Out of 2 seeds, one germinated. This one took over a week to pop up, but she was fine up until today. 2 days ago, at day 16 I added a top dressing of organic compost mixed with cacao, ried horsetails and watered with a 1/8 dose of Marphyl and some blended fresh aloe from my garden and mineral water. Soil is 1/2 coco 1/2 compost (I bought the wrong coco block and forgot the perlite). She gets sun on windowsill when it is sunny, and grow lights the rest of the time. No tent. I have only watered three times (aside from light spray during first week, down the middle with the latest watering going all around. Help, advice appreciated.

How can you differentiate between a nitrogen deficiency or too much light in an organic grow when only the tips of bottom leaves are affected? I am using 60 led lights on one plant (Wakyme).

Doesn't look like nitro-tox. Curling down is a sign of too many nutes, though. I wouldn't worry about the single-bladed leaf, but the one on top shouldn't do that, yet, even at a younger age when things like this can just happen.... it could just be a bit sensitive to the nutes and grow out of it without changing a thing. Nitro tox will have dark leaes that start at bottom and darken upward over time. Several things will cause dark leaves. Too much light will cause nodes to stack on top of each other. The leaves will look oddly close together, etc... Top leaves would begin to fade to white over time. Simply raise 2-4" and see what happens. If it is light-cause, it's not severe and a few inches will easily fix it. At that size you want the lights pointed at the few leaves you have from the top at the distance they likely recommend. as it gets bushier go ahead and see and side ligthing helps -- if that's a normal configuration in the picture. Light doesn't do much if not direct at tops of leaves, and if only a few, go from the top only. If it's pointing at bottom of leaves, it could be increasingn evaporation, which could cause some leaf cupping, maybe? Potentially some nute burn in tips of leaves. I'm just not certain with that sort of light. 12-18" on lights? umol/s can help figure it out, if it is accurately rated. That's a 50-true watt light? it's likely good for 1 sq. ft of space and may not be enough for blooming a plant properly. Watts are a horrible measure to use, but probablymore correlative than their par or umol/s spec. Par is a per m^2 measurement based on total umol/s. So if oyu take their umol/s rating and use some algebra to translate 1m^2 to your area, you can determine your relative PAR or ppfd, whatever the correct vocab is. ~100umol/s in 1sq ft is a fairly high par rating, for example. Small space, lots of photons. This plant is also a bit young. They get more robust as they grow a bit more, if it is a senstivity to nutrients. It's possible you can do nothing and it will be perfectly healthy with zero effort soon. "organic" grow also means you have no idea what's going on in the soil chemistry, so it's best to wait until you are absolutely certain, although moving the lights a few inches is simple and not a huge impact or stress. You can easily re-adjust the moment you notice too much stretching. If nodes are spaced well, it's not the light.

Plant is growing great. I removed the two single browning leaves, and there was already new growth coming in. I tested a neem, peppermint oil and phytoplankton foliar spray I mixed up on the cotyledons, but they browned, so I won't use it on the leaves. It could just be the cotyledons dying naturally, but I don't want to risk it. I can use it on the soil. I cracked open a coconut and mixed it with water for tonight's bath. All the little bugs in the soil went crazy and popped up. The soil was so dry, I thought there was no life. I was so wrong. It is vibrant down there. I have raised the lights. I am not sure if the leaves are coming up too close together or not. I have been talking and playing music to my baby also. Watching this life form from seed fills me with such joy. I need this to help my autoimmune disease. next week, she will get some molasses and aloe from my garden. Aloe foliar spray midweek maybe. I am new and just doing my best.

My smart pot is turning white at the bottom. There also appears to be roots trying to pop through. I put rocks between the pot and plate for air. I have one blade of grass and a tiny weed popping up, so conditions at the top of the pot are okay. Should be worried?

Hi! That white stuff is probably build up salts from waterings and shouldnt be a problem Also the roots sticking out is a good thing cos now they will dry from the tip and starts to grow more small roots inside the pot!

Began first attempt at Low Stress Training. Applied first foliar feed of aloe and molasses. Fed fresh coconut water. Holes began appearing and it was causing major damage. I couldn't find the culprit and I went over the entire plant with a magnifying glass. I was stumped. I waited until night and after an hour in the dark I went into find more damage and a small black bug that I immediately and easily smashed between my fingers. I only saw it a few seconds before it's death, but the description and damage matches the flea beetle! I have applied more neem spray, diatamaceous earth, and coffee grounds. I also added worm castings from my organic lawn. Color looks okay, but I handled the leaves a lot looking for pests. That was scary. Hopefully a pheromone message was not sent out to more beetles. As far as LST, I don't know which way to go...in a circle and then up? I found a wire ring for a wreath that fits perfectly around the pot, so I tied it to the pot at two points. Now I have more room outside the pot to put wires 360 degrees around, and only two tiny holes in my smart pot.

I broke my ankle so lots of difficulty. 1 day of drooping from underwatering, but it recovered okay. Had to dust entire plant with diatomaceous earth to get rid of suspected flea beetles. Roots may be infected. The top of this plant is always dry, and the pot always perspiring at the bottom so it is hard to know when to water. Added organic, unsulphered black strap molasses to waterings to prep for bloom. New leaves look safe from whatever was eating holes in them. Lots of little new growth. Continuing to low stress train even though I know little about what to do for sure. Defoliated 3 leaves. Hoping I will be able to tell when it starts to flower.

Added Epson salts to topsoil with a bit of blood/fish/bone and Marphyll phytoplankton. New growth has great colour, LST looks to be doing okay. This will probably take a few weeks longer than advertised due to slower growth. Soil is still very much alive. Just waiting for signs of flowering.

Gorgeous new growth, but no signs of flowering. Changed light to red only. Putting in closet for 12 for darkness. Hasn't been getting sun due to poor weather and I don't think my light is strong enough. Pot full of roots. Will go up to 5 gallon next grow.

Lush green growth after a lull. An explosion of green shoots with at least 6 sites ready to flower. Top flower still ahead of the rest and is the only one showing white hairs, but the rest seem to have come out of nowhere. Added some 48 hours soaked banana water and top dressed with bat guano. Bought a CFL light to supplement the one I got off Amazon. Molasses still added to a few waterings.Wish I had it in a bigger pot, but this size is certainly manageable. LST seems to have been successful.

I pulled back on some of the nutrients because the bat guano may soon kick in. Just water this week. Another application of Marphyll and molasses next week for the little bugs. I found a baby slug, so I need to be mindful and vigilant for eggs that came in on the soil. The temperatures are finally warm enough and the plant is loving it. The question is, since this quick one is not quick...will it die before I get a harvest? Top leaves looking lush, three oldest leaves shedded. I am getting itchy to get the dark devil in the ground. Is this plant finally flowering?

Transitioning to flowering...changed to 12/12. This is not an autoflower. I am anxious. Ready to throw this plant away and start over. I will persist though.

Just added mollasses this week. Microbial soil life is still abundant even though this has been going since mid March! Unsure if other nutrients necessary. Can't tell if lower leaves are naturally dying off or nutrient burned. Unsure if Marphyll is still necessary, or maybe just a banana peel water drink? Lost track of what week this is, but trichomes visible and hoping flowers look okay. Sigh. Still chugging on. Is there an award for persistence?

Just going with water for now. Tips of top leaves slightly brown, no curling. We had some hot days where humidity was kept low, but heat from dehumidifier plus outside temps got up to 91f. Some leaves at top have strange marks a bit concerned. Don't know if these are fattening correctly or not, but it is looking and smelling better after the hight temps took away the smell.

Btw just a tip, if you have a higher temperature allow the humidity to stay higher so she can still transpire at a proper rate, higher temps higher humidity, lower temps lower humidity. That could also be a potassium excess wich in turn can cause zinc, iron, calcium and magnesium deficiencies. Check for signs of new foliage developing thinner blades or interveinal chlorosis in newer leaves. Best of luck growmie and stay lit.

I am ready for this to be done. Are the buds fattening enough? Humidity fluctuations between 44 and 60, I can't keep it steady. Why are the leaves doing this? Help!

I have no clue about when to harvest. Not as fat as I had hoped, no yellowing of leaves, possibly due to being a living soil grow? Is it ready to harvest? Smell got strong!
