphids, has a
good resistance to mold and bud rot (only 2 little spots in shaded lower buds)
Also, is very resistant to rust fungus (RF was attached by tomatoes but didn't hurts grow, confined only to fan leaves).
Has a great LTS attitude but needs to be topped indoors as she grows tall and don't like aggressive defoliation.
Flowering starts and lasts as expected.
This girl gaves to me 505 grams of superior weed, twelve big buds and a 46 grams top cola, in average with expectations.
Huge resin production, not sticky but granular, perfect for dry-sift hashish.
Buds are all geogeous, perfect shaped, heavy and hard like stone, I definitely recommend Special Kush #1, she worth the price.
These are the results:
Buds
505 grams
Trim
320 grams
Scissors Hash 2,5 grams
Dry Sift Hash 4,5 grams
*plus* three strains
22 grams of dry-ice hash 120 microns
8 grams of bubble hash
Superb smoke!
I am a hashish smoker and Special Kush # 1 met all my expectations and beyond. After 8 days of drying and 12 of curing this weed has a scent of peat and resin, with an ever-increasing hint of sweet notes and coffee. The smoke of these gems tastes of wet earth and above all hashish, with nose exaltation peat and resin smell is clearly recognisable. Very strong in the throat and pungent in the nose but anyway smooth. The high is strong, too strong and immediate. I'm really a heavy smoker and in this case the THC percentage is on the upper side, very high (more potent than my Gorilla) . Extremely relaxing cerebral high at first, very powerful and narcotic body high after, it makes me pleasantly in a good mood and very talkative and playful though couchlocked. Very long lasting effect. Absolutely not a daytime smoke!!! Strongly recommended to fight insomnia.
If I get the chance to do a new run next year, Special Kush # 1 will be there with a front row seat. RQS, this's very good stuff.
Nice job and I’m with you on the hash preference. We use freeze dryers for the bud and that also means I can easily make hash with no risk of mould. Once harvest is done, and our processing license is approved by Health Canada, I’ll spend about two weeks making hash. Should be fun.
@Rap_a_cap, hi there. Thanks, and yes it is great fun doing this stuff. I am legal in that I am licensed for outdoor growing within a specific 200 m2 area, and then four additional domestic plants for personal use which is what I’m working with for now. As for lazy, I think that’s an under-rated human trait that pays off in creativity and insight so I’m quite proud to be lazy when I can be. Cheers and good luck.
@Northern_Ent, Hi Ent very nice balls, really nice. Now you have lot of possibilities to experiment with resin. You could make some charas by rubbing or to try my new way to obtain soft pollen bricks.... I've almost finished to sift all the guerrilla stuff. This year the yeld is: 91 gr at 75 microns, 1176 gr 1st beat 120 microns and 400 gr bubble but we haven't weighted the dried crop. I wish I be able to post a diary but I'm busy and lazy. Anyway compliments, we share lots of tastes it would be nice to be able to experiment together but an ocean separates us. Strange life, i got all the sun and the warm of this world and I can grow legally in peace, to you the opposite. Keep it up Bro
Nice grow, I love growing outdoors. It drives me nuts waiting for buds to mature, but the wait is worth it. I also like your taste in beer. Nice job. I want to see the harvest too.
@@PirateJoe, technically here I can grow legally only Sativa's weed with max THC 0.5% (LOL). I've made a mistake choosing the three strain for this run, cause except Royal Gorilla, the other two strain have indica-like leaves that can't be passed off as "Sativa's". The point is that my only two neighbours are: an almost dumb and blind old woman and a cop, a friend of mine. For months he has been holding not one but two closed eyes and a stuffy nose. Next year 2 critical 2.0 and 1 Jack Herrer, both with tiny leaves😉
@Rap_a_cap, are you in a legal grow zone? I'm not. Did discover that most of my neighbors are cool thanks to Covid and everyone working remotely except for me. The smell from my auto's grow earlier gave me away. Now I have five new neighbors growing next season. Who knew they all smoked? I didn't until now.
@@PirateJoe, thanks Bro. I'm paranoid now, smell has surrounded my home. Outdoors is another planet, one branch is big as a whole indoor plant. Stay in touch, 7/10 days to harvest.
interesting stuff you got going on here! Special kush is one of my favorite indica strains! I wish i could grow outside like you!
Good luck with your girls and happy growing ✌️
@@@GreenHeart420, thanks, finger crossed. I know I'm lucky but I miss the peace and relaxation of the growroom, outdoors there are too many variables out of control. I will end up in psychotherapy😫
You have raised it very well and you are up to date. I am also breeding this breed outdoors for the first time in Iran, and a few days ago I became suspicious of girls' flowering, and after seeing your photos, I was convinced. The cannabis I planted last year all bloomed in the fall. How many more weeks will you start harvesting?
@Alexander_far, Mate if u will take a look at 4th week's comment, You'll realize how I've prepared organically the soil lots of months before. For 2 weeks I have been alternating two waterings with only water to one with half a dose of flowering fertilizer. It is early and too hot to give her a boost. Perhaps later, the land is still rich in nutrients for now
@Rap_a_cap,Hello, I'm glad to meet you. I hope you make the most of the harvest. I will follow the numbers so that I can harvest at the same time with you. Do you have to use flower fertilizers or 20.20.20?
Thanks
@Rap_a_cap,essai de lui donner un petit abri l encadrer structure bois à chaque coin
Faire comme une serre avec ouverture descendante en bas et léger en faut en quinconce
Sinon en pot vaut mieux la rentrer
Hi @Lillau, yes, still 10 days, buds are filling incredibily dense but the Atlantic storm that is hitting your country is espected here on Friday, so no sun for 3 days.
Stay tuned my friend, a very. generous crop is comin'
Great plant! Nice root system.
Against sun and wind would could put a felt or an tissue around the net, something like 15~25cm, so the sun wont touch the soil where the plant is, and also would block the wind. Also will prevent snails.
Some LST could be made in the stem so it wont swing too much with wind. Like a rope tight to one side, and the same to the other, so it don't swing to any side.
Also neem oil, you could put a lot neem on the fabric, and on the soil inside the net.
Wish you a great grow !!!!
