Hi, This is my first grow here on growdiaries.com and I look forward to updating this journal as my grow progresses. I put these autos in 7 gal smart pots which may have been unnecessary but I'm hoping they fill in. Once the plants are a little bigger I'm going to lower the lights so the plants are getting around ~50,000 lux and so long as they look healthy I'll probably top them. I'm using Mars Hydro 300w LED (on left) but this plant will get a lot of extra light from the P300 next to it. For the nutes I only used 1/3 the recommended seedling/cutting dosage. I'm using pHperfect Advanced nutrients grow/bloom/micro line and later will add Bud Candy once flowering begins. So far everything seems to be going well and I'm really looking forward to seeing how these girls grow :) Please feel free to leave comments and suggestions - I'm still a novice grower (at best) and still learning.

Day 15 - ThunderHaze Auto Light: MarsHydro 300 set at 15" above plant providing about ~28,000 LUX Watering/Nutrients: Switched to RO water and stopped feeding nutes due to burned tips. Will monitor for a week or so before reintroducing nutes at a low dosage. Environment: 4x2 Grow Tent. Temps low of 70 - high of 85 with RH of 75% Humidifier on 24/7 and keeping my exhaust fan off to retain high humidity. Soil: ~6 gallons of Foxfarm Ocean Forest w/ 4 extra quarts of perlite mixed in. If you see anywhere that you think I can improve please drop a comment - I have a lot to learn

Day 21 - ThunderHaze Auto This plant looks like it’s coming along just fine; she looks really healthy and all new growth looks free of burns so I’m going to start feeding nutes again this week. If the lower nodes branch out far enough I will begin LST'ing with 6” garden staples. Technique: Topped on day 18 and seems to have handled it fine. Light: MarsHydro 300 set at 15" above plant providing about ~28,000 LUX Watering/Nutrients: plain RO water Environment: 4x2 Grow Tent. Temps low of 68 - high of 91 with RH of 80% Soil: ~6 gallons of Foxfarm Ocean Forest w/ 4 extra quarts of perlite added. Day 28 - Thunderhaze Auto This girl is growing great, there are lots of healthy white roots poking through the fabric bottom so I think she is really filling up this 7gal smart pot. Plus this girl is a MUTANT - 3 of the 4 side branches split into two tops on their own somehow which I think is kinda cool 👍. I have to keep this MarHydro so much closer to get the intensity I want so I'm worried as the plant matures the light wont cover the whole plant 😓 Temps are getting high so I got the passive intake going with my exhaust fan so now my RH% is going to be whatever my house is. Light: MarsHydro 300 set @ 11" above plant providing about ~40,000 LUX at the top. Watering/Nutrients: RO water w/ Advanced Nutrients pH perfect line up Environment: 4x2 Grow Tent. Temps low of 62 - high of 92 with RH of 45% Soil: ~6 gallons of Foxfarm Ocean Forest w/ 4 extra quarts of perlite added. Day 35 - Thunderhaze Auto This last week this girl has grown a lot and is now flowering. Added Real Growers Recharge for the first time and I'm very impressed with the fast results. Light: MarsHydro 300 set @ 11" above plant providing about ~40,000 LUX at the top. Watering/Nutrients: RO water w/ Advanced Nutrients pH perfect line up, Real Growers Recharge and Terpinator. Day 49 - Thunderhaze Auto She stretched a lot this week and I hope she is done because I don't want to add another trellis net. I don't think I'm going to put autoflowers in a big pot again until I have a bigger tent - I think just one of these girls would of been enough to scrog this entire 4x2 tent. I was counting on the topping to keep them short but they keep growing. I imagine if I hadn't topped her she'd be 5 feet tall already. But she is developing some nice tops that if they fill in like I hope they will be the size of my forearms Light: MarsHydro 300 set @ 10" above plant providing about ~50,000 LUX at the top. Feeding: RO water w/ Advanced Nutrients pH perfect grow/bloom/micro line up, CalMag Plus, and Terpinator every watering - plain water with Recharge twice a week. Environment: 4x2 Grow Tent. Temps low of 64 - high of 80 with RH of ~60% Soil: ~6 gallons of Foxfarm Ocean Forest w/ 4 quarts of perlite added. Day 56 - Thunderhaze Auto She and her bff out grew the 48x24x60 tent so now shes in a 48x48x80 grow tent. I didn't want to do it but here I am, at least now the whole plant is getting light instead of just the canopy. I don't have a trellis net big enough for the 4x4 and im broke so ill have to wait until the 1st and ill buy a net and a fan speed controller because this 6inch inline for the bigger tent is really noisey. I got a gnat problem so just in case they are in my soil I doused the top soil in diamotaceus earth and placed a few yellow sticky traps. I figured I might as well switch from my mars hydro led to a 400watt HPS light since im in a bigger tent now.

Day 63 - Thunderhaze Auto I think I got a little lightburn but things are looking really frosty, this girl drinks a gallon plus a day so I've stopped using RO water because I was bringing it in 5 gallon bottles which is getting too much of a hassle and cost so she is going to get tap water from now on but I'll use RO water again later when I flush. I was feeding the full grow/bloom/micro line up just about every other day but im going to cut back to only 2 times a week and ill feed with Recharge 2 times a week and all other waterings inbetween with just a little Terpinator.

Day 78 - Thunderhaze Auto This girl is the frostiest plant I've grown to date but that's not saying much as this is my first proper grow. To check the trichomes I cut a tiny sugar leaf off and checked under a microscope and it looked like they were all clear still. I just ran out of weed so its going to take a lot of self disciplne to not cut this girl down cause she looks delicious I just want to eat it😆

This plant is very sugary with large buds; she was easy to grow and put up with my abuse very well. The way the buds formed it was a breeze to trim this plant. Very tasty nice refreshing smooth vape; extra sticky after manicuring nugs.

This haze is super sugary, has a piney pungent smell and vapor is thick and flavorful and smooth. This plant had a smaller LED light for most of its life until week 8 when it was put under the 400watt HPS which may account for why its yielded so much less then her tent mate. Very nice uplifting and psychoactive heady effects. Lessons learned for me this grow are; use smaller pots & monitoring run-off and water enough for run off is important for soil to not get salt build up. I learned a lot in this grow and am so much more confident and ready for my next grow which should be coming pretty soon! Thanks to everyone thats been following along and checking in - it's been fun tracking my grow and recording my progress.

Looking great so far man. I use FfOF and perlite as well and don't usually feed for a month and they still get burned. That stuff is powerful out of the bag.

I think sativas really take advantage of the extra space. Many breeders list that smaller pot means quicker finish for autos?
GYOweed
GYOweedcommented5 years ago
@AvoidantGrower, Nice, I have 2,3,and 7 i think i lll do 2 indoors and7 gal outdoors thanks. I always fimmed but now will let it grow naturally maybe some lst if branching because i grow for me mostly and like to get that big cola.
AvoidantGrower
AvoidantGrowercommented5 years ago
@GYOweed, I think the finish time many breeders provide for autoflower strains are often in smaller containers like 3 gal containers. In my experience so far every autoflowering strain fills out whatever pot I grow it in from 3 gal, 5 gal, and 7 gal fabric containers. It takes a few more weeks but you can double, or triple your end weight easily by just going up to a little bigger container. Also I've never had a problem Topping autoflowers like many are afraid to do
