first time grower trying these seeds i found around the house. started about 4 weeks ago. wanted to start these before the fem gorilla glue #4 seeds and the gorilla zkittlez seeds. which i started this week. this is the first week i am using nutrients. i just received the fox farms grow big, big bloom, and tiger bloom.
was wondering if these plants look normal for 4 weeks old? first time grower and im starting some gorilla zkittlez and was wondering if the ones i started are looking ok? i appreciate any advice i can get. but i do love taking care of these girls and watching them change and grow
Looking great! Nice and healthy. Those thinner ones look like they're going to bush out nicely from the topping/defoliation.
The first pic looks big enough to start LST training!
these seeds were from what ive collected over the past year. i have since had to destroy 3 male plants and have 2 positive females. and about 5 late bloomers that still have to show sex. this is because i started my learning process with these seeds before i planted my "gorilla zkittlez" and the "gorilla glue #4". hands on learning is much easier with all the information there is on this site and others. it has helped me tremendously and i no longer have a feeling of fear or nervousness anymore. and finally seeing the hairs come out within the last couple days had made me very happy. along with the fact my big girl doubled in size in one week.
what to do with slaughtered males? I knew with random seeds there would be some males. i have feminized seeds from I49 now but wanted to begin my training with whatever seed. it is heart breaking killing them with no gain. Anything i can do with them?
It sucks but killing them off is best especially if your not wanting seeds. Be careful when removing males from your area taking care not to burst any sacs. This is why fem seeds are so nice. No need to waste time growing something that turns into nothing. Cheers and happy growing!
is it normal for a plant to grow 13" in 10 days? once i hit 9" it took off and is now 22" from soil. it seems to look ok. and there are preflowers popping up everywhere.
Absolutely!! they can grow 2-3 times their size in the stretch.. Check out my first grow.. My girls just started stretching also.. If it gets to be a problem you can tie down the larger stems to help flatten out your canopy or a tip i learned cut the fan leaves off the top branch not the new praying one's but the one's that are below it and have flattened out.. it helps slow the growth of that stem so the others can catch up! Happy growing!
gained 10" in the last 7 days. 19" in the last 2 weeks. doing extremely light stress training. just enough to get the light evenly to the leaves. there are multiple colas coming up together. hoping for a decent amount from these plants. im doing a light defoliation each week. changed the way the lights hang in the 3rd tent to give more room to grow and light covers more of the plant now
Nice job so far. Looks like you're early into flower with 6-8 weeks to go. You'll soon (in a couple weeks) begin to see some early trichomes and bud production. You have a nice flat canopy and your plant looks healthy, so if you keep it dialed in you should pull quite a bit of weight off it. Nice job for your first grow.
Sorry if this is a stupid question. i am just really nervous because its my first time growing. i was wondering if these were crystals forming around the bud sites on the leaves or is it that white mildew i heard of? i just wanna do everything right.
finally hit 3 feet this week. the smell is starting to come out now. the buds are starting to grow. im adding another 120w led light to the flowering tent. that it 120w power consumption but they are rated as 1000 w led lights. so i have a total of 3 of those lights totaling 360 watts input and 300 watt rated
how much of the lower part of the plant should i clean up to not waist any energy? i dont want to waist energy growing lightweight buds rather energy go to the top. just dont know how far up. because im new to this.
Hi there!
I took a quick look on your diary and to me it looks like every bud is getting light and therefore they should develop pretty well.
SO I would not take out anything at this point anymore 'cos you have done a good job before.
If you feel like some of the lowest buds aint developing normally you can trim them off but you can also keep them and use them for hash/oil/edibles.
The plant has completely stopped growing at 36" and has started focusing purely on the flowering now. The buds are starting to thicken up. I figure four more weeks of flowering and then the harvest. Really curious to see the final outcome. Just wish i knew the strain.
Individual bud sites are merging into big ones. Im thinking about 3 more weeks and it should be close to harvest. I will flush at the end of next week to remove nutrients from the soil.
Im thinking about a week and a half to 2 weeks from now. I have stopped using nutrients. The hairs are over 50 percent amber and curled inward. The tricones are getting cloudier. The smell is very strong. I decided to remove all the fan leaves at this point in an effort to drain any chemical taste from the bud from nutrients. I will dry with the sugar leaves on for 4 days cut them off them fi ish drying for another 6 days or so to try to make the buds fluffier. We will see how it goes. I'm trying different techniques
I just really wanted to say I Love Growing Marijuana. it is peaceful and rewarding. a calm hobby to have. they grow so quickly it like waking up to new developments every day.
