So far, so good! This is a very fun hobby indeed! I water when the pot feels light, give light and love every day, and viola!

Grow Questions

She's been super healthy most of the time, but last night I noticed some metallic spotting on one of the bottom leaves of the plant. I read about a couple of solutions, but I'm looking for input from the community here as well!

I wouldn't get concerned over the "metallic" spotting. It can be genetics, it can be some stress. Make sure you water the plant only when soil is fully dry and light and when you water, you get some runoff at the bottom of the pot. Leave that leaf be or just snip it off together with the 2 side branches and the other leaf from same level and most important, light up and relax

hey there, the slightly purple stems come from small stress at the root level, also you can see the slight downwards curling on the leafs. What you need to do is just water a little bit slower maybe 6-12 hours less often to make sure you respect a strick wet dry cycle. Hopefully this will fix it... if the problem gets worse you'll need something to break down the problem roots. Great work so far actually ! Hope this helps ! 🚀

you plant looks nice and healthy so far. She is now 3 weeks so is getting bigger both in the soil and outside. I see you are watering only around the stem, in the middle. It's good and bad. It can promote root development but this will build up salt build up around the roots and also will push the soil to become more alkaline which will lead to nutrient lockdown. As is, you should not worry what so ever at this time. All is good. Just water as much as you'd get some run off water at the bottom of the pot (which you will need to remove later with a large syringe or something, if left there, will just drown the roots. Not familiar with Fox Farm Happy Frog soil, but I think it is pre fertilized. Still, you can give some root promoting supplements, humic acid etc. Also look up Ormus if you want to get esoteric (it is a huge booster for agriculture in general and not only) Do you plan any topping, LST here?

@DiFaziolio, LST alone (and some well planned defoliation) can give you huge yields! You can grab the fan leaves from level 3 and bring them down and secure then on a skewer or something. One note for future grows, if you plan to do LST plants, plant your seedling as close to the edge of the pot as possible, so when you LST, you bring the plant straight across to the other side, having to work with the whole diameter of the pot rather than only half of it - when the plant is planted in the middle of the pot. (if you know what I mean) I am doing lots of LST myself. I found working with aids (skewers or chop sticks) helping and it is very easy going for the plant vs the tie only method. See the method I do in my diaries might be of visual reference. This method will not end in breaking the stem. If you plan at least a 6-8 week vegetation period, it is really worth and in your benefit to top the plant at least once. This will give you even canopy and even distribution of bud sites, less chance of bud mold. This plant is hydrophilic, at some stage it will drink 1-2L+ of water per day, air circulation is important Have you an extractor fan?carbon filter? are you worried about smell? :)

@@occultgreen420, from all of the reading I've done, I've been leaning (no pun intended) torwards LST. I know if I am going to do it, now is probably the best time to start. I have some plant ties that I bought, and a few guides I've read. What is your best advice after seeing her? Any additional information/pics I can provide to help?
