Mainly human error ๐
I was going to defoliate and top anyway this week but i found that ive got thrip!!
Sprayed plants with 1 teaspoon of fairy up liquid to a ltr of water to treat thrip but now its burnt all the leaves.
Ive used insecticides before but have had no luck so Im going to try using predators (ladybirds) to treat the thrip.

Set myself back a little so just let these girls pick up the next couple weeks ๐ค

Still have a slight thrip problem but its definitely not getting any worse ๐
Upped the base feed by 0.5ml per ltr
Gave a little defoliation, the odd lollipop and some LST
Getting a nice even canopy coming along
Think ill start flower this next week as ive got 18 plants in a 1.2 x 2.4 tent
Might get a bit cramped ๐

I had a little struggle in the beginning with thrip but with the help from ladybirds i managed to get then gone and had a healthy grow ๐

Fairy liquid bad for plants..
Horticultural Gentle soap used for plants is what you need...
but the only reason I would use this is if I was adding neem oil to the sprayer as well, it wonโt do anything just the soap on itโs own.
Did you order the lady bugs? You will need a lot as they can only eat like 5 thrips in a day so if you have only 1 lady bug and 500 thrips itโs not going to help ;) good luck bruva

@Ganjaman420UK, after researching further... you want to order some mature ladybug larvae as they can eat 10x the amount of a adult which is apparently 25-50 per day so large larvae could eat 250+ a day hard to believe tbh But hey ho thatโs what the internet says :)
One trick for thrips is to keep the substrate as dry as possible. But you have to be careful about the health of the plants.
Also, a dry environment will make it difficult for thrips to develop.

Need to get them gone as don't like the thought of them possibly giving the plants or me a disease!

@Ganjaman420UK, I'm so sorry to see you've got thrips (I'm really interested in growing tropicanna poison and am following the few diaries that are). Thrips and fungus gnats are somewhat similar - when I had a bad case of fungus gnats, I solved it by putting a thick (inch+) layer of sand on top of the soil I was growing in at the time. The gnats couldn't burrow down beneath the sand. I was also very good about picking up any plant matter that fell off.
