Here is my first grow in 8 years! I never knew too much about growing but now I feel the need to learn as much as I can and grow the best plants I possibly can!
That being said. I am still planning my grow setup but can't wait to get started! So I pulled out an old setup I used a year or so back for some other plants and have started this little DIY ish grow.
I have a 150w CFL in a 40x40 tent. Using soil and a pot I found in my back yard, nothing special.
Also some old Formulex around I can use.
This grow is totally for fun and to learn from before moving onto my larger 4 plant setup I am currently building !
So if you want to see low yields and tears come along for the ride! ;)
Started feeding a little.
Not much to say at this stage really.
Thinking about lighting options for the rest of the grow and may get a 400w LED from a friend for VERY cheap. 400w alongside my 150 will hopefully be able to produce something!
The plant has been topped and recovered nicely. Photos to come....
She's short. But hopefully the new light will start helping her out although I do worry its too late.... any advice would be highly appreciated. This whole grow is about learning!
The new light went in 3 days ago from the Day 20 pictures and the light is a Roleadro COB 400W LED!
After opening my tent on week 3 I discovered my thermometer had fallen down and broke a side branch off. She came back nicely but i still feel pretty stupid about the whole thing. At least it won't happen again. I'm gluing that little guy on good.
In other news my new setup is half ordered! So I shall be updating a new diary soon with 4 autos so I am super excited about that :)
Hope everyone's grows are going well! ✌️🏼
Started flowering nutrients and I did move her into a fabric pot due to issues with the soil I am using, it holds on to water for far too long and the plastic pot really wasn't helping, I can water more frequently now and have noticed a good difference in the time it takes to dry out.
Already have canna terra soil with extra added perlite sorted for the next grow, also in 1-2 days she will be going under a 600w hps! I'm super excited to get the new setup going.
fitted a rvk fan and light cooling tube, just waiting on bulb and ballast, I will add photos once it's all fitted!
she's under 400w instead of 600w as planned due to heat issues, soon to be resolved I hope ! added some cal mag as I had a bit of yellowing on some leaves although I think it was down to heat, tied down some outer branches to open up the plant a bit, it's full of little buds starting, I do worry that she's a bit behind compared to others at this many days, all I can do is wait and see at this point I assume!
that's not that short for soil tbh it all comes down to oxygenation during early veg as per my earlier comment
you're doing fine bud trust me
e: also keep in mind when discussing your light that that "400W" is an approximation of how it's supposed to stack up to oldschool bulb lighting and frankly always a load of marketing BS. the roleadro 400 pulls 200W from the wall and you should use that number to calculate your grams per watt as well =)
doing great! especially for a first grow! liked and followed!
looks like she's having a hard time getting air to roots in that big 7 gal, but she'll get over it... might be a tad slow esp if there's not perlite under there. watch extra for overwatering!
@Jaindoh, Thank you! Perlite has gone on the shopping list for my next grow now that's for sure! and im keeping a strict eye on watering, this soil holds onto water for so long also...
Thanks for following :)
