No nute's to start, FFOF with a 30% perlite mix, watered in to 5gal tall plastic pots...cold dry conditions outside have left me to create more humidity in the room by water pans with soaking towels. Running my 1000watt MH at 50% 24hrs a day 20" from the top of pots. I am guessing but based on research I think that this will lead to more veg growth. I plan to increase strength as plants can handle it, eventually running 1000watt HPS.
These are my favorites so far, they have looked healthy and happy even though they were late to the party but they have the tallest initial sprout without stretching. Anyways same problem with humidity levels even with all the vents closed as the weather outside is very cold/dry right now.
Good week overall but some weird new growth on lady #3 and so she will be my experiment with ponytailing. RH improved this week and with storms planned for the next week should help me keep it above 40.
CalMag came today so I added it to the mix and continued with voodoo, rhino and b52. I plan on starting full regimen of nutes next watering with the 3 part ph perfect nutes from AN.
Testing some different techniques, 1 natural, 1 defoliating lower fan leaves blocking side branches and tied down the mutant girl. 2 of 3 looking good while the mutant girl looks like...well, like a mutant. Thinking of tossing her out to make room for an extra tangie.
Started feeding nutes this week and one seemed to be pushed a bit by my efforts and suffered very minor nutrient burn but it might of been due to the defoliating but did not require a full flush just some fresh water the next day.
Girls seem to be happy with a liter of water every other day or so...no run off in the pots.
Week 5 and today was the last day before the switch to hps. Preflower are starting to form now and I wanted to see how some new beans react to being under only hps.
Loving their feedings which is about every other day now with every 3rd watering being ph'd water with some molasses.
Look at these grapefruit go...they love being fed and showing no signs of slowing down. I hope they continue to gain height this week as they have been going about an inch a day for the past week. Just some minor leaf tucking from here on out. The defoliated girl has recovered fully and is the same height as the other 2 but her bud sites are spread more evenly and I have to constantly tuck leaves on natural girl. The mutant girl looks like hell still but looks to be forming 3 main tops and is not taking up space just yet.
Another week in the books, not much going on this week as vertical growth has stopped. These girls ended up being the shortest of the run but have shown the best bud production and node spacing.
These girls are living up to their breeder name fastbuds...fastest cola's and they are taking everything I give them like a champ...they want my nutes and want them bad. Smell is starting to overtake the others with a sweet citrus skunk. Another 10 days of overdrive with base nutes and hope to start flushing but will play it by ear. Today is day 52 and recent rains have increased humidity so I increased airflow with an additional fan .
Today is flush day for all 3 girls, 10-14 days away from harvest and while these girls are not as big as others on this site I have been pleased so far. The mutant girl won't produce much but I should get a couple ounces off each of the others.
Just about finished up with one and the other 2 are right behind her. They smell great!! Can't wait to chop and cure these.
At first I thought these would take much longer but now I see why they call them fastbuds!!
Chop day!!! Yay!!! Not room for drying so we are using paper bags before jars but it smells great and sticky as hell. As soon as the cure is done I will make a harvest report
Fun first grow, 2 of the 3 are already in jars or still hanging in the bags. Haven't tasted it yet. The mutant girl comes down today.
Just had my first taste today 3/5/17, initial flavors of sour citrus and a slight diesl aftertaste. Total weight on the scales was 133g so just over a qp😆 from 2.5 plants (mutant girl was tiny and didn't produce much.
The mutant girl also seemed to be a different pheno type and much better bug structure and tricome production. She also has a heavier diesl aftertaste.
