Hey guys, welcome to week 3! The girls have been fed 4 times this week: (Day 15, 17, 18, 20) Micro 0.5ml/l + Bloom 1ml/l Ph: 6.0 - 6.3 Ppm: 300 - 400 Temp: 24° Humidity: 60 % Total LEDs: 8 (Day 19) Growth seems a bit slow. Since there are no signs of over- or underwatering or nutrient deficiency or toxicity, this slow growth could be a normal feature of this specific strain that we are growing. Stay tuned for next week!

Hey guys lets get straight to it: Nutrient feedings: 3 (Day 23, 24, 25) Added calmag to the feedings 0.5ml/l calmag + 0.5-1ml/l micro + 1-2ml/l bloom Ph: 5.9 - 6.1 Ppm: 450 - 750 Watered the plants on the other days with ph balanced water 6.0 -6.3. Temp: 25° (lights on), 20° (lights off) Humidity: 60% This week I sprayed neem oil (3ml/l) on top of the plants leaves for the first time in their veg cycle. This helps to prevent most insects from breeding and spreading. Use neem oil at least 3-4 times periodically within a time span of 7 to 10 days. You can use neem oil either to prevent or to cure your plants from insects.

Hey guys, this week is going to be exciting as we will implement LST (Low Stress Training) for the first time to our girls during this grow cycle. Start using LST: when 4-5 sets of true leaves are visible How: Tying down the main stem (right under the 4th (or 5th) node) + pulling main stem to the other side (above or below 1st node) to centralize main stem In the pictures you can see the side branches reaching out for the light. Each of these branches will be growing more and more and will eventually carry dense buds at the end of the flowering stage. Nutrient feedings for this week: 5 (Day 30, 31, 32, 33, 35) CalMag 1ml/l + Micro 1ml/l + Bloom 2ml/l Ph: 5.9 - 6.2 Ppm: 850 - 900 Temp: 26° (lights on), 20° (lights off) Humidity: 45-50% (lights on), 60-69% (lights off) Total LEDs: 9 Happy Growing!

Hey guys in this week we will take a closer look at drooping leaves caused by overwatering. So at day 37 the plants were flushed to check the runoff and to flush any locked up nutrients. Runoff Roxanne: 6.0 Runoff Fiona: 6.2 And it seemed all good! Overwatering: Only 3 days after the Flush Fiona's leaves were heavily drooping. This can be caused by over- or underwatering. In this case: - I was using a 7 Gallon (26.5 liter) fabric pot. Which is not bad at all BUT the medium I grow with is 60% Coco and 40% soil. - Soil can save water for a longer time (2-3 days) than coco. --> Fiona was only a small plant: Her root system was not big enough to soak up all the water that fits into a 7 Gallon pot. The roots were drowning which means: Oxygen cannot find its way to the root system and therefore the plant's oxygen uptake is blocked which eventually leads to drooping leaves! To fix this problem: - I stopped watering for 3 days (Day 42, 43, 44) - until medium was totally dry - I slowly began to water the plants using only half the amount of water I usually use - I checked the medium everyday and figured out how much water these girls need every day. Time used for curing: (depends on pot size, drainage, temperature and plant size) - In this case 7 days (from stop of watering to fully cured) Note: - When using liquid fertilizer the plants can not be fed during time of curing - make sure to feed the plants enough after curing time Nutrients feedings this week: 2 (Day 39, 41) Day 39: only 2ml/l of bloom Day 41: CalMag 0.75 ml/l + Micro 0.75 ml/l + Bloom 2ml/l Ph: 6.0 Ppm: 700 To end this weeks diary with some uplifting news: Fiona has started to show off her first pistils which can only mean: The flowering stage has begun!!! Stay tuned for next week Happy growing!

Hey guys welcome to week 7! If you've followed this grow journey then you might be glad to hear that Fiona has recovered from last weeks overwatering problems (check week 6). It took about 7 days to solve this overwatering issue and as you can see in the pictures above: Day 46: the leaves are starting to straighten up again Day 49: Fiona has fully recovered Besides Fiona's regained health: Roxanne is starting to show first pistils at day 49. With that, both the girls are in flower and I switched from cold light (6500k) to warmer light (2700k). In total we have 9 LEDS (2700k). This weeks nutrient feedings: 3 (Day 45, 47, 48) CalMag 1ml/l + Micro 1ml/l + Bloom 2ml/l Ph: 6.0 Ppm: 900 - 1200 Temperature: 26° (lights on), 20° (lights off) Humidity: 45-50% lights on, 60-70% lights off Happy Growing!

Hey guys this is week 8 and our girls started off pretty good: The LST is showing its effects and the plants are not only getting bigger horizontally but are also slightly stretching vertically towards the light. This is a good sign since even Autoflowers should be much taller in size at this point. So let's give them their time to grow and let's be curious about what next weeks will bring. If you are wondering why Fiona's leaves are drooping at day 55 and 56: At day 55 - three LED lights were added to the grow tent: A total of 12 LEDs ( 12x 13 watts = 156 watts) & (50.000 Lumen for a 60cmx60cm Growtent) Instantly on the same day: The tips of the leaves started to turn yellow/brown and the leaves were drooping. -> These are symptoms that can be caused by light burn. To fix this problem the 3 extra LEDs were removed (9 Total) and the lights were raised up: Distance between lights and leaves: 55cm Time to recover: 4-5 days (Day 60) Nutrient feedings for this week: 3 (Day 51, 54, 56) CalMag 1ml/l + Micro 1ml/l + Bloom 2ml/l Ph: 6.0 - 6.2 Ppm: 900 - 1000 Temperature: 26° (lights on), 20° (lights off) Humidity: 45-50% lights on, 60-69% lights off Happy Growing!

Hey guys welcome to this weeks grow diary - Week 9! At the beginning of this week Fiona was still coping with the light burn issues which were caused at the end of last week (Day 55). By removing some lights and increasing the distance between light and plants, Fiona could fully recover at day 60. Roxanne is looking good this entire grow and she doesn't seem to be negatively affected by the light intensity. Towards the end of this week there were signs of a nutrient deficiency showing up (Fiona): - Only lower leaves were affected, leaves were turning yellow starting from the edges. Cause: Since we are in the flower stage I believe that these symptoms could be connected to the plant's higher need of potassium and therefore could be a potassium deficiency. (Or it's simply a Nitrogen deficiency - we'll find out) Cure: To increase the plant's uptake of potassium I will raise the watering Ph level from 6.0 - 6.2 to 6.5 and will feed the plant with a higher level of potassium. Nutrient feedings for this week: 3 (Day 59, 61, 63) CalMag 1ml/1l + Micro 1ml/l + Bloom 2ml/l Ph: 6.2 - 6.5 Ppm: 900 - 1000 Happy Growing everybody!

Hey guys it's now week 10 and the girls are showing some nice bud development towards the end of the week, especially Fiona. Fiona start of flower: Day 40 (Week 6) Roxanne start of flower: Day 49 (Week 7) Nutrient feedings for this week: 4 (Day 64, 66, 67, 70) CalMag 1ml/l + Micro 1ml/l + Bloom 2ml/l Ph: 6.3 - 6.5 Ppm: 1200 Temperature: 27° (lights on), 20° (lights off) Humidity: 45-50% (lights on), 60-69% (lights off) New features: - Added Hesi Boost (bloom stimulant) 1.5ml/l on day 67 (I am going to use it once a week) - Added 1 LED: 10 LEDs in total (10 x 2700k, 10 x 13 watts = 130 watts, 10 x 1500 Lumen = 41.000 Lumen (in a 60cm x 60cm Growtent)) Recommended: Lumen: 30.000 - 50.000 (Flowering Stage) Kelvin: 2700k - 3500k (Flowering Stage) Watts: important for electricity costs; Lumen and/or PAR are valid measurements for light intensity Happy Growing everyone!

Hey guys welcome to week 11! We are in the flowering stage and the girls have stopped stretching: Fiona height main bud: (from medium to top of bud) Day 59: 19 cm (48,26 inch) Day 72: 23 cm (58,42 inch) Day 77: 23.5 cm (59,69 inch) Roxanne height main bud: (from medium to top of bud) Day 59: 19.5 cm (49,53 inch) Day 72: 28 cm (71,12 inch) Day 77: 29 cm (73,66 inch) The stop of stretch indicates that the girls are in a lesser need of nitrogen and in a higher need of potassium In order to increase the uptake of potassium I adjusted the ph level of the waterings: from ph 6.0 - 6.2 to ph 6.3 - 6.5 The girls seemed to like the greater source of potassium I was giving them BUT Raising the ph to 6.5 came with a surprising downside: Diagnosis: On day 73 there were small brownish dots appearing on some leaves of Roxanne After some research I figured out that this is most likely a manganese deficiency Cause: Manganese deficiencies can be caused by waterings that come with a ph level of 6.5 and higher Cure: - Manganese is uptaken most effectively at a lower ph level of 5.9 -6.2 - I will water the plants alternately with an ph of 5.9 - 6.0 (Manganese) and an ph of 6.5 (Potassium) Nutrient feedings for this week: 3 (Day 73, 76, 77) CalMag 0.5ml/l + Micro 0.5ml/l + Bloom 3ml/l Ph: 5.9 - 6.5 Ppm: 800 - 1200 Added Hesi Boost (Bloom stimulant) on day 76: 1.5ml/l Temperature: 27-29° (lights on), 20° (lights off) Humidity: 45-55% (light on), 60-69% (lights off) Happy Growing!

Hey guys welcome to week 12 of this White Widow Autoflower grow diary! The girls are packing on weight as they stopped growing vertically at the end of last week and are now focusing on bud production. Though there is still one problem: For one reason the Manganese deficiency (Roxanne) hasn't gone yet: Day 73: The deficiency was spotted (small brown dots on leaves, spreading from center of leaf towards the edges, only newer growth was affected) Day 74: I changed ph from 6.5 to a lower ph 5.9 - 6.2 to support the uptake of manganese Day 84: The deficiency has not only stayed but has spread to almost all of the newer growth and is heading towards the older growth now Only Roxanne is affected If you guys have any ideas how long it takes for a manganese deficiency to be fixed OR if this even is a manganese deficiency (or Calcium / Magnesium Deficiency?) please let me know in the comments. Feeding schedule: The girls have been fed 3 times this week: Day 80, 81, 84. CalMag 1ml/l + Micro 1ml/l + Bloom 2-3ml/l Ph: 6.0 - 6.2 Ppm: 800 - 1200 Temperature: 27° (lights on), 20° (lights off) Humidity: 45-55% (lights on), 60-69% (lights off) Happy Growing!

Hey guys, what do you think.. are these symptoms indicating a manganese deficiency or a calcium / magnesium deficiency? small brownish dots on leaves, spreading from center of leaf towards the edges, only newer growth is affected **more information can be found in week 11 and 12

Hey buddy the Ph should go down to 5.5 - 5.8 at Hydro. This may fix your problem. I find the Ec value a little high with such a small plant :-) but only my opinion :-). Do they give Cal / Mag extra? when Yes, how much ?

Hey guys welcome to week 13 of this White Widow Autoflowering grow! Methods: This week started off with some major: - Defoliation (removing lower fan leaves that don't get any light) (Day 86) - Lollipopping (removing lower located and smaller buds to focus energy on main buds) (Day 86) Buds: - Fiona's trichomes have been starting to turn amber (about 90% cloudy, 10% amber) - Roxanne's trichomes are almost all cloudy (none amber yet) Fiona start of flower: Day 40 Roxanne start of flower: Day 49 Health: - Fiona looks overall healthy, no deficiencies or toxicities and buds are getting denser every day - Roxanne still carries symptoms of a manganese (or calcium/magnesium) deficiency BUT she doesn't seem to be negatively affected much as buds are getting bigger day by day Flush: - End of this week I've started the flushing period on Fiona (no more nutrients anymore, only ph balanced water) - Roxanne will have to wait until beginning of week 14 before flushing (so she has some extra energy to increase bud sizes before harvest) Nutrient feedings for this week: 3 (Day 86, 88, 90) CalMag 1.5ml/l + Micro 1ml/l + Bloom 3ml/l Ph: 5.9 - 6.2 Ppm: 1200 Added Hesi Boost (Bloom stimulant) 2ml/l on day 86 Temperature: 27° (lights on), 22° (lights off) Humidity: 40-50% (lights on), 60-66% (lights off) Expected time until harvest: 14 days Happy Growing everybody!

Hey guys this is week 14 of this White Widow Autoflower grow diary! Good news: Only one more week to go! The girls are looking beautiful. Roxanne is gaining weight while Fiona is flipping from cloudy trichomes to amber trichomes. I started to flush the girls: - Fiona end of last week (Day 90) - Roxanne end of this week (Day 97) Note: I am flushing the girls 1-2 weeks prior to harvest since I am growing in 60% coco and 40% soil (coco requires about 1 week to flush, soil requires up to 2 weeks) Nutrient feedings for Roxanne: 2 (Day 92, 96) CalMag 1ml/l + Micro 1ml/l + Bloom 2ml/l Ph: 6.0 - 6.2 Ppm: 900-1000 Temperature: 27° (lights on), 22° (lights off) Humidity: 40-50% (lights on), 60-66% (lights off) Happy growing!

that' can't be said, as every plant matures and grows differently.. if you're at 15% already, then depending on the high you want you might want to cut her.. remember that the type of high depends not only on the strain, but also on the state of the trichomes.. the main question you should ask yourself is "what kind of high" do you like? Should it be more of an "active" head high for during the day, or more of a "body high" which pushes you into the couch and makes you sleep well? Once you know that, you should look at the strain you're growing.. If the plant you grow is a pure "indica" hybrid, the standard high will lock you more into the couch by default, while a pure sativa would give you more of a head-high (the basic sativa-indica difference), but then of course there are still a lot of hybrids in between. This is just a general rule, but it also depends on time of harvest. When it comes to trichomes you know they go from clear to milky and then to amber, and you stated it's already at 15% amber. In general if the plant one is an indica-heavy plant (so more of a couch-lock), if you want a head-high, you'd be best off harvesting when around half are still clear, and half are milky.. If you want a body high, then most should be milky and some amber. If 20 or 30% or more of them are amber, it'll just be definitely in the body-high area, pushing you into the couch (and as always, don't wait too long or they'll fall off the plant). In comparison if this were a sativa, then even even when the trichomes are full milky it should still give you more of a head-high, and to get more of a body-high effect you'd need to wait until there are a lot of amber trichomes. The hybrids are obviously somewhere in between and the white widow is a hybrid. So it's basically up to you, what you prefer and the type of strain you grow, but i wouldn't wait too long.
