el_cultivito Just picked this little lady up from Dr. Greenthumbs in DTLA. It's a Magic Melon Auto started by Dark Heart Nursery on 2-28-20.
Current set up:
- Vivosun grow tent (36x20x62)
- Mars Hydro TS 1000W LED
- Vivosun 4in Inline Fan & 4in Carbon Filter
- Oscilating Fan 4in
This week's training: LST Tie Down
- Tied down the top to be at the level of the next node to channel the auxins to the lower nodes and start widening the canopy

el_cultivito This lil lady is officially flowering. Half way through the week she started growing pistils all over.
Switched the lights to 12:12 half way through the week.
She recovered from the LST of tying down her top.
Room has averaged 85° F / 40% RH with a high of 89° F
Ordered larger oscilating fan hoping to get the heat down a bit.
Been dealing with fungus gnats in some other plants in the house so I sprinkled ceylon cinnamon on top of the soil, to act as an organic fungicide, and sprayed her down with neem oil as a pest prevention.
💧 Watered: Tuesday May 5, 2020 with 4:1 Water to Hydrogen Peroxide.
Installed 6in oscilating fan blowing at the light.
Heat is still too high. ~85° average
Raised light to 18in above canopy.
Shes responding well to the LST and several nodes below the top have now started showing noticible growth.

el_cultivito Set up an evaporative cooler to act as an intake and to cool the temp through evaporation.
It I was able to get the average temperature down to an average of 77°.
Relative Humidity increased to an average of 55%.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Evaporative Cooler:
The evaporative cooler was way bigger than I thought and blowing all the air into the tent would be overkill and would throw off my ventilation given that I only have a 4inch exhaust fan blowing air out. So I had to rig an air duct onto the front to channel some, but not all, of the air coming from the evaporative cooler. I cut a hole in a plastic brownie box and zip tied right angle plate that I had leftover from an ikea furniture. Then I put velcro tape to easily attach and remove the air duct from the cooler for future maintentance and cleaning.
I left the room where my tent is closed one day and the humidity went up to 84% which also increased the temperature to 90° but I found that simply leaving the room door open gives the cooler enough air circulation in order to function properly and averaged out at 55% RH and 77° F.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Defoliated some ugly fan leaves that were shading a lot of lower buds.

el_cultivito Got some sealant to properly seal my DIY CO2 generator and lil maggie seems to like it. Her buds are starting to swell up.
For the CO2 generator I did the following:
2 Liter Bottle -> 1 Liter Bottle -> Fan
(Fermenting) -> (Water Filter) -> (Distribute)
Ingredients:
Sugar - 3/4 Cup
Yeast - 1 Teaspoon
Water - 6 Cups
Step 1:
Add 6 cups of room temperature water to the 2 liter bottle.
Step 2:
Add 3/4 cup of sugar to the water and mix until sugar is fully dissolved.
Step 3:
Add 1 teaspoon of yeast and let sit until bubbles appear in water filter bottle.
Step 4:
Direct the end hose to the plant canopy. CO2 is heavy so it falls, use fan to blow it to the plant canopy.
Nice grow. I use a 36"x20"x63" tent also, and it works well in my small space. I plan to grow Magic Melon later this year, along with Mango Sherbert, PPD, Squirt, and maybe Lemongrass. Enjoy the smoke.
