This was the easiest grow ever! She started in a space bucket, but I moved her up to more spacious digs when she began flowering. She was the most forgiving plant in the world! She didn't mind when I moved her to a much powerful light setup and she grew like a beast when I fed her like crazy. I know she was overfed, but there was barely anything noticeable until the very end of the grow. That was taken care of by and extended filtered water regimen. I still have no idea what strain I grew. I doubt if I'll ever find out. The buds look and taste like a lot of herb that I have bought here and there.

Reviews. Nutrient
I really liked the simplicity of using this line of nutrients. The pH perfect line made adding nutes a breeze. They were also very forgiving. I know I pushed the nutes hard during flowering, and my girl didn't seem to mind. I'll keep using this line. You gotta love the artwork too!

This grow started in a space bucket, so serious LST was used to keep her small, and tight. I topped her after the third node and trained out the branches. I flipped her after 5 weeks. She was the right dimensions for her environment. It took almost 3 weeks for her to show true female characteristics. I did light training and defoliating while that stretch was occuring. In the future I would defoliate earlier and at greater length. There was a lot of fluff under the canopy. She flowered for a long time. Next journal I'll assume the first few weeks are more vegetative than flowering. She easily doubled in size during the whole flowering cycle. Buds stacked nice and dense. There was very little smell until I was wet trimming. My son said, "The grow room smells loud!" I did a wet trim during harvest. I smoked the resin on the scissors. 😵Drying was done in the grow tent. I had trouble with low humidity because we live in the desert. I ran a humidifier in the tent and still couldn't get humidity over 10%. She dried for 3 days, then I manicured the buds, put them in mason jars, and popped in a 58% Breveda. The smoke is very heady. I found that I had to just sit there for a few minutes after consuming that resin. Overall, it wouldn't bother me if this were my only option for growing, but there are a million seeds to try, and my tent is only so big!0

Why yes they are! I harvested a little popcorn branch earlier this week. I smoked it this morning. Very heady!!😵

@Smokwiri, I started an auto earlier last week. I will post the diary probably tomorrow. I wanted to wait until the 2nd node was visible. I've looked at a lot of the grow journals. 14-16 weeks seems about average for a photo. I guess I could've flipped her to flower a few weeks earlier. I also think I could've let her go another weekish.

@Quexos,Well yeah, 16 weeks is a long time if i'd grow an Lemon OG kush from seed to harvest i could have done 2 harvest within that time. But growing bagseed is such fun, growing a unknown strain just by feeling it's needs by reading it's leaf and branches. What's next on the menu?

Quexoscommented7 years ago
@Smokwiri, Thanks! You mean 16 weeks though right? I was amazed at the yield as well. I expected a little closer to 1 ounce. I could've gone a little longer I think, but I have another grow I want to start. The most amazing thing was the giant pile of kief after I had finished trimming and storing the newly dried buds! Yeah I love when people compare their buds to different objects. I'm not as fond of the lighter comparison. BTW, thanks for following my grow! You've been a great help for a lowly newb.

@Marquise_ao_Sul, Thanks! I must be doing something right if I have your attention. I've checked out your journals. You have grown some awesome buds.

Looking great this week! Just loving the tight internodal spacing and Her squat size! Transplant looks good too So now She can run out that great nodal growth fairly even to main node height! Great work!

Quexoscommented7 years ago
@BudKingsGrow, Thanks Bud! I was originally thinking of topping at this point, but the squat size is making me hold off. I have a lot of horizontal space left to fill out.

hey nice she is developing very well the buds swell well 👍

Thanks! She is getting very crystally. I have problems moving stalks around because my hands get all sticky!!! I doubt I have an overwatering problem. My water guage is always dry, I lift the smart sack up to check how light it is, and I stick my finger in the soil to check below the surface. I actually think she wants more water!😄 She gets a bit fatter every day. I still have about 4 weeks before I harvest. A lot can happen in that time. Also, this was an experiment. So far I think its been pretty successful. But you are right, I see a lot of journals with a lot better growth. I'll know more about why as I get a few more grows into mason jars. BTW thanks for following!

@Smokwiri, I knew it wasn't overwatering when I first noticed the curling leaves. What was worrying me was the deep green color of the leaves. They looked really healthy, but I wasn't expecting the leaves to look that good so late in the flowering. I noticed the browning tips awhile ago. At the time I just thought I should keep an eye on things to see if it gets worse. I never noticed anything alarming, but when you start adding symptoms up, its best to be cautious. You are right, it helps explain the eternal flowering cycle.
Smokwiri
Smokwiricommented7 years ago
@Quexos,it could be that it slowed down the process, a couple of weeks ago i was thinking about overwatering back then, it could be that the nitrogen overdose started to build up at that time. But, you only have some clawing leaves with tips of the leaves with around 2-3 millimeter of burn. maybe she already recovered (the leaf won't show recovery), younger leaves do look healthy.
Quexos
Quexoscommented7 years ago
@Smokwiri, I can't think of anything else that would cause the clawing leaves, or burnt tips other than too much nitrogen. I think I used Sensei Bloom a couple of weeks too long. It had Nitrogen in it. I believe my plant stopped needing that boost a few weeks ago. Now she should be drawing on reserves in the leaves to finish up. That might also be why she has taken so long. I should see some changes now that I'm flushing.

Coming along nicely, good looking flowers ;)
bobo420
bobo420commented7 years ago
@Quexos, those seeds can often provide some of the nicest buds there are ;) The Spartans would never allow that, but look where it got them ;)
Quexos
Quexoscommented7 years ago
@bobo420, Thanks! I like her progression. I wish the buds were bigger at this point, but I'll just be patient and see what happens in the end. She is a bagseed after all. Who knows about the genetics when you are growing a seed that shouldn't have been there in the first place. The Spartans would've never allowed that!

@Quexos, Yes, I'm with you, definitely better to transplant before the tap root hits the bottom of the cup. Otherwise, you may be looking at a premature flowering. Best wishes.
Quexos
Quexoscommented7 years ago
@Zannabis7, thanks Z. I'm starting to think about when to transplant. I wanted to wait for a few nodes, but the root system is developing pretty fast. I might have to transplant this week.

Quexoscommented7 years ago
@fayabed, Thanks! I've seen a lot of flower development since my last update. I think she likes the nutes, and extra light. I'm not sure how long she will flower. My best guess is 5-6 weeks. Time will tell.

Nice to see your SOG in a pot developing so well I also think she's too wide for a herman her leaves look superhealthy and with that 180W UFO, your going for the 4/5oz if everything develops like it has been untill now also the calyx looks good, do you see a hair sticking out of the calyx?
Quexos
Quexoscommented7 years ago
@Smokwiri, I've been staring at those photos until my eyes bleed. I see the preflowers, and I know that something is going on, but I can't see pistils. I'm going to update in a day or two. Hopefully my next update will be more definitive. Herman...too funny!👉👽

I think it's a female too she looks good
Quexos
Quexoscommented7 years ago
@Smokwiri, Thanks! Nothing has really changed in the last few days. There is more pre-flower growth, but nothing that points directly to female. My thinking is that if it were male, it would've shown that type of growth already because males show faster. That might be a myth, but I remember that from when I was a young man decades and decades ago. All I can do is wait!
Jaindoh
Jaindohcommentedweek 57 years ago
you can twist those bottom branches left and right to make sure they get light and dont get shaded out or take them as clones before you flip
Quexos
Quexoscommented7 years ago
@Jaindoh, I started to bend one of them towards the empty space, but that's it. My LST plan is to take the first nodes and make them the cardinal directions. The next set of nodes will make up the intermediate directions. I envision a compass rose. If I knew more about this seed's genetics, I might attempt cloning. It doesn't look that difficult. I don't have anyplace to put a clone though. This is my only grow space...for now.
Smokwiri
Smokwiricommentedweek 127 years ago
this looks good, trichome covered buds with crystals upto half of the smaller leaves do you notice some of the leaf tips bendng downwards, could it be overwatering? all leaf looks healthy, i wish she would fatten up a bit faster, but it still can happen.

Smokwiricommentedweek 57 years ago
she's starting to grow nicer and wider every time i look as you deliver the proper training we can't wait to see the first glimpse of her bud

Height is overrated. Short, stocky, vigorous plants yield like crazy. You're doing great, man! Your defoliation instinct is right on time. In the interest of clarity, I suspect you mean "fan leaves" not sugar leaves, a term used to describe frost-covered leaves on flowering plants =P Liking this grow! Staked down real good.
BudKingsGrow
BudKingsGrowcommentedweek 27 years ago
She's looking nice! Very squat and already on 2nd node! Cant give much advise about transplanting... I always germinate my seeds directly into end pot. Keep it coming 👍
Smokwiri
Smokwiricommentedweek 97 years ago
she's looking good very nice development of bud i'd try to water a couple of times a day in small amounts the wet soil evaporates a lot and puts a couple of % extra to the humidity but you're in flowering now, you don't need the high level of humidity anymore you don't want any mould to accomadate itself on her bud if your problem with temperature gets too big, put her in the dark for 24 hours and change your time schedule of light to night. it's cooler at night and by putting her in the dark she won't stress by the change.
Quexos
Quexoscommented7 years ago
@Smokwiri, Thanks! I'm pretty happy with the way she is developing. There are a couple of brown pistils on some of the lower buds, but mostly the pistils are milky white, or clear. I expect the buds to get a bit bigger and fatter, but I honestly don't know. There still is barely any smell. I'm trying to figure out the strain based on the bud formation, but I'm still not sure.
Smokwiri
Smokwiricommented7 years ago
@Quexos, beautiful pictures, the leaves on the buds are completely covered with trichomes. I don't see any brown pistils yet, that means that the buds are still busy with the development of the buds, i hope they will get bigger and fatter soon. Does the smell guve you a clue of what kind of herb this bagseed is? She looks great

@Quexos,i really like the idea of a scrog, but i don't have the patience to wait 8-10 weeks veg. (i don't use much light)
