Two more plants! Actually sour alien livers, but not on the list.
Canna coco soil, in smartpot 3gal/11l.
I'm still figuring out coco so feel free to drop tips.
First one popped out on january 10th, second one is in sprouting.
Trying out different ways. This time, i've not presoaked the coco, only gave her around 1L, mostly on the side. No runoff. Only 10% perlite. Slightly less in the younger one. Goal isn't huge yield but proper learning, mostly regarding watering frequency.
Using these babies to experiment a bit more on watering frequency and quantity. If you haven't noticed noticed by now, there are stuffs I just can't learn by reading. Everyone seems to be able to perfectly time coco watering by weighting the thing, therefore being able to tell apart a 2.8kg pot from a 3.5kg pot. When I lift the pot, I just feel my anxiety telling me it's probably underwatered).
Anyway, trial and error seems to be working since the baby is praying so far. What's working: I did NOT presoak the soil, i watered nuted water just on the seed when planting, around 400ml. After it sprouted, another 500ml, mostly halfway to the side. 500 more ml every 2 days then. Until end of day 7. I won't try to get runoff before end of third week.
Still experimenting. The one that was not soaked at all is much slower. She does pray but she's slow.
Oh and Fuck cannazym. I'm getting P toxicity @ half strength on all my plants. Don't use it early on.
Introduced Cal mag. Big problems with overwatering. It's so different smartpots vs airpots. And i'm still convinced those smartpots are either defective or trash. I Can water whatever amount of water I want, i'm never gonna get runoff.
Considering the nasty deficiencies i'm fighting with the other grow, i've decided to take lead and increase feed despite no deficiencies shown yet. The stretch is probably over, day 33 today.
By the way I decided to kill the younger one to make room for something else. The 4th one will be experiment only, and will reach flowering only if i'm satisfied with results (read: something that looks like a 60+g plant and would mean I figured out coco for the most part)
Can't stop her! I thought she was done stretching, since she started around 20cm and looked like shit before that. No she's 53cm. She was 50 yesterday so I can only hope she's done. This big central cola is annoying, hope she doesn't get too light stressed.
No real smell so far, except for that small liver undertone.
Drinking more each day, and i'm still increasing feed without any burn.
now she's completely done stretching ! what a monster. the top is too high for my tent, it's only at 45-50cm of the light.
doing very well, think i could be going too hard on the feed. i'll stop at 2.5 a&b. i stopped pk13/14 today (end of week 7). that main cola will probably end up in one HUGE nug. The frost is here, and for the first time in my tent, even on fan leaves.
About the 3rd, 5th and 6th picture. What's that? I always assumed it was P deficiency but I got P def on another plant and it doesn't look like that.
I've had the same stuff on multiple plants.
Also about the 4th picture, bottom leaves drying and white-ish between veins
It’s the Canna Mono Mag bro. I’ve had the same problem on last crop. It’s a 7% of MgO and it’s way too much powerful even at 1ml/1l to use as an additive, I will use as a supplement in case of deficiency.
Still going great. No deficiency, beside top leaves as expected. Stinking and sticking more each day. Not the fattest nugs yet however.
That main cola is fat and made me wish I used a boost! I have to run another one next time, with boost.
Still going great. I've decided to initiate harvest by stopping usual feed, and starting Shogun's dragon force, sumo boost and terpinator. Next week i'll start flushing. She's reeking more everyday. I got used to the smell of weed, but this one is above what i've grown so far. Quality genetics for sure.
Entering the final week! She was fed with dragonforce and terpinator during this week, and on day 76 I initiated the flush. One watering with canna flush, then only water.
The top looks 100% cloudy, it'll probably be 30% amber by then and will be my night smoke.
The main canopy is around 50% cloudy, so it should be some nice head high. Expecting mostly cloudy, no amber on this part.
The smell changed so much on the week I started using terpinator ! I can't say if it smells stronger, but it smells DANK!
She grew herself for the most part. She exploded on the stretch, stayed very healthy until the flush.
Harvested at 50-60% cloudy, the high is strong, cerebral. But still keeping anxiety quiet. Very enjoyable.
Nothing much to say, enjoyed it. Can't wait to see how the next grow goes. Very happy with the harvest here, i was hoping to pass the 100g cap, and it's done. By a large amount. If the next grow gives me anything like that, i'll have to stop growing so I can actually smoke all that!
