Well, it’s finally time. We’re going to try out this SexBud. This is some of the seeds we won in one of the contests here. This will be grown under a spiderfarmer sf150 light.
The good folks over at @greenbuzzliquids hooked us up with some nutrients to try out, so this seems as good of place as any. This is a photoperiod seed vs the auto flowers we usually do. Let’s see what happens!
Not too much going on this week. Little bit of growth. I have her on just tap water now, with around a 400tds. Nutrient feeding will start this coming week. That’s about all to report this week.
Growth seems to be coming on about normal so far. I imagine I will top this one in the coming week. She’s gaining steam quickly now so it shouldn’t be too long. I’m still not exactly sure how I want to grow/train this one, but being that it’s photoperiod, at least I have all options still.
Good week of growth for this little one. The leaves are huge. I topped it the first time this week and put some training on her. I pulled 5 clones off of it whenever I topped it. It seems like they might pull through, maybe not. I’m not sure what to do with them when I’m done, but I’ll figure that out later. I think I’ll wind up topping this one a couple more times and mainline it. Time will tell. That’s about it for this week. Thanks for looking!
This thing is popping up strong. Had quite a bit of vegetation on it before I topped it, however I didn’t get pictures of it. Sure wish I woulda. Anyway, she’s trucking right along now, looking to do a second round of topping once they growth nodes produce some more. All in all, a happy little plant that responded real well to being topped and didn’t stunt much but for maybe a day. So far I’m pretty happy with what I see.
First round of recovery from the topping is about done. She’s bouncing back finally. Getting ready for round 2 once the growths get just a bit bigger. Hopefully by next week, but we will see how it goes. I’m in no rush on this one thank goodness.
Another week down, another round of topping. This makes the 4th time around. So 16 main colas I believe this will be. Prolly more veg work than I needed to do, but oh well. That’s what it’s all about. Now it’s just getting the structure how I want it and let it grow upwards a bit, then it’ll be time for the flip. See ya next week!
Alright. The butcher show is finally over. I’m done topping and such. Now gonna get her colas all lined out the way I want them grow her up a bit, then 12/12. The structure is looking pretty good so far, so hopefully the buds are really going to do some fattening. I’m going to incorporate some HPS for the flowering on this one, unless I get a better light first. I think I’m going to start finding a balance between HPS and LED to get the final results I’m after that I keep lacking. See ya next week!
Well, that’s the end of the hard stuff for this one. I stripped all the vegetation on the lower branching. Got everything a little lined up, gonna work on getting the remaining branches a little straighter this week. For good measure I went ahead and supercropped each main cola before vertical growth. I’m gonna give her another week and see where it’s at. 12/12 is coming close. I’m just not quite sure when yet. Thanks for looking

She’s really starting to take form now. I’m really trying to do this photoperiod up right for my buddy @BeansWithPork. I’ll do a auto grow just for him soon, but gotta get this one gone since I’m already in it.
Training is finally done on her. Got everything just about exactly where I wanted it, then supercropped all the main colas just for good measure before vertical growth starts. I don’t want height to be a issue on this grow, so 12/12 will prolly come a little sooner than what I would like. We do have about a million other grows coming up in the next couple weeks, so time to get at it. The canopy has just about covered the roots now. No matter the height or yield, I’m betting this is a pretty plant when done. Thanks again for looking!
Veg is over and started the flowering. I did a flush, and switched over to the greenbuzzliquids nutrients for the latter half of the grow now. They’ve been performing so well with everything else I figured I might as well. I just didn’t want to switch nutrients in veg.
Other than that, she’s bulking out. Should de a decent little plant when it’s done. I’m gonna do some heavy defoliation this week just to make sure I get good buds. I don’t want larfy buds. Thanks for looking
Flowering has begun. Slowing some Preflowers now. Stretching a little bit. Another week of action and this one should start taking some shape. Got her in one of the smaller tents, but she’s gonna have to get moved into a big tent soon. I’m hoping to get some solid bud chutes out of her when done. Thanks for looking
Well, at the encouragement of a few (namely SBG and GHL) my arm has been twisted and transplant took place. Went from 4.5 gallon to a 10gallon so she can’t stretch her legs out a bit and really start bulking up. She’s coming on in beast mode already and we’re only 2 weeks into flowering. . .
The buds are forming already, pistils everywhere. She’s gonna be comparable in size to the pineapple awhile back, hopefully bigger. I think she’s a little more well organized than the PE but we’re gonna find out. This one being photo gave me a little more time to play. I don’t know if that’s good or not, but we will see. I’m loving this veg as long as I want stuff. The training and possibilities are endless. This is just the first of MANY photoperiods your about to see. I’ve caught the bug. Beans with pork can finally start watching us fall to the dark side.
All in all I’d say she’s about where I want her to be, and actually a little further than I’d hoped. Let’s see how big momma looks next week! Thanks for looking !
She continues to thrive. Best I can tell she really is enjoying being able to spread out in the 10 gal transplant home. She’s really growing like mad. I can’t believe the buds already look so defined this early into flowering also. Really cooking along. I started adding some of the organic more pk at a small dose. I don’t want her catching me off guard and giving problems. So hopefully that’s a step towards preventative maintenance.
We had to put some dowel rods in to support some of these colas. This thing might be on pace to take out the Pineapple Express for yield. I sure hope so anyway! Thanks for looking. We will see ya next week!
Well, the pictures speak louder than my words can with this grow. She’s blowing up in a hurry. These buds are stacking up nicely. She’s chugging right along. Building up weight and the frost is starting to come on pretty good it seems. I wasn’t sure about this strain when we started it, ‘‘twas just the name that made me want to grow it. However, she’s sure looking great. She outta yield pretty good I’d hope Should be about halfway home with flowering. I’m ready for it. She smells so good I can’t hardly wait. That’s about it this week. Thanks for looking. She’s packing it on nicely and forming some decent buds now. Same as with the blueberry, she couldn’t get all the big shots because I wasn’t home to move it. Hopefully that won’t be the case next week.
There’s no doubt of the lineage to this one. She’s grapefruit all the way. There is NO other smell that can describe it better. I hope the smoke off this is as good as the smell. Were not big sweet/fruit weed people despite what our grows indicate. However have found some really good ones along the way. Hoping this will be added to that list.
Trichome coverage is everywhere on this lady. They’re not huge trichomes, but she’s coated really well. I dropped the dosage of nutes this week. She’s got a bunch of soil under her so, light dose those week, and probably less next week. I’d really like to get a nice fade on her. We will see. Thanks for looking!
She’s still gaining some size, but not huge gains. Most of the hairs are curled in, and trichomes are cloudy white. Time for the flush. We will let her flush out however long it takes to get a nice fade on her and call it a wrap. Shows about over folks. Thanks for looking and see ya next week!

Well, the couple weeks we got busy, this documentation suffered the greatest. We didn’t get the chance to take the final pics like she would normally do. Time just didn’t allow for it. Harvest snuck up way faster than we anticipated and had to chop. It is what it is.
All in all, solid strain. I’ve got a pretty good idea of what to expect on a lesser level. One of the clones I pulled we ran outdoor. That one yielded over a pound of dry jarred buds. Can’t beat that. The iced grapefruit parent is SO strong and noticeable. You wouldn’t have to be told what it was to know that’s in the lineage with one sniff or puff. It’s good if your into the citrus flavors that are really strong. I am not however, so this will probably see a lot of pressing. Well, that’s a wrap. Sorry for the lacking in the end. We tried.
