6 days old from sprouting in pic. Just a Solo cup of Foxfarm Ocean Forest (70%) and Perlite. I soaked the soil in Ice Mountain before I placed the germinated seed in. Watered lightly once on Day 2 to keep moist, it had been 4 days since watering soil in prep for sewing, but it’s been 5 days now, will water tomorrow, Ice mountain only, no nutes yet. Note: Tap water here is too alkaline here to use until I start adding nutes and it naturally goes down to low sixes.
I think I got the freak Type-B Indica pheno! She’s growing so fast Day 12 came and she looked ready for the transplant. Still just Ice Mountain once more after the transplant then on to nutes.
What amazing genetics! The trunk on this hag at 21 days could support a huge cola right now! Underneath the lateral growth is happening without any sun, the giant fan leaves from this obvious Indica dom are preventing any light from getting down there. Once we flower I’ll use those branches for clones and keep that central kola going. This is a rare plant, I feel fortunate to be working with a powerful plant like this.
Busy week. She showed overwater symptoms so I got a Gro pro leveler to get the pot up off the bottom. I think it was too wet and these smart pots need to be elevated in order to let air underneath.
She also outgrew her 1 gallon and made it into the 3 gallon before any rootbounding. After a couple days we then Fimmed and trimmed her to start the branching we’ll need for our Scrog. I’ll take a couple fan leaves a day to transition her into multi branching, and to allow the low branches to get the light they need to grow.
To keep it low stress I’m doing all of these stress things in one week so we can get over it and Veg hard for 2 weeks before we flip.
Recovery week after trim and FIM. Finished removing fan leaves from Jackie. Showing the whole garden here. Jackie is back-right. Other small plant is Amnesia, the right front is Banana Kush, and the other 2 are Gorilla Glue.
This week I took a few clones while I still could, didn’t want them too far into flowering. Normal week of (vigorous) growing in our Scrog canopy. Very surprised how quick she grew her leaves back after the defoliate.
The clone rooted quite quickly and has shown amazing vigor. It was reintroduced and will begin flowering immediately. It will still get 10 days of Veg while the plant figures out that it’s Fall time in here. (before it truly starts flowering)
Time for the stretch! Lots of flowering growth happening now. I can see where the bud spots will be so I’m going to have to stop moving the branching around in the Scrog, also the branches are getting thick and less pliable.
@Growingkitten, the Mars Hydro TS series are amazing!! So little heat and so much light! I got the 600 first ($89) and loved in the 2x2 but I wanted to get a little brighter. The TS 1000 is only 100watts but more equal to like a 400watt hps. I would highly recommend them!! Get the TS though, they have the dual red/blue spectrum and the UV as well.
