So a buddy of mine gave me some large purple colored bag seeds and thought I would give them a shot see what we get. I tried to germ all five but only two popped after 5 days I dug out the other 3 failed seeds and they just crushed with little pressure. These 2 are off and going however. I will be topping once in order to clone and throwing them in my flower tent for early sexing. Hope I get at least one stable female. Only nutes are cal/mag and some Blue Planet Easy Weed mixed and P.H to 6.5 in RO water.
Nothing much so far. Feeding same as week 1. Keeping My main grow going while waiting on these lil ones to reach cloneable size. This little tent is great for cloning and seed starts.
Day 12 May 24th:
So transplanted these babies today. I feel like I can top / take clones probably by the 27th.
They were watered in with Cal/Mag and seaweed solution mixed in RO water.
Once I take tops for clones moving them into flower by the 1st.
This is to sex them and grow the clones as if they were worth keeping. If these are male I don't wanna waste time vegging till they show on their own. Additionally if they go intersex I can just get rid of the clones.
Day 15/May 27:
So here we go The babies been topped and thrown into the big tent. They will be turning to flower Sun May 31st. This is to sex them.
The clones were small and also my first time. I did a lot of research so hope it goes well. If these don't take and either are female I can also just take monster crop clones or revert them so not gonna stress. It was some weird purple bag seed anyway.
Day 20/June 1:
So they are beginning to take off and grow new leaves. They are kinda funky though and I am not sure if it's genetic or from the early topping. This will be interesting. Will post a question later with close ups.
So anyone seeing these mutants for the first time understands. These were some purple bag seeds a friend gave me and I popped for giggles. I topped and cloned them last week and this is their recovery.
The clones are doing the play dead phase so don't care.
Also these seem to be mutants. S2 has a node beginning at where the stem meets the actual fan leaf (like on top of the leaf). The other one S3 is doing some funky stuff as well.
Even if they turn out to be stable females will probably end the clones whether they make it or not.
Day 7/June 6:
End of week one in 12/12 and still now sign of sexing. I am sure it is gonna take a bit as they are super young. The mutation has yet to manifest again as of yet and they seem to be stabalizing.
Keep it green Growmies!
Hi!
Yes that is a mutation and it has a name too but too lazy to check atm
In flowering the leaves might grow buds too but theu are just popcorn and taking energy from the real ones so I'd say to pluck them when flowering
June 7/Day 8:
So they are growing just fine. Neither have displayed any sexing whatsoever. Will continue to just watch carefully and anything resembling a male will be hacked.
June 10/Day 11:
Still not sexing. S2 clone was too small I think and did not really take so was removed. For giggles Put S3's clone in a pot on our porch to see what happens...don't care too much but if the parent is a girl then maybe worth repotting and bringing back inside.
June 12/Day 13:
So killed Both S3 and S3's Clone as they were males. S2, "The Mutant", has still not showed any signs of sexing. This plant is the last hope of 5 bag seeds...lol. Oddly the mutation has not showed itself again. If I see female sexing I will take a clone just to see what she could have been.
June 15/Day 16:
We continue to watch for signs of sexing. This little one is shy. Just taking it's sweet old time about showing off their goodies. Interestingly fed her the 3 week feed for my big girls and no nute burn...huh.
June 17/Day 18:
Believe this plant is showing signs of being male. I honestly wouldn't be surprised. I had my very first grow pop all males(from bag seed) and wasted a lot of time but learned a good bit about growing. More bag seed = more males. I don't even mind this time as I have the LCH thing going. Be aware that this diary will probably meet it's end soon. Sorry guys. Of not one other leaf did a strange "duck foot" kinda thing will post a picture later.
June 18/Day 19:
So what I thought were nuts forming have begun to produce pistols (I think lol). Gonna let this mutant ride a bit more. If it turns definitively female I will Supercrop clone her.
Oh yeah....Her name is Violet now😃
June 19/Day 20:
Found them pistols so will be taking off her lower branches and making clones. They are of a good size and with the flower nutes she just got should take fast.
June 21/Day 22:
Growing along fine and handling the nutes like a champ. Will be taking my cutting from her tomorrow. Will also take a picture of the "webbed" leaf.
June 22/Day 1-23:
Took cuttings and have started the cloning of them.
June 23/Day 24:
Violet is growing just fine and super hairy.......like its weird to me.
June 25/Day 26:
So every 4rth or 5th fan lief it has one strange twisted leaf *Leaf1*, Super long hairs out of the bud sites, had another anomaly leaf looks kinda webbed *Leaf 2* plus the odd thing with the leaf trying to be a bud site at the beginning of the grow..
This has been interesting if nothing else. If i could get that leaf 2 to replicate consistently would be great for guerilla grows.
June 29/Day 30:
So this little monster is stretchy as hell. Looooong white pistols that seem really thin for what I am used to. Fed with the ladies as usual. Curious to see how she develops. Her clones are doing well and spotted roots in one last night. Their domes are removed. If the reversal of Rose to Romeo works I will probably reverse a branch on one of the clones and self it. Will get some pics of the clones and roots later.
July 4/Day 35:
She has some Nitrogen toxicity. Leaves waxy, dark and curling down. Just gonna water seaweed for awhile. She is growing well though for being so small to start.
July 8/Day 39:
Violet is doing fine. Just a bit sad for what I wanted. I knew when doing this this plant would not a producer. Wanted to ensure I had female genes to work with and this will be interesting. Her supercrop clone is doing well and transplanted today.
July 11/Day 42:
Growing and starting to recover from heavy handed nutes lol. Will be fine just curious as to taste and smell...
July 14/Day 45-23:
Clone is doing the thing where the new growth is odd to look at. This is normal for super-crop clones I have read. Violet herself is finally putting on some mass. Can't wait to see if she turns purple.
So Violet is drying up so fast in her 1 gallon. The clone is doing just fine and should filly be reverted to veg soon. Violet herself will just me chopped down with the LCH ladies. Can't pinpoint a smell or anything really off of her.
