It was a smooth and productive week. I did some more bending of the plants to get the high spots down and even out the canopy as well as provide optimal position for the bud sites. Even so, they still measure 7" higher than last week. Almost every square inch of the screen is covered except for a few inches in two corners. They are still drinking about a gallon a day. I did some more defoliation of bottom leaves that aren't getting much light.
Since I don't have many updates for my narrative, I put some more effort into my photos. Even though I know nothing about photography, I tried to give them a little artistic flair.
I decided that my girls probably had a calcium deficiency from using distilled water. I added a cal/mag supplement and an enzyme supplement. Now my PPM is through the roof. Should I reduce nutrient levels so that I'm still in the desired PPM range?
Best if you have osmosis water and mix the stale water for 24 hours (after 24 hours the chlorine has evaporated somewhat) to an Ec value of 0.2. Then add Cal / Mag until the Ec is 0.4. This is your source of water
Keep it up 😎👍
@@decam, Thanks much. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worst this week, but I guess that's what first grows are all about, making mistakes and learning from them.
@GanjaTorturer, Thanks. I've got the bottom under the canopy reasonably cleaned up but I'm going to tackle the top and try to clean up a little space for the developing buds. I'm a little anxious about that. Any tips or resources on how to do enough without going overboard would be appreciated. 👍
@flatblack, i’ve been changing mine every Sunday (every 7-10 days) and it seems to be working out well. I haven’t developed any gross smells, algae or anything unwanted in the reservoir yet!
@Piratagrow, This is my first grow ever, so I'm not a good source to give you reliable info. Thus far, I've just changed it out to correct errors I made with nutrients. I'm finishing my third week. I've read some say every week. I've read some that say they don't change the entire grow.
WHOA, that is such a depressing tale of tragedy here.
So sorry to hear of the loss, I am in my first grow and so far so good, I worry about the site you have shown in your tent. I am going into week 8. I too am doing DWC and am very envious of your SCROG. When I saw how well your plants took to this I was so curious of one huge question I have been debating myself and that is how to do a complete water change out if we don't valve our buckets with a drain system and a fill system. My concerns are about nutrient buildup but I figure if the plants are taking up the solution, the nutrients are making it into the plant. I've started adding PH'ed water every other feeding to ensure not to go over.
