Royal Queen Seeds - Quick One
The smell - Interesting, like a strong herb mix with light hints of a tropical fruit / squashed banana on the fingers after handling buds.
The smoke - Very smooth, herby & earthy being the main flavours with hints of wood & pine. Very tasty & can be a flooring level of strong if you smoke alot in one sitting.
High - Slow rolling into the front of the head & nicely cerebral leading to relaxed vibes & body. Giggly & mellow & easy to lock into a movie or send you into a deep sleep. Indica heavy in my opinion & quite enjoyable with medium levels of THC. The only "downside" is a strong hit of the munchies ha
First proper grow implementing the range of Professors Nutrients & following their grow schedule. I'm happy with the results but being the 1st grow using it's hard to say whether they made any difference. I'll be able to gauge better on my next harvest, but overall I'm a happy customer!
Well that was anything but Quick! I bought this particular seed based on the name, but the Ruderalis genetics didn't kick in for me turning it into more of a slow one. However I had a lot of fun & being a novice grower it taught me a whole lot from start to finish & I'll be able to transfer that knowledge to future grows.
I had a range of issues from early on including not feeding correctly as I was used to growing in soil vs coco, budrot in the later days, overwatering, broken stems, mould inside 1 stem, a late repotting, fungus gnats, high humidity & probably way more defoliation than was needed. So with all these thrashings she took I'm glad I ended up with anything at all ha!
Onto the positives though, she was hardy to the things I put her through & responded beautifully to LST & ended up with a nice round shape.
In my last week of flower I had to unfortunately cut her down slightly earlier than I had wanted too due to me discovering 1 cracked stem with signs of mould in the internode & also budrot on another cola. So she wasn't as plump & yellowed due to flushing but it was better than losing anymore bud so late in the game. But after such a long time it was nice to see her come down.
Trimming went well with 26.5g of leaf / mini buds being set aside for edibles & the main buds being rigged up with skewers through the stems to dry in my makeshift dry box (my vintage steriogram ha).
Drying took around 5-6 days leaving me with 32.5g of gorgeous, fluffy buds. It's been my biggest yield to date so I'm pretty happy with those results. They've now been set aside in 3 jars with humidity regulators to cure & I am really looking forward to the first cured taste test!
Now that's not to say I haven't tasted it already 😏
In summary I am happy with yeilding just over an Ounce & look forward to growing my remaining seed of this strain in the near future & hoping it responds as an Auto!
Bit of a newbie question. I'm just starting to show signs of flowering & I've been using Professors Nutrients Part A + B to feed.
I'm about to start using Flower Boost , Professors Organic Bloom & Terpene Gold. Do I just use the later 3? Or do I use Part A + B plus the 3 others?
P.S.
If you want to you can opt for dropping the A and the B once you're into the flowering phase and stick with just the bloom, boost, gold. You might end up wanting to do that just to eliminate having to use so many different bottles and really those 3 have basically everything you need for the flowering phase..... vegetative phase not.
Happy growing.
I cant help to see that you have a 12/12 schedule while flowering. This is for photoperiod plants.. Autoflowers are fine with 18/6 20/4 or even 24/0. (Right) light is weight :)
@Deceptive, I’m having a similar issue I think. Most grows of this strain are seed to harvest in 11 weeks... but I’m on week 7 and no flower. Do you think the plant was a photoperiod? I’m wondering if I need to flip my lights...
Hello fellow grower,
Newbie Gardner here!
Just saw your pictures and diary and to be honest got really excited about this strain. We are now kicking off the 4th week, full flowering stage and I was a bit disappointed because the stems are so distant ones from anothers. I'm more used to bushy flowers however seeing yours just got my hope back on track. Keep on the brilliant work there.
Happy growing 👌🏻🙏
@Cgrow, Thanks! Mine got super leafy & lush just before flowering & it looks like they might "bush up" in your case. I'm jealous yours flowered so early, they look super healthy, good work!
Mines been the slow & steady, not like a normal Autoflower. But hopefully the extra grow time equates to a bigger yield!
Good luck with the rest of your grow
