ABOUT RUNTZ
Runtz is a strain of cannabis fresh out of LA, with a terpene profile most would describe as candy. However, Runtz as a strain has an incredibly diverse number of phenotypes, which can drastically effect its data. As such, it is almost impossible to say whether Runtz is a Sativa or Indica leaning hybrid, as different phenotypes end up leaning different ways. This also stands true for the THC and CBD levels, which are tested on a per-grow basis, and not available on the internet at the moment.
Runtz is a popular strain amongst cannabis smokers big into the culture and the advertising behind the packaging of cannabis products. You might have put it together already, but the growers named the strain Runtz based on its sugary-sweet aromatic and flavor profile, in addition to the way the bud looks. If dried and cured correctly, users will be able to spot colors beyond green in the bud. A vibrant array of colors from blues and purples to dark greens and bright oranges are often found in the tight, dense buds of Runtz. It is an incredibly hard strain to find, almost exclusively sold out of Los Angeles. Little to no information is available on Runtz on the internet.
Most of the reviews that are available on Runtz describe the high as both euphoric and relaxing, which is typical of most hybrids, no matter if they’re Indica or Sativa dominant. Many note that this strain is good for relieving stress, anxiety, and chronic pain. Upon sparking up and taking that first hit, expect your worries and woes to melt away under the overwhelming blanket of positivity that is Runtz. Not only will you be feeling great, but you’ll also have the sweet aftertaste of candy in your mouth from the smoke. You’ll likely feel euphoric and happy, but not enough to leave the house. After a sesh of Runtz, you’re going to want to find a sofa or bed to stretch out and relax on, as your physical pains melt away and your mind expands. For some this means focusing on the television and watching a movie, for others this means blasting Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon and getting really introspective.
Hey,
she is growing fast and her leaves look healthy. She is now 14 days from seed and I hope I can send her to flower in 21 days.
See you next week.
ABOUT WONKA RUNTS CANDY
And now something about the candy were this strain has his name from.
1980, Breaker Confections officially took on the Willy Wonka Candy Company name. Two years later, it launched Runts: small, fruit-shaped candy in five flavors: cherry, strawberry, orange, lime and banana.
Nestlé went on to acquire the candy company (simply renamed Wonka) in 1988, but Runts stayed on the production line unlike some other early Wonka originals. Flavors have evolved since the 1980s, introducing new fruits like pineapple and mango and nixing lime. For some time, Tropical Runts and Rock’n Runts made their ways into the candy aisle, featuring watermelon, lemon and raspberry candies.
The newest Runts lineup keeps some oldies—banana, orange, and strawberry—while adding the newer grape and green apple.
These small, hard-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside bites spun off their own candy idea for Bananarama—boxes of only banana Runts. Though, if you’re under the impression that the banana flavor is the best because of its solo status, there’s a slew of people who think the tiny, yellow candies are the worst. But, with Runts’ track record, another bite-sized flavor may just be on the cusp of Wonka's imagination.
Hey,
she is growing fast and looks healthy. It's weird not to feed her with liquid fertiliser, I have to remember myself not to feed her.
See you next week.
THE EFFECTS OF RUNTZ
Most people who have tried Runtz claim that it provides a euphoric high, that stimulates the mind and is excellent for creativity, and after some time relaxation washes over the entire body and being overly active becomes impossible. The intensity of the experience might be varied, as Runtz strains range from 19% to 29% THC. Don’t let the sweet aroma and the fruity flavor fool you! If you happen to find a strain that is on the higher end of the spectrum, you might be launched into Outer Space even if you are a frequent user of cannabis. That’s why it might be a better idea to start slowly. Because of the almost even mix of indica and sativa, Runtz strain can be used for a variety of purposes:
alleviating anxiety
stress relief
improving the mood
pain relief
Initially, after the first few hits, you might feel a rush of energy, though it’s better not to leave your home, and stick to activities within the confines of your home. After a more energetic period, you will notice that no longer are you filled with the energy. On the contrary, you will feel strong relaxation in your muscles, and leaving your couch or bed won’t be as easy as it was previously. It is advised that you bring something tasty from the fridge while you still have energy, or you might have to face a difficult dilemma later on. If you have problems with falling asleep at night, you could smoke some of this strain, and after several hours you’ll feel intense sleepiness. After you lay down in bed, you’ll rest uninterrupted for a long period of time.
Hey,
she is healthy and growing fast. Her leaves are huge, way bigger than my hand. I topped her 2 days ago and she took it like a champ. I switch her in 2 weeks to flower.
See you next week.
THE PARENTS PT 1
Zkittlez
Zkittlez, sometimes also spelled Skittlez or just Skittles, is an indica-dominant hybrid that erupts with fruit flavor. The creation of Northern California-based collective Dying Breed Seeds, this strain is descended from fruity indica favorite Grape Ape and tangy sativa Grapefruit. Skittles combines the mental and physical effects of both parent strains to yield a smooth, multifaceted high. This bud’s appeal was strong enough to earn the title of Best Indica at the 2015 High Times Cannabis Cup held in Michigan. Zkittlez’s THC content has been measured at between 15% and 23%.
Like its namesake, this strain offers you the opportunity to taste the rainbow -- but as it turns out Zkittlez lets you see a rainbow too. Depending on phenotype, the plant’s thick and chunky flowers appear in a variety of greens and purples, with vibrant orange hairs (or pistils) sprinkled throughout. The eye-catching purple hues are the result of high concentrations of anthocyanin pigments. The trimmed buds have a characteristically indica structure, tight and densely-packed, with smallish leaves. Finally, a dusting of cloudy white trichomes ensures both stickiness and psychoactivity. Its aroma is where Zkittlez really shines. When properly cured, Zkittlez’s flowers give off a kind of sweet-sour funk. A second whiff reveals slightly more distinct notes of berry and lemon. Grinding up the flowers intensifies the strain’s more sour notes, resulting in a kind of skunky character. When combusted in a pipe or joint, the flowers burn with a very pleasant and easily-inhaled smoke. On the exhale, this light smoke tastes fruity and grape-like. Notably, any detectable grape flavors are coincidental to the strain’s purple coloring; this is because the plant’s color are determined by pigmentation., while its flavor profile is determined by terpenes.
Although Zkittlez comes on relatively quickly, its head-focused effects tend to be subtle. Some slight pressure around the eyes and temples may occur at first. As smokers become accustomed to this feeling, though, they’re able to appreciate the strain’s action on their sensory perception. Odd experiences like visual and auditory distortions are commonly reported, as is a strange feeling of time passing more slowly. Such trippy, depersonalizing effects can be boosted by atmospheric enhancements, particularly moody music or a visually-engaging television show. At the same time that Zkittlez’s psychedelic trappings set in, users may also notice that their thoughts have taken on a newly plugged-in quality, with certain ideas seeming to occupy more space or attention than they otherwise might. This kind of cerebral energy can be a great way to work on detailed tasks, whether they’re complicated or more mundane, like cleaning the house. As the high wears on, a palpable body high creeps in to complement these mentally-activating effects. While this newfound relaxation isn’t liable to knock smokers out flat, it could just undo any earlier motivation to get through a long to-do list. In these later stages, Zkittlez is best enjoyed laidback circumstances. Because of its slow dip in energy levels, this bud is recommended for consumption between late afternoon and early evening.
Hey,
the runtz is a fast growing beast. I topped and defoliate her and she had no problems with that. She handles stress easily. I added a mars hydro ts 600 to the Tent.
See you next week.
THE PARENTS PT 2
Gelato
Gelato is a hybrid crossed from taste-engineered parents Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies and fruity indica Sunset Sherbert. With a balanced, mellow high and a universally appealing flavor profile, this is a great strain for social use. San Francisco creators Cookie Fam Genetics have released multiple numbered phenotypes of Gelato - phenotype #33 has picked up the nickname Larry Bird in reference to the legendary player’s jersey number. This strain has an indica-leaning high and carries a THC composition that ranges from 20% to 25%.
Gelato’s buds tend to be small but they have the thick and dense structure characteristic of many indica varieties. This is a strain with immediate visual appeal: bright orange pistils stand out against forest green leaves that are accented by shades of deep purple. The purple hues come about when high concentrations of pigments called anthocyanins are stimulated by cold weather in the vegetative stage. Although the buds themselves are sticky, short stalks on the trichomes mean that this strain has a less frosty appearance than many others. Cured properly, flowers of Gelato have a predominant smell of pungent citrus, compliments of fruity parent strain Sunset Sherbert. Notes of yeast and dough can be detected as well. Grinding up or breaking apart the flowers gives off a more herbal, earthy profile. Though it’s thick and lung-expanding, the smoke from Gelato is smooth and leaves behind a soft and creamy sensation -- perhaps going some way towards explaining its name. This is one pungent smoke, and those trying to keep their consumption discreet should take any necessary precautions.
Gelato is known to hit users quickly, sometimes taking effect before they’ve had a chance to even exhale. The most striking effect is a sense of altered perception and confusion, forcing smokers to adapt to their newly intensified surroundings. This head rush is met by a palpable body buzz that discourages much activity but still leaves users mobile and not couchlocked. Some describe Gelato as having amplified psychedelic effects like time dilation and sound sensitivity. The floaty and comfortable but still lucid feeling conferred by this strain makes it great for daytime or early evening use. Medically, Gelato has value as a way to treat chronic aches and pains with its powerful numbing effects. Some use it to medicate headaches and migraines as well. This strain’s carefree elevation of mood can also offer temporary relief from the troubling symptoms associated with anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Gelato is said to be potent, even for more experienced cannabis users; newcomers should temper their consumption accordingly. That said, because of its lack of intense cerebral effects, this strain is not likely to put users into a deeply paranoid mindset.
Seeds of Gelato are not commercially available, meaning that prospective growers may need to obtain plant trimmings in order to cultivate clones. If samples of Gelato are obtained, the strain can be particularly difficult to grow and is not necessarily recommended for novices. It can be grown in or outdoors. Outdoor cultivation requires consistently warm and humid conditions around 75 degrees Fahrenheit; indoor grow operations are more easily controlled and can accommodate the medium-height plants. In order to bring out this strain’s full purple potential, growers should expose plants to colder temperatures just before the flowering period to stimulate the aforementioned anthocyanin pigments. Gelato flowers within 8 to 9 weeks when grown indoors and is ready for harvest in mid October when grown outdoors. Despite limited information on cultivation of this strain, we know that its Thin Mint and Sunset Sherbert parents have higher than average yields. Finally, this strain’s pungency makes itself known during the growing process -- indoor growers should put odor control measures like carbon air filters or exhaust fans in place.
Gelato has all the smooth and fruity appeal of Sunset Sherbert with the earthy, herbal goodness of Thin Mints. With limited availability and a bold look and taste, this strain falls into an emerging category of west coast craft hybrids that are focused on taste. Carrying multiple desirable traits from its heavily crossbred lineage, Gelato has standout visuals and taste. Its trippy but relaxing vibe makes it a perfect choice for some solo introspection or for chatty socializing.
Hey,
I forgot to water my plants on time and they looked bad as hell. Even though the runtz had a few problems with his leaves her growth was really good. Next week I switch them to flower.
See you next week.
How to water your Plant(s)
As marijuana is a plant, it needs water, nutrients, sunlight, and air to grow. Although it is traditional to use soil as a planting medium, there is a myriad of alternatives on the market. However, no matter the medium, proper hydration is the be-all and end-all of successful marijuana plant growth. It is especially the case since it consists of 80% water!
Too many new growers make the mistake of believing that watering their plants is an easy process. The main crime against weed plants is overwatering. For some reason, newbies also tend to think it is essential to saturate their crops. If you add too much water, you run the risk of obstructing your crop’s oxygen intake. But if you under-water your plants, they get thirsty, and their leaves start to wilt.
An overwatered marijuana plant often has drooping leaves. Unlike wilted plants, the leaves of overwatered plants are so saturated with water that they curl in on themselves. Remember, your weed uses its root systems to breathe air. When you flood these roots, you’re in danger of drowning the unfortunate plants. Another sign of overwatering is yellowing leaves.
Spotting an under-watered plant is easy. Such marijuana plants look weak, lifeless, and will display clear signs of wilting. In extreme cases, the leaves are brittle and feel like paper when touched. If you have a cannabis garden for the first time, keep reading to learn more about optimal watering strategies.

Best Products for Hydrating Cannabis Gardens
Below, we provide you with a list of useful products that will help you water the plants correctly. They are designed to take the guesswork out of proceedings and reduce the risk of underwatering or overwatering your precious plants. No matter what option you choose, bear in mind that there are different growth cycles. Each of them requires a unique watering schedule.
Here is a quick overview:
Seedling Stage: It is best to water twice a day, to begin with, but focus on frequency over volume.
Vegetative Stage: Daily watering works best if you’re using small pots. If you have large containers, switch to watering every two days.
Flowering Stage: Water every 2-3 days.
As for pot size, you have to choose your container carefully if you wish to hydrate your marijuana plants properly. Common sense tells us that the plant can’t consume all of the water if its roots can’t reach! If you have a container where the roots don’t reach, you have leftover water. This moisture then becomes a target for root rot, insects, and fungi.
As a rule of thumb, start things off with pots or cubes that are one square inch apiece. As your plants grow, increase the size of the container to four square inches. Eventually, you will need a one-gallon pot, followed by a two-gallon container, and so on. Upgrade the pot each time your plant outgrows it.
Use Smart Pots
These particular pots are made with canvas to help your marijuana plants’ roots breathe. They also enable water to drain and ensure heat escapes. Smart Pots are a prevalent option amongst indoor growers. Some users point out that they tend to dry out faster than with standard containers because the air passes through them. Once you get used to this adjustment, you’ll thoroughly enjoy using Smart Pots.
Employ a Drip Line System
If you have a large crop or are gardening in a hot climate, a drip line system could be a lifesaver. It enables you to water your plants and distribute the liquid consistently evenly across the container. Let’s say you use Perlite and overwater your pot. You will find that the volcanic glass rises to the surface where it loses its effectiveness.
As a bonus, controlling the frequency of watering and the volume of water you add helps you manage nutrient supply. A proper drip system will include a series of small tubes and droppers. These connect your water supply to each plant in your garden.
Add Perlite
Although this heat-treated volcanic glass is an exotic material, it is becoming increasingly popular in marijuana growing circles. It is typically added to growing mediums because it improves the structure of organic soils. As it is a neutral substance, it doesn’t impact the pH of your water or nutrient EC.
When you heat this natural substance over 1,400 degrees Fahrenheit, it expands enormously to become Perlite, a commercial material. You will notice how white it looks, and you can purchase it in fine, medium, and coarse grades. If you use a lot of nutrients in your plants, add up to 50% perlite. Reduce to 20% if you don’t plan to add a massive amount of additives and nutrients.
Hey,
Runtz has sick genetics, she is way faster then the other plants. I have send her to flower and I'm looking forward to see her buds.
See you next week.
The Flowering Stretch
Right around the time when kids start hitting middle schools, short awkward teenagers go through puberty and turn into taller awkward teenagers…or was that just me? I’m sure you knew of at least one kid who grew so much, they looked almost as if someone grabbed them by their head and feet and just stretched them out.
When cannabis plants start to mature, they also go through a brief transitional period; a sort of cannabis-puberty if you will. And just as humans undergo a burst of rapid growth, cannabis plants will also create a large portion of their final height in a very short period of time. This explosion of vertical grow this commonly called the cannabis ‘Flowering Stretch’.
In short, the flowering stretch is potential burst of rapid growth that happens shortly after switching to the flowering phase. It can be massive, or it can be next to nothing. The important thing is to expect that it might happen and have a plan ready in case it does. Luckily, most strains you buy from a seedbank are stabilized, so it’s known if the plant will stretch a lot or a little. This allows us to not only plan for a stretch, but take advantage of it when it happens!
Depending on the strain you’re growing, you can expect a pretty wide range of stretching. Some strains can double their height or more, while some do almost nothing. However, if you know the name of the strain you’re growing, you can look up the breeder recommendations to get a good idea of what might happen. Additionally, there are other factors that can give you insight:
Sativas – Sativas tend to grow taller, lanky stems even when trained; inch-for-inch they tend to stretch much more than indicas.
Strain height – Many breeders and seedbanks have the average height of their strains listed. Sometimes it’s as vague as “short – medium – tall”, but even that is enough to give you an idea of its growth characteristics. Expect “tall” strains to stretch!
Light type – Certain light types are more conducive to stretching than others. You can use the right light color spectrum to help control growth characteristics. More on that later…
Light distance – Plants also stretch when they’re trying to get more light (like this plant to the right). As a result of this type of stretching, plants grow taller, but with fewer bud sites. Note that this is not the same thing as the flowering stretch, rather it’s a symptom of too-little light. Most growers want to avoid stretching caused by not enough light as fewer bud sites means less bud.
One of the main reasons it’s so important to know about stretching is that it can rapidly reduce the amount of space you have in your grow tent/area. If you’re growing in a space with limited height, a good stretch can make it so you no longer have room to raise your lights. This leads to light/heat stress and lost buds.
I personally had a stretch where there was no longer any room to raise the lights. I used a LED at the time, and the LEDs absolutely cooked the buds underneath it until I got desperate and cut the stuff that was too close. I would handle that situation differently now, but it shows that no one is immune if they’re unaware.
To be continued...
Hey,
now, 9 days after i have send her to flower, pistols shooting everywhere. She looks healthy but i think i have to give her some micro's in a few days.
See you next week.
Planning for the Stretch
Planning for a stretch is easy to do when you know it’s a possibility. There are two things growers can do that will give a lot of control over planning for a potential stretching situation:
Research your strain
If you know what strain you’re going to grow, you can usually find its growth characteristics online. Seedfinder.eu is a pretty good resource for reviews on strains submitted by other growers. While it isn’t necessarily 100% accurate (what is?), it should give you a good range of what to expect. Knowing the strain you’re growing gives you the power to decide how much stretch you’ll deal with. Since stretching is often accompanied by a ‘tall’ final height, you can reduce stretch by getting plants that are characterized as being ‘medium’ or ‘short’.
Plan for a tall plant
In my opinion, the best way to be prepared for any stretch is to simply plan out the space as if you know that your plant will double in height by the end of flowering. Don’t worry, it’s much easier than it sounds! Here’s how you do it:
Take the total amount of vertical (height) growing space you have in inches/cm.
Take the total from #1, and subtract the height of your lights when it’s at its highest point.
Next, subtract the height of the pot/container your plant will be in.
Finally, subtract the amount of space you’ll need between your light and your plants.
This varies depending on the lights; CFLs only need about 4″, HIDs need 12+”.
When your plants height reaches half of the number you’re left with, initiate flowering!
Hey,
she continues to stretch and I hope she stops in few days because I can't hang my lights higher. The buds develop nicely.
See you next week.
POT SIZE
Choosing a plant pot is an important but often overlooked task. They come in all shapes and sizes that are all going to effect the way your plant grows in some subtle way.
It is best to keep your cannabis plants in pots varying between 1.5 – 3 gallons, 3 gallons being the norm (1 gallon is 3.8 liters). If you have a lot of room in your grow space then you may even want to consider 5 gallon pots.
What is the reasoning behind this? Well, cannabis plants grow long, winding roots; if they are restricted your roots can become “pot bound”. This simply means that there is not enough room for your roots; they cannot develop fully and thus will not be able to supply your cannabis plants the nutrients to the extent they require – leading to nutrient deficiencies.
3 gallon pots tend to be the most commonly used pots, these offer a good balance between pot size and room to grow – your cannabis roots should have adequate enough room for a decent grow, whilst the pot doesn’t take up too much room in your grow room, allowing you to grow more plants in a restricted space.
As previously mentioned, if you have enough room, you may want to consider 5 gallon pots (or even bigger). The draw back of them is that they take up a lot of room, so it can be fairly restrictive in smaller grow areas. However, if you have the space then it can help with the production of some big yields! (light, nutrient and other factors permitting). Having a 5 gallon pot allows enough room and freedom for your roots to grow to their full potential. Cannabis tends to do most of its root growth during the vegetative stage, by encouraging huge root growth early on in this phase you set yourself up for some potentially solid yields - by having an abundance of roots towards the flowering phase your plant can take up all of the water and food it could ever need, accelerating the amount it can grow. It should be noted, large pots are an enabler; they do not directly cause better yields, but have the potential to facilitate a situation where it can happen.
You will want to make sure that your pots are perforated (have holes in the bottom). These should rest on small dishes within your grow room. This allows for easier watering; it makes sure excess water can rest in the dish without flooding your pots – you can then remove this excess water from the dishes at will to ensure that your plants do not end up being over watered. You can also opt for putting your pots into large trays, this a more professional approach as you do not have to worry about each individual dish, but makes it harder to empty out excess water.
Make sure to thoroughly clean you pots before bringing them into your grow space, there may be chemical residue or other impurities left over from the shop or factory. It is also important to only put one plant in each pot, no matter what the pot size is. This will stop any need for competition between plants as well as make sure that any problems that may occur are isolated – should the soil in one pot accidentally build up toxic levels of nutrients, it will only affect one plant.
As you can see, the size of your plant pot can have a large impact on how your plants grow. It is most important to make sure your roots have enough room to develop and grow, otherwise you may find that you have a stunted plant. Giving your plant more room than it needs can let it really flourish. However, you must bear in mind, whilst having too little room will definitely negatively impact your plant, having loads of room is not going to get you extra results unless other, more important factors such as light and nutrients are at optimal levels.
Hey,
she stopped stretching and started to develop her buds. She is sticky as fuck and her smell is gelato with alot of citrus.
See you next week.
RUNTZ TERPENES
Runtz is high in the terpenes Limonene, Myrcene and Linalool. This strain has light floral notes with hints of mango, lime, berries and cream.
Hey,
she is doing fine but I hope her buds get a little bigger soon. The "buds" she already developed are covered in trichomes and look beautiful. Today she is 30 days in flower.
See you next week.
FAST HARVEST
If you’re waiting eagerly for a delicious harvest of buds, then the average timeframe of 3-4 months for growing marijuana can seem like a lifetime. It’s easy to grow impatient with marijuana’s long growing time and you might be wondering how to speed things along.
Depending on how impatient you are, you could stagger your growing operation so that while you have flowering plants, you always have vegetating plants. This would result in a possible harvest every 60 days. But in this article, we’ll be focusing on techniques for speeding up the growing process of a single grow.
The time between seed and harvest will depend on the strain you are growing, along with several other factors.
If you’re growing your weed outdoors, then unfortunately, you’re stuck with the rhythms of nature. There’s no real trick out of that one.
However, growing indoors does give you a little more control over how you grow your plants. And if you want to get to harvest time quickly, I have some sound advice for you.
When you are growing cannabis from a regular seed, you get to choose when to flip from vegetation to flowering. A grower generally does this by changing the lighting schedule. When the number of light hours decreases, the plant begins to flower and produce buds. Depending on the strain, this could be anywhere from 8-12 weeks.
Now, technically, you can flower your plants as soon as they are seedlings and skip the vegetative state entirely. It will make your seedlings start producing buds right away.
Let’s take a look at the Northern Lights strain, which has a total flowering time of about 8 weeks. If you turned your seedlings straight over to flowering from the moment of germination, you’d be harvesting in less than 12 weeks.
This might sound tempting to try, but you really do compromise on your yield. Your plant needs to have enough stems producing buds for a worth-wile yield. And a seedling doesn’t have many stems yet.
You can vegetate your plants for a lesser period than you usually do in order to switch to flowering faster. While your yields still won’t be as good, you won’t compromise as much as you would if you flowered straight from seedling. It might take you an extra three weeks, for example, in which case you could harvest in about 14-15 weeks.
Hey,
she produced a huge amount of resin during the last week. Luckily her branches are stable enough to support the weights.
See you next week.
Every grower wants potent buds that smell fantastic and taste delicious.
To achieve this, you need to support the plant during its lifecycle by providing it with everything it needs to thrive.
Thriving plants will produce lots of Trichomes and an ensure you get a high-quality, potent crop.
Trichomes are produced naturally by the cannabis plant for three main reasons;
Maximum growth through the absorption of minerals and moisture
Protection from plant-eating predators, insects, and fungus
Creation of a natural sun block, protecting the plant from the sun’s harmful UV rays.
If you want to increase trichome yield, which thereby increases THC and CBD levels, there are two important things to remember;
Temperatures should remain between 70-80℉. Dropping below 21°C (70°) makes the plant feel too cold which can result in decreased flowering and plant discoloration, while temps above 26° (80°) can wreak havoc on potency by essentially cooking off the good stuff.
Keep relative humidity levels below 40%. Using a dehumidifier or even an air conditioner can help to maintain consistent levels. Cannabis loves to flower in a dry climate, so this is a way to mimic that by reducing relative humidity.
No matter what else happens in the grow cycle of your cannabis plants, the first and most important step is choosing strains that have strong, solid genetics, as well as higher levels of THC.
If you want the best plants with the largest amount of trichomes, choose strains that consistently produce them.
Strains such as White Widow, OG Kush, or Super Silver Haze are known for their heavy and abundant trichome production and are a great starting place.
In general, many of the White strains, as well as the Sour strains such as Sour Diesel or Sour Tangie have some of the highest trichomes levels of any strains on the market today.
Of course, there is always a new strain popping up here and there, which makes it extremely important to talk with other growers to find out what they recommend.
In addition, choose the highest quality of seeds that you can find because the better the genetics, the stronger and healthier the plant will be.
Quality in, quality out. That’s one of many mottos to a grower.
Hey,
she looks so horrible...as you can see she has or had stress from nutes and heat. I gave my plants a power feeding and after 2 days they looked really fucked. I had high temps in my tent and both things combined caused this problems.
I start now to flush them. 45 days in flower.
See you next week
Heat stress
Your cannabis plant can only withstand a certain amount of heat and light. After a certain point, your cannabis will start exhibiting signs of stress on the leaves near the sources of light and/or heat. Your leaves will get yellow or brown brown spotting and may appear generally burnt in places when there’s too much light. It’s also common for leaves to curl up or down, fold inward like conoes or tacos, and for the serrated edges of leaves to start flipping up.
Cannabis will also display heat stress when grown outdoors in hot, dry weather, especially when not given enough water.
When the heat gets too high, the edges of the serrated leaves will begin to curl up even if there are no burns or other signs of light stress.
When the heat gets too high, the edges of the leaves will begin to curl up and the leaves will begin to “cup.”
Very low humidity can make plants more likely to get stressed by the heat. Sometimes you’ll get symptoms that look like heat stress even if it’s not that hot, and the symptoms are worse because the plant is being affected by very low humidity! Dry, hot air will commonly tip up the edges of the leaves.
Heat stress is even more damaging in the flowering stage since plant is no longer growing many new leaves. Indica-leaning strains are most prone to heat damage in the flowering stage. Heat damage during budding will reduce your yields by demolishing many of your most important leaves, while also causing buds to grow airy with ugly foxtails.
If it seems like your cannabis plants are completely ready for harvest, but they keep putting out new white pistils at the top of the plant, it might just be heat. If that’s the case, pay attention to the lower growth to decide when to harvest.
Heat during the flowering stage also causes fox-tails, which are airy and don’t have much substance to them. It’s basically the same response as growing new buds on top, it just looks a little different on some plants. The plant is basically “abandoning” the original heat-damaged bud to try to make a sad new one.
Hey,
it was bad! In 1 week all her leaves turned yellow and I had to give her a haircut because all the dry leaves started to crumble over her buds. I gave her an overdose and she was not resistant enough. Maybe 50% of her trichomes are milky but I think she has at least 3 weeks to go. Ofcourse she is already in the flush.
See you next week.
Nutrition Stress
Marijuana stress is caused by imbalances of the plant chemistry. Whatever the cause, the stress starts effecting the normal function of the plant and the plant will begin to show signs of problems.
Nutrient Stress: When a plant is given too many nutrients, or not enough, then it starts showing signs of stress. This is caused by mineral imbalances which prevent the plant from carrying out it's normal functions. Common signs of nutrient stress are burnt brown or yellow leaf tips, yellowing leaves or other abnormal coloring/spotting, leaves falling off, and slowed growth. As plants get older, they need less nutrients and may be more likely to show signs of nutrient stress. An older marijuana plant will need less nutrients than a younger one.
The taste is awesome😍You get a flavour of citrus🍋and sweet🍭 combined with a very smooth smoke. Strong gelato high, mostly body but also mentally strong🤯. I was very hungry after smoking her and it's definitely something for the evening. Do yourself a favor and eat before you smoke this strain the original Wonka Runts candy, it will blow your mind!
Because of the heat i had to chop her down way too soon. The stress destroyed almost everything and therefore I'm lucky that she has a decent high. I will grow her again but in a smaller size.
Another great strain from Zamnesia.
💚Thanks Zamnesia💚!
