First Grow Pineapple Auto 5 Seeds - Will be outdoor - Location: MA USA --- I decided to go with a custom soil blend for the Veg stage: Bagged Potting Mix, a Leaf/Grass/Coffee ground/banana peel/Worming casting Compost blend, and a very minute amount of Scott's Grass Seed Started fertilizer for a little extra nitrogen. I started germinating in my indoor greenhouse on Cinco de Mayo! (5/5/20) The seeds are germinating directly in my soil mixture. I ran out of small pots due them being needed for my food garden, so I just drilled a bunch of holes in some Solo cups for drainage and used those. Currently 2/5 have sprouted, after roughly 4-5 days of germinating. I'm planning to try topping on some of them, some low stress training, and I'll probably just let 1-2 of them grow naturally if they all germinate. I don't want to screw up all 5 plants! 😄 When I transplant them, I might try to put some in pots, and some in the ground to test it out..... Update 5/11 - All 5 seeds germinated

Has anyone else had their outdoor grow survive a mircroburst thunderstorm (73mph a few days ago), hurricane, tornado or other extreme weather?... Talk about stress training! I wonder how it will affect yields.

I've had a field of hemp take a beating to hail and it was about a 40% loss of the field about 3 weeks after planting clones, some came back but those that did had a rough time of it. That is about as close of an experience as I can think of to a microburst.

I just had 4 days of sometimes heavy rain, 2 days in to it I added 1/3-1/2 my 3 day nute routine. We had 2 more days of sometimes heavy rain. Im in week 8 of an outdoor potted auto grow and I have 3 days of sun coming. Should I add nutes before they dry out? Bud rot from rain?

@Jef79, Thanks bud! Legal here up to 12 plants... my first grow ever looks good enough to me! Im glad they recovered because it would've been disheartening if they didn't. Good luck to you as well.

Hi mate. Shame about the snap, but they look really nice though! I’m no expert on autos but my mate the grey wolf mentioned once that autos don’t clone well because the ruderalis gene makes them retain the age and growth stage, so yields are minimal. Always worth the experiment though for sure. Good luck mate👍

@Shooey, I agree, I did prior research about autos and feminizing. I'm just happy it rooted, I wanted to test to see if I could save it by applying a cloning technique to it.... it's working. I'll take this knowledge onto my next grow.... 5 Plants, week 5-6, photos I think because I can't sex them yet. If any of those 5 randoms are males, im thinking of trying to cross pollinate the Auto Pineapple Express clone with the random male. I don't if the timing will work out though and understand that its traits can vary if I do succeed.

Sorry about your weather. I was in one years ago at a private airfield. We lost all the planes and a barn. Good luck with your plants!

@Greeneyes2155, They're still growing, so thats good! I FIM'd and LST'd 1 out of the 4 of them that was already growing awkwardly... The leaves were twisted, and it was growing a little slower than the others... Now it's growing 6 colas with many bud sites and has 1/5 sized twisted (sideways, not curling) little stubby leaves... I think I'll name is "Twister". Ha!

For those of you who who don't know.. it's broccoli on the left and squash/zuchinni on the right... Couple peppers in the back... The front small pots are the random seeds I started germinating... Disregard them in the Growers Choice Pineapple Express AF grow.
