I dont have any pictures for this week. Started all my plants in super soil that I make and use compost tea that I brew and EM1(effective micro organisms) that I batch myself for use.
Typical 1st week growth and size about 1" tall looks healthy
Been feeding with compost tea and EM1 20hrs light put outside as much as possible but its spring in Alberta and still not warm at night.
This week I amended the soil with Epsom salt, mycorrhizae spores and U Cann thrive( azomite rock and glacier dust basalt ect..) mixed into top 2" of soil and watered with compost tea. Ph is still 6.9 both soil and runoff. Also this week my cree cob lights came in so now have them shining at 18" and making everything look healthy and strong
This past week the cree cob lights came in and I amended the soil and I can see the difference in 5 days. My watering routine hasn't changed but the addition of the macro and micronutrients this past week has definitely promoted growth. Cant wait to see this weeks progress. I have my plants listed as outdoor container grow and I do as much as possible but the evening temperatures here in Alberta are still under10° at night so I bring them in till it warms up enough to put them out in the sun.
So my leaves are cupping. I haven't over or underwater them I feel for weight and have a gage. They haven't received high heat still too cool in Canada. Cal deficiency, there is some in the soil. And the leaves feel like paper except bottom leaves that are hidden. I'm thinking lights to close at 18"
The 2 sharks are looking healthy. Noticed that both stalks have doubled in size, nothing to report in ways of burning or discoloring in leaves. Had moved the lights up 2 inches and switched to 18/6 light schedule which seems to to helped all plants.
Wait and watch
May 25 day 32 had them outside the last two days. I've noticed that the stalk has doubled in size this week as well as the foliage has filled out quite a bit. Was thinking about topping on for a clone and why not I need to experiment and play how else do I learn, i have 2 so..
June1 since I have 2 on the go I'm LST one and I'm topping the other just trying different grow techniques, how else do I learn. All in all the girls look healthy and happy
Have done Lst on one the other I'm topping and cloning. I'm new at growing cannabis so figured why not play, I have 2 so experiment and learn. So feel free and leave a comment if you have any insight or advice.
Without prior growing experience I believe for the most part the 2 GWS are looking healthy and happy so I'm continuing on
Starting week 6 both GWS are looking good and healthy. As I explained in week 5 since I have 2 im LSTing one and the other might take a clone or 2. Haven't changed my routine yet, still plan to take both 60 days then flower. Still feeding the same, I have been trying to keep them outside as much as possible but we're still getting frost warnings at night. Watch and wait is all I can do at this point.
June 7 update. Topped the one not in LST and trimmed some of the leaves to allow more light in. Removed a couple leaves on the LST one and trained it a bit more to allow more light penetration.
Happy growing everyone
Entering week 7 the girls are looking good. Haven't noticed anything major so will continue forward.
June 15 day 53 both GWS are doing well. Look healthy so far, did have the lights a bit close on the taller of the 2, it suffered a bit but nothing major. Top dressed both with the gaia green fertilizer 4-4-4. It's a dry fertilizer with azomite rockdust basalt ect ect... All in all they both look to be doing well
June 17 day 55 end of week 7. Removed some leaves on both, topped the taller of the 2 and did some light LST on her. I dont see any problems that needs addressing. Looking forward to week 8
Another week gone by and both are healthy and looking good. Pulled a couple clones off them beginning of last week which are doing good. The timing is off some, the early miss was supposed to be ready for harvest by now so I could switch to 12/12, but the miss is still about a month away, so will plan accordingly to get these 2 into flower.
Moved both outside which they both loved, so keeping them out now fulltime. We had a high uv hot day and the one plant that has LST done got crispy(my bad on that) hope she bounces back, the other has a couple spots on leaves where it was touching another planter but overall it's doing well
Well after the shit kicking the sun gave(yes still my fault), the plants are bouncing back. With them being outside the hours are 16/8 and quite enjoying being outside. Yes I could have started my 12/12 indoors but I'm about to run out of room with the other girls getting bigger, and these 2 were supposed to be outside sometime back but too many cool spring nights forced my hand, that's what happens when you have icebergs and polarbears still to contend with. The nights have been warmer the last 2 weeks so I feel comfortable leaving them out lol it's july and I worry a bit(see pictures above). It did snow 10 days ago.
But this grow is going well other than the sunburn they both seem content.
Happy growing
Both girls are doing great for being outside 24/7. The one that got sun blasted has bounced back and everyday looks better. I want to say both are showing signs of flowering. Gave them both a trim and gave them an adjustment on LST
Both of the girls are outside and doing quite well in the sun. I'm seeing signs that they are starting to flower.
Had a couple good storms roll through and brought hail which beat them up some but are recovering nicely.
Just another week of growth. Other than the bugs eating a leaf here and there, both sharks are doing quite well being outside. Not seeing any deficiencies in the plants, I have dialed back the fertilizer for the flower stage
Another week done. These girls are to the point of being too tall to go back inside. Because of the early miss taking 6 extra weeks its has thrown my other grows off schedule, so I moved everything outside and these 2 are now 15 weeks old and getting bigger, not sure my decision yet
Quite week just doing their thing. I've made a decision to bring one into the tent along with 4 other girls. Our evenings have started to cool off below 10° already. So I checked the girls over for bugs and disease and everything checks out, so they're in to stay. Will give them this week to hang then make the 12/12 flip on Sunday
So both GWS are looking good. Our nights are getting cooler but still about 13hrs or more of light, so I've left one outside and the other is in the tent being flipped to flower.
Day 4/70 flower
So signs of preflower, both GWS are looking healthy. The one outside is staked up and good to go. Inside one is also happy with signs of flowering starting.
Had a small aphid problem with all the girls inside and outside but have dealt with the and continue to look out for more in case
Day 19/70 of flowering.
The GWS inside is coming along nice now. She's full flower and looking healthy.
The GWS outside is also looking real good but is slightly behind in flowering, so I've started to cover her at night to move her into 12/12 or I'm going to run out summer. It was down to 5° last night
Week 19 day 25/70 flowering
The GWS in the tent is full on flower and just moving along. Wasn't feeding her enough and have got a cal/mg deficiency and a potassium deficiency going on, so have upped the feeding and will watch for improvement
Well upping the feeding has helped, still showing some deficiency on new sites but very little. So will continue to monitor her and see if she needs more or remain the same.
Other than the deficiencies she coming along nice, bud sites are filling in and has a wonderful smell, looking forward to seeing the end results
Day 152 43/70 flowering week21
Another week down and 4 more to go.
Think I have the deficiencies under control, dont see any new areas, just what's left over.
Buds are just filling out and getting a more intense smell about her. Tops are starting to turn red and getting quite frosty.
The GWS outside is still looking good but is definitely behind compared to the inside girl. The day temp is still warm but our night temps are above freezing, about 5°. Hope to see her to the end
Sept27 day162 week22 47/70flower
This week has flown by, still doesn't make it any easier with 3 weeks to go.
Typical week of flowering, everything is filling out. She smells nice and fragrant, but not very frosty tops yet.
I've dialed back the humidity to try low low stress her to produce more trichomes, and the 3 girls are definitely getting frosty so hop this girl does also
This week has been another week of waiting and watching, other than typical leaf dying off towards the end, nothing major happening.
I have scaled back the humidity, I'm running the space at 16% trying to stress the girls some into more trichome production
Oct6 Day175 61/70 flowering
Well she's down, checked the trichomes and it was ready just before 9 weeks, I'm sure it wouldn't have hurt to leave it a bit longer.
This girl was supposed to be done some time ago but another grow caused some delays.
She grew quite well without any problems. Nice looking buds with a very fragrant smell. She would be a monster if grown outside as the stalk was a decent size for an indoor grow.
I would definitely do another grow of the mighty Great White Shark.
