They sprouted on 1-27-18 so it's day 4-5 from sprout and a week from germination. Planted directly in 3 gal smart pot and will be running blumats again with pure coco.
Everything is good with these two, a little slow out the gates but should get some heavy growth this week now that they have developed a solid root system
The second one is gonna be a beast after the stretch I bet. Hungry for calmag, I've been given full strength doses the whole time and they show signs of deficiency. I don't think it's lock out as I've been watering til 20 percent run off. Taking 1100 plus ppm np on feeds might bump it up a little
One is huge the other is small and thick and still hasn't flowered. Little one is weird, this strain reminds me of gorilla glue, real bushy and thick almost strangled itself
Doing a combo of hand watering and drip system. These are on day 68 from germination I think. Little one is the smallest in the tent and the big one is biggest
First one is a monster, it's over 2 feet in diameter and a perfect circle i love the way its built up but has a bit of calmag deficiency even tho I've been giving it full strength doses since day 1. Second one is moving very slowly, tucked into the corner of the tent cuz it's the 2nd smallest of the crop it's not gettin great airflow or light. Everything is overlapping at this point so I'm out of options just have to let them go and hope for the best.
Almost ready for a flush on the big one, the other one isn't even close yet really and much smaller as its tucked in the corner of the tent most of the time. Smell right now is subtle piney.
This strain is reminiscent of the cali snow, not really sugar on tthe leaves but the buds are jammin. Has a very piney earthy smell at this point. The branches are starting to bend from the weight of the bugs so its taking up over 2x2 sq feet. The small one is far behind it was stunted in the corner.
Chopped big one 5.4.18. Noticed on the chop that the 3 gal pot was barely half full probly 2.25 gal of coco. That just goes to show how amazing coco coir is to produce a plant of that size in such a small pot. The second one is still goin almost time for flush. The smell is strong of pine with a tangy kick it's very nice. Reminds me so much of the cali snow even the smell but especially bud and plant structure.
The first one is pretty much done just have a little more to trim but can tell i won't be disappointed with the yield. The second one is getting chopped today and really improved towards the end of bloom. I'll probly have to wait to log the results until the second one is dry so it might be another week to 10 days but I'll go as quick as possible. 1st one is alot like cali snow all around down to aroma. The last pics are of the root ball of #1 it's insane that such a big plant could come from so little coco.
This was an easy strain to grow, great yields with 290g and 136g, awesome mellow smoke, subtle but intriguing creamy vanilla scent and seemingly consistent. The nugs are rock solid and from the heads to the lowers very consistent. They were also easy to trim if you give a shit about that. Both plants were untrained for the most part aside from defoliation and a slight bend in the main stalk. My only complaint would be the time it took to mature and the little one randomly hit a speed bump and stopped growing right in the middle for some reason. I really enjoy the smoke tho and the feel of the nugs. It may vary from person to person but the high gets me mellow and relaxed but not so much where I cant continue on with my shit. I have been smoking this more than the others mostly because it doesnt make me anxious af all. It's not ridiculously potent I believe the avg. Thc content is around 18% on this one and that feels about right. I'd reccomend this to new growers and for those who are looking for some sort of medical related relief.
Easy to grow, big yield potential, rock solid buds, great smoke, smell is about 7/10 in terms of potency, high is the best part, may not be a quick finisher depending on training methods and environment. Would grow again but not immediately
Hello sorry for my English. Your girls look beautiful. I have a question, I hope you can help me. Why do you cut the leaves in that way? What's the difference that makes? In starting my first grow and in trying to learn as much as I can.
@Hawkbo, thanks a lot, I understood almost everything, some words I have to look it up, you explained it perfect. Thank for take the time. I am amazed by all of yours diaries.
@canngabis, thank you, I was just experimenting cuz usually I just defoliate to open up lower bud sites so they can grow as close to even as possible with the main cola. This run instead of pulling the leaves off at the base of the stem (petiole) I did what people normally do with cuttings and cut the leaves in half. This way there are more fan leaves that are still on the plant which basically act as solar panels to transfer the energy of the light to the plant. So cutting the leaves in half gives more light exposure to lower bud sites and opens the canopy a bit without yanking all the big fan leaves. I think a combination of both is my preference but I also do it to conserve space. Alot of times fan leaves from one plant will blanket the side branches of another plant if they are close together so I will either pull them off or cut them. Cutting them like that definitely has its advantages in the early stages when there are minimal fan leaves around week 2 or 3. Hard to explain in detail but basically that's why
How do I get my plants to look like that when I flower? 1st time grower, been using Lst and a little fim'ing but havent done much trimming other than taking a few clones in case I screw up at some point. That's impressive shape u have there and I'm worthless as a human until I can do that too haha.
@Hawkbo,
Thanks man. So I guess I'll just keep doing what I've been doing then, cuz that's what I'm doing lol. Getting the hang of Lst though. My 2 are about 7" tall and 18"-22" wide. Gotta flower soon cuz I'll be outta room.
@Beans, haha it takes time bro honestly I dont really know, mine just come out like they do I dont really have any special technique and I do things differently every run depending on how the plants are growing and responding to what I do and when i do it. It may just be a combination of training, medium, environment, nutrients etc. I prefer smaller pots so I can feed daily and have more control. I really try to train plants to maximize my space whether its defoliating or lst or even tieing side branches back to the mainstalk so they dont flop out and take up too much space. Just try different things on each plant and find a system that works best for you it takes a little time but it will come
@WUKONG, just to open up the canopy a bit for light penetration and air flow without removing the leaf completely it seems to be less stressful on the plant but I could be wrong just makes me feel a little better about it
You, sir, may be the most consistent grower here, as your plants share a similar look regardless of strain.
While everyone looks on in envy, wanting to know your scientific secrets, I submit it can be the intangible that accounts for success. And that intangible is the grower’s personal energy. Your plants love being cared for by you, that is clear.
Congrats on a nice harvest. The 22 hour light schedule is something I've not seen before. I recently bumped up to 20 and have been following a guy on YouTube growing huge plants at 24. I'd love to see some sort of controlled study comparing light schedules but can't find one.
@Darkmanx, Haha that's a good idea, I could do it but then I'd have to fill 2 4x8's with all autos and I just started a bunch of regs maybe the run after I'll try it
Great work as usual. Ive been watching your work. This is going to be tough competition for DOM. Hopefully we will both be in the top 10. I was impressed with diary. Theres more competition then I thought. Yours is for sure some of my toughtest competition.
Your grow reports make my plants feel bad about themselves man, mine are midgets compared to yours... Never seen ANYBODY grow beasts like you do and these are just autos... You should try doing a photoperiodic strain, you'll kill it. Hawkbo aka king of growdiaries cheers bro
@Wifi_OG, Haha thanks man I appreciate it, i actually got some photoperiods goin, cookiefi, jellybreath, apricot jelly, dionysus, jellybreathxpurplepunch
@909HighRoller, Haha thanks bro idk about that much but probly sround 250 300, the smaller one maybe 130. I'll take it tho the quality turned out better than I expected
Hi there! I had a question; I’m growing a big bud autoflowering strain and it looks they’ve started a little slow and around your third week it looks like yours took off; did you do anything special or any certain nutrient to really help yours take off?! Thank you in advance.
-FirstTime
@FirstTimeGrower, sorry man I just saw this now, about the 3rd week the roots really start to establish and the plants do a pre flower surge of growth usually. I just started using robots excellerator from house and garden and have noticed a big difference roots really explode with it. Compared to rhizotonic the roots excel is better in my opinion but both are pretty expensive but worth it.
