Zamnesia Runtz! Oooosh!

Kicked these girls off - 22/04/20 - Germinated 4 Zamnesia Runtz seeds - soaked in water with a drop of seaweed. All germinated fine. Paper towel method until tap root is around an inch. 24/04/20 - Added to rooters 28/04/20 - Putting them in their starter pots today to get rooted. Time lapse - 24th > 27th April. Track ID - The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Purple Haze.

Time lapse is from 7th to 12th May. Environment it good so far. No issues...all looking good! I'll pot these up end of the week when they're in the main tent. Hopefully see some rapid growth once in there! Peace.

13th Moved them all to the main tent. Noticed they enjoyed it more in there as they seemed happier the next day - more likely due to the better ventilation. Wished i started in there...oh well! 15th Potted all up to 5L airpots - added perlite & Dynomyco Mycorrhizal inoculant to BioBizz Allmix. Fed lightly with PH'd water and Roots Excelurator and small dose of sweet candy and megacrop. They seem to be loving life now!

Some decent growth this week. Ended up topping all 5 plants. Quick recovery after 3 days. Realised I'd FIM'd the Purple Punch instead of topping...we'll see how that works out! :) Just cruising - 25th May. All plants are in 5L Airpots. Will be moved to their 3 gallon final pots in 3ish weeks.

Sup growers! Growth has been awesome! Rapid! These runtz are impressive. The smell is amazing and we're not even in flower yet...hopefully a good sign! 👌 One of the plants - The Purple Punch - I accidentally FIM'd and as you can see from the pics the leaves are clipped and lots of tops growing out Going to put them in their final 3 gallon pots this weekend and then hopefully add the scrog net to open them up. Right been 10 days or so since the last update...there has been a little drama but good recovery! 14/06 Ready to transplant them into their final homes. Got the tent ready and cleaned. Setup the 3 Gallon Planter with spray nozzles from The Bucket Company. Confirmed it works and no leaks. All is good. I was a little excited to put them in and didn't realise that when I try to fit them into the 3 gallon mesh pot that they do not fit. With them being in the tall 5 litre airpots they were about 2-3 inch higher when they were in the mesh planter. To solve this i had to mash up and break apart the root ball in order to get them to fit. *Note to self - Plant them directly from the 1.5 litre square pots into the planters!* After a light watering of nutes and revive they still looked a mess. Left them for 48hrs and came back to them looking a lot better. Tried watering again and noticed the water would run off to the sides. As this is my first time using an automated system I decided it would be best to run the system for 1 minute and then run it again for 4 mins 5 mins later in order to let the first initial 1 min watering soak in and get a better overall watering. 20/06 Plants have settled into their new home. All photo's are from today. The smell of the Purple Punch is beautiful fruity and the 4 Runtz - smell off the charts for veg!! I cannot wait to flip them. I have a scrog net installed but it's about a foot higher than the plants at the moment. I may cut and lower it this weekend ready for flower. I would usually bend the stems under the net to expose new tops but as I've got 5 plants in here I don't need many new tops I just need it for support also I just want to flip and get them into flower. I am aiming to flip them this week. Peace! X

This week no photo's but not much to report. The girls have adjusted to their new homes. i still have not got the auto feeding setup correctly so I'm feeding by hand. I added a scrog net but need to cut it down to size as it's about a foot too tall. So far just cruising.

Oi Oi is flowering time!! All 5 plants (4 Runtz + 1 Purple Punch) were flipped into flower 22nd June - 9 days in and they're looking great!!! I didn't wait until they grew into the scrog net as I was too impatient. My own fault.....now i'll hit a heatwave when I'll be chopping them....sods law lol! I will add a scrog net for support after defoliation when the stretch is over. Peace! Stay safe! 👍👊

Oi oi! Day 26 into flower and they're cruising! Not much to report....cannot get used to this auto watering system so still watering by hand. All going well apart from some VPD issues early last week. With the hot weather recently, RH was down to 40% so got a humidifier in there and they perked up a lot. Will keep an eye on RH. Monday is week 4 and will give them a dose of Bud Explosion. I will also complete a heavy defoliation to expose more bud sights. LED setup is sitting 19 inches above canopy around 590 umol. Looking solid at present and happy with this so far.

The girls were just cruising along until i noticed a slight yellowing of the lower leaves. The yellowing started in the middle of leaf spreading out. PH was in check, so i thought it was a calcium or magnesium deficiency so purchased some Epsom salts to add to feed. Fed as normal until it arrived. Added it to the next feed - total ppm came in at over 1100. Nothing much to report Sorry no photos this week

After feeding Epsom salts along with normal feed of Megacrop the yellowing got worse with a few dead leaves. I then noticed they were not as perky since watering with Epsom salts and figured i'd nutrient locked the grow. I am flushing with final finish and starting feeding with a plain water feed every other watering. I feel like I may have stunted them a little with too much Epsom salts and over feeding.

Week 5 of flower the deficiencies got worse and lower leaves started yellowing an dying off. I thought I'd nutrient locked the whole grow and then thought it'd be a mag issue due to the epsom salts. I decided to start flushing the medium with flawless finish just to clean it out. Peace

Right....WK6 The Epsom salts completely fried the purple punch plant I had in there down to my own stupidity as i fed all the plants too much. All the leaves of the PP turned yellow and crisp. After flushing for the past 4 days all the plants looks very hungry. Again in my stupidity I ended up using Zamnesia Monster Bud mix and added some to the soil of all pots. I also added some crushed to the water. As this was 'slow release' this totally fried the PP even further. The runts took it like a champ although all lower runts leaves continue to turn yellow. Total screw up.

Week 7 and two weeks left min due to the screw up. This has been a disaster due to my own silliness. Fed water and some molasses. Plants looked screwed after the flushing - totally overwatered and never recovered their praying position. Runts are still fattening up. I was going to add PK but won't have thought it'd have made any difference. Need to grow this better and it looks shocking. Sorry I don't have any photo's. I will have a small video at the end. Also added a UV strip for the last two weeks of flower. Peace!

I forgot to mention I start flush 3 days after the last update so they have been flushing for 8 days now. Only seen the yellowing of the lower leaves and not really seeing any fade. The buds are ripening now and most trichs are milky. Just feeding water and molasses. As I can see most leaves are still bright green. I expected them to fade so increased the flushing agent.

Week 9 and still green as hell. Think this is still down to the slow release bud mix I added 4 weeks back and it goes for 10 or 11 weeks. I think the lights and heatwave were too intense for this grow. I can now see the PP is all airy bud, however the runts are looking quite nice despite the savage beat up. The smell is quite fruity and lemony with a little spice. Anyways I'm chopping next week as I've had enough of this screw up. Needs to be done properly so next time bud mix from the start in 11L pots! Peace

Time lapse 23rd June > Aug 21st 2020. Plenty of screwups - over/under watering+ feeding + pollenated the tent with one hermie, two plants throwing nannas (due to UV) out in the last two weeks and the major heatwave all did not help, This was totally my screw up and for that I still give this strain a solid 8/10. The tastes are nice although my first try of Runtz was in Cali and it is certainly another level over there. Unfortunately I did not get a pheno similar to that I smoked in the US but out of the 5 I did get I really enjoyed one of them which is hard hitting! Apologies for the time-lapse as its not always spot on and often other things took over. Stuff never goes the way you plan it in your head. Upon drying the temps were good and they dried okay. The reason why this is a write off is because one of the plants hermied and caused most of the plants to be pollenated. When I harvested I noticed a few nannas poking out so I'm not sure if I let them run too long, too much stress, underwatering, light intensity, the UV bar or heat stress. Anyways I didn't catch it and I have some well developed seeds. I think it's down to the UV bar causing the nannas but the seeds were ripe (tiger stipe brown) so didn't have enough time to grow and ripen. Seeing as I had deficiencies early on in flower - WK4 - I think it happened then. The PP and runtz all have seeds bar one plant (the nice gassy pheno) and the tent was cleaned with bleach, vacuumed and temps increased to over 100f with a heater after disinfecting. Nevertheless I will grow this again! it's all a learning curve! More bud shots to come when cured. Just over an 1oz per plant is pretty poor imo but again you live and learn from your screw up! Got to be on point with my watering next time! That's why I love hydro!
