Its the start of week 5, and the plants are getting very bushy. Have been watering just about every other day and have kept a solid 20/4 light schedule. The last week was making adjustments on LST as well as precision defoliation on fan leaves that were hiding new growth. This week I plan on letting the plants do their own thing and grow like "weeds" I'm hoping they turn to flower soon because I am on a tight timeline with a move at the end of July...

I have rust spots growing on some of the fan leaves of the Northern Lights auto. None of the other plants in the tent seem to be having the same effects. All are fed and watered at the same rate. I assume it is some sort of deficiency however I dont know what it is. Any help?

I second redbeardgrows comment on checking your mediums PH level. I had a similar problem with a blueberry auto that I'm currently growing, my waters PH was always between 6.2 to 6.5 but my mediums PH was literally 5.2 to 5.6 in all 4 of my plants (in soil) I got myself some crushed limestone, and within 2 days I noticed them all come back to health quickly, its been 4 days now and they look healthier than ever so I'm sure when I recheck my PH itll be back up where it should be. Mine only began flowering a week ago and they are now 7.5 weeks old. Looking very good for your first grow mate, this is my first indoor grow but I've had several outdoor. Looking forward to seeing you harvest . As the other guy mentioned, adding some cal-mag wouldnt hurt either, I add it to all my nutrient solutions now just to be safer and keep them healthier :) (I got a mag deficiency, but turns out it was from nutrition lockout due to low ph) Happy growing!

have you checked your medium's PH? I saw in a video dude was having a similar problem and it turned out the soil PH was up around 7.5 even tho he'd been watering 6.0-6.5. Hope they get better soon bud!

I would say you have high temperature and humidity in the tent. Try to reduce it. I might as well reduce nutrients and try to add them cal mag.

@AGrowerNotAShower, I thought about the same thing. I only have been doing these experiments because I honestly dont care about this grow and am only using it to learn lessons. I was shocked as well about how well they responded to them. Keep in mind, I only topped two and the other 4 I used various forms of LST. But the pictures prove, the topped autos are absolutely remarkable. I only removed maybe one or two fans from each plant, and only the ones that were directly blocking future bud sights or new growth. I didnt notice any stress change in the plants after this and the new growth areas are thanking me for giving them light.

Hey. I have a similar grow with autos from ILGM. I was going to skip all HST to avoid hurting my plants, but after seeing yours I regret not topping them. Your plants are looking great. If you don’t mind me asking, around how many fan leaves did you remove? Some of the bigger leaves are blocking a good amount of light on mine. Thanks in advance and happy growing.

@SquishyTiger, Same. I wanted to mess around with them a bit, but I still wanted a decent yield. I’m definitely topping in my next grow though. Thanks again for the help.

Nice journal! When did you start LST?

@@jcbud, I just tied them down this morning. I topped two of the strongest ones to experiment with them. This is my first grow so I want to see the difference between topping and not topping autos.
