This is actually 2nd week of veg, from moving clones from my mother/clone room.
You'll notice my tds and ec, are incredibly lower, than you normally see.
I used to suffer from, what looked like mag deficiency, followed by phosphorus deficiency, upon adding extra cal mag.
This turns out, was excess calcium, and sodium in my tap water. Ppm average at 250, but i tested at 445 one day. Adding phosphoric acid, to ph down, was creating calcium phosphate in my pots. Not very soluble.
I keep the nute levels low now, to keep the ph in range, with my ro water, which is ph 7.0. My tap water is 7.4.
I foliar feed acti vera, every 3 days, at 1.5ml per 1.5lt.
Im using bio bizz light mix. I have bio bizz cal mag, and will add some soon.
Switched to 12hrs. Would of done some more veg, but mrs said we need it.
Running a tiny bit cooler due to weather.
All nutes kept the same, for this week,and probably the next too. Then i will start to introduce some bloom nutes.
Outside temperatures, have been all over the place this week. Resulting in higher day, and lower night temps. Slight signs of stress on leaf stems.
Slight increase in fish mix, and ive started to introduce some bloom, from today.
Also adding, bio bizz cal/mag, @0.1ml/gal, but its not listed with the other bio bizz products.
Next week, i will stop using the alg a mic.
Will slowly increase ec, each week.
Hps @ 400w.
Bud formation is coming along nicely.
Temps leaning towards high side,and might be higher for next few days.
Very nice weather at the moment, and my hps @600w. Room will run, 2.5c above ambient temperature.
Still showing signs of stress on leaf stems. Not convinced its temperature. So will test soil ph today. I suspect its running a little low.
Will probably add a couple of pinches of palm ash, to buffer it.
Today will be ro water only @ph 7.0. For soil test.
Temps rose to 29c a few days ago. In response, i took both carbon filters off, and raised the light 10cm.
Soil ph was slipping, at 6.0. I just watered plain r/o water, for 2 days, then reintroduced feed, without fishmix.
All new growth, free from red leaf stems.
Last week, i had a couple of yellow leaf tips, which tells me, i was on the limit of nutes the plants needed. Cut back bloom by 0.25ml/gal.
The new nute mix, comes out at 6.7. Plants look happier. No slow down of growth at all. I felt no need to flush, or add buffers.
My feed might seem weak, but they get that everyday.
Weather finely cooled down. Temps back where i want them.
Bud progression, is looking nice, despite some stress. Trichome coverage, is getting crazy. Smells amazing.
The bio bizz cal/mag must be working. Not a yellow leaf in sight. Only giving 0.1ml/gal, once a week.
Ok for half way through. But the hot weather, really makes the plants suck up nitrogen from the soil. I don't think they will need anymore, and havent had, for over a week.
On that note, i will probably feed for 2 more weeks. Then ro water, right to harvest.
I cut out feed, a day ago.
Leafs are still very green, and i believe there are sufficient nutes within the soil, and then the fan leaf stores, to ride until harvest.
Just r/o water, ph'd to 6.7. Thats the only time I've used ph down, the whole way through.
I think they will be ready in 2 more weeks. But i don't mind leaving them a tiny bit longer, if needed.
I will probably put the 250w mh bulb back in, for the last week. Which as well as increasing resin content, it will also improve the finishing photos. 🙂
Plants are maturing very fast.
These clones, are at least a week faster, than the mother seed.
What branches are not tied up, are now struggling to stay upright.
Buds aren't particularly large, but are very dense.
Trichome coverage is good, and the smell is pretty fruity, and skunky.
Weather has been extremely warm, the past few days. Ambient temps 30+,which spurred me to put the hallide bulb back in, a little earlier than planned.
Plants watered with ph7.0 reverse osmosis. No nutrients.
I will give a good flush, one day this week.
Running costs for this grow, equate to around the price of 1oz of weed. Thats for soil, nutes, and electricity. I should see a return, of at least 2oz per clone. Not the highest of yields, but it saves me and the mrs, a small fortune,and it will be better than whats about to buy 🤣
A very nice pheno, with smells similar to k2.
As i chopped this just under a week early, it is just above a daytime smoke, which creeps up on you. Smoke a lot, quickly, and its quite relaxing.
I feel the extra week, would turn this to a night smoke.
This pheno definitely leaned towards indica.
Happy with the results. Next run of this pheno will get longer.
7 weeks, gives you a very nice day smoke.
Most of the phenos, had hints of orange bud, but this one is reminiscent of k2, with a creeping, long lasting high. Flavours were very influenced, by all the afghani genetics, in the parents.
Wow this strain moves quickly eh?! I will have to be on my toes. Can you tell me about your watering set up? Bottom fed? Autopots? Are you using super soil? What size tent? I like that you can fit so many in such a small space.
Thanks! Nice grow!
@TonyTrichomes,
Thank you. Although the last hot weather, took its toll.
Im looking into super soil also. I think its the way forward, for personal medicine.
Biobizz is not without issues mind. Not much mag. Definitely better in softer water. I also use their cal/mag product. Which works well. I used to use growth tech, ionic, but switched to biobizz 20 years ago. It was a different product then.
The clone mother, is in my greenhouse, and looks amazing.
@Fungal79, Damn.. I can't believe you can fit all those plants in such a tight space! I love it.. very efficient. Good for you for figuring out all that science stuff. How did you learn all of that? I'm currently starting my 4th grow and I've only every grown in coco coir. I would like to start a super soil grow soon though but will need to amend my set up a little bit and mix and cook the soil. Next spring for sure! I will do some more research about Biobizz. Always cool to see and learn how other ppl grow. Thanks for the response.
@TonyTrichomes,
This strain doesn't hang around, even when stressed. Especially this pheno, which didn't spread as much as the others.
There are 6 clones, in a 110x110x200 tent.
They are in 25L, square pots, in biobizz lightmix.
I use deionised, reverse osmosis water, with 0 TDS. My local tap water usually has high calcium, and phosphates. It reacts with ph down, making calcium phosphate.
My ppms, with biobizz added, is incredibly low. I do it this way, so i no longer use any ph control. Biobizzs acidity, brings ph to where i need it.
I water from the top down. With regular soil cultivation, to help with compacting soil. 🙂
@Growingkitten,
Yeah. Trusty old hps.
Although im using the bulb that came with the ballast, which was never used. Couldn't get anything better at the mo.
I have some cheap leds, which a friend is borrowing. I will be moving to cmh 315's soon 🙂
@Lazuli,
Thanks 🙂
I got another free, with my night queen,which I'll save for an emergency.
I have one of those clones in my greenhouse. I'll be surprised if i get less than 1.5kg. I'd be happy to share clones, but its illegal here 🤣
@Fungal79, Ya I think that's def a smart move. If you like the strain you might as well grow it a few times and experiment with getting it to be the best you can get it!
@AlbaElBooko,
Im sure your budget lights will do just fine. I doubt there will be much difference at all.
My dimmable hid, cost £60, and my viparspectra leds were £120 each, lol.
So i also consider my setup budget 😀
Had a call from the housing association yesterday. They want to do a house inspection, real soon.
I've got just enough time to dry it, if i harvest today. Then i have to clean down, and pack away. Then put it all straight back up. My mother and clone room is well hidden, flowering chamber, is in my bedroom 🤣
Buds are at full size, but i would of preferred to mature the resin a bit more.
This pheno, will stay permanently in my mother room 🙂
I'll update later.
After a couple of hours, of solid pruning. Its all hanging in the tent.
My house absolutely stinks, and its totally not legal here 😁
Soil was bone dry on harvest, and the wet weight was 1850g. Think there will be at least 3oz per clone. Which is pretty reasonable. Easily around 500g dry.
I'll update harvest week, when dry. 🙂
Just had to take my carbon filters off. Max temp of 29c yesterday.
Max airflow, not bothered by any smell, which is just normal at the moment. My greenhouse smells much more 🤣
