First time germinating and planting from seed. All 5 girls successfully sprouted. I have them under 2 60w full spectrum LED grow lights. They definitely seem to be stretching. They are about 3 inches tall after sprouting only a few days ago. I lowered the lights a bit more today and might have to add another light. I hear stretching isn’t always bad? As in it can spread the flowers a bit. This year I’m doing all organic soil and fertilizers. I’m hoping this will make the buds taste better and also be less work than coco. Also chose to do auto since I got owned by the fall rain last year. Live and learn

Slowly getting there. A couple leaves are twisted in a weird way. I’m wondering if it’s to do with not getting enough light? I’ve put them out in the sun twice now on partly cloudy days. Otherwise we’ve had mostly rain here. This week should have more sun and will let them out more. Other than that all seems well.

A couple plants have twisted leaves. I’m thinking it’s a light issue? I’ve been watering every other day (when dry) so don’t think it’s that. I have 2 60w full spectrum LED lights a few inches away. Might not be enough but I’ll be putting them outside once we get some sun.

anyway, give it time before reacting to this. I've seen many twisted 1-blade serrated leaves. could be pH related or heat. Be carefuly when watering so al not to drastically shift and disturbe the soil, thereby hindering or damaging roots. if you've been fertilizing, relax until the cotyledons start to fade. your soil likely is loaded for a while.

Huge growth spurt this week. Largely due to finally getting some sunshine and introducing the plants to outside. I also sprayed them with “Natural Alternatives Growth Plus” foliage spray which seemed to really work. Today will be the first full day and night I leave them outside. Weather is good enough this week and night temp is around 15 Celsius. This is the first week they’ve started to smell and it suddenly came on strong. Perfect time to move them outdoors.

I’m using Blue Sky Organics Super Soil in a 3 Gallon pot. Just curious if/when I should add any more fertilizer? I figured it would have enough to last a few weeks at least. I’m thinking of adding bat guano at some point. Maybe once they start flowering?

unless you keep re-potting or use huge pots, the tank runs out eventually (nutrients). i'd read the plant and react as you likely typically do. always safer to wait for a hint of fade at bottom. then start slowly and work your way up to whatever normal strength is for your products and context. if plant never shows signs of deficiency and grows vigorously.. no need. impossible to put a clock to it in our contexts. you've got a blemish or two, bt i have no idea what they are, for example, and difficult to know what is in soil to start. always a little trial and error as you go.

Another decent week of weather and the girls are growing well. Almost doubled in size this week. Might be the Pre-flower stretch as they’re 4 weeks into it now. Because of the growth spurt, I’ve started to notice the bottom leaves are yellow/ brown. I started adding bat guano this week at 1/4 strength But may need to do full strength. My understanding is that bat guano rarely burns plants unless used excessively. Heading out of town for a few days for Canada Day 🇨🇦 Weekend. Hopefully there’s a day or two of rain to keep em hydrated while I’m gone. Always a bit nervous when I leave town. I’m still not sure when the timeline actually starts. When the instructions say 75 days to harvest, does that mean as soon as the seed is planted?

Got back from vacay and the girls look healthy. Grew a bit over the last few days but not as big of a spurt as last week. I’m starting to see some white pistils on a couple. Next week will definitely be posting as flower. Blue Dream looks to be growing the slowest of all. Looks about half the size of the other girls. We did have a few days of rain so I’m wondering if it’s overwatered or root issues. The other plants all look healthy and about the same size. Been feeding with bat guano every few days. Plants all seem to be enjoying it so far.

Blue Dream has been growing much slower and is about half the size. All 5 plants have had the same conditions and feeding. Any thoughts on what could be the issue? We have been having some rain so I’m wondering if It’s overwatered? Looks healthy besides being slow. Thanks

Ye like mentioned not all seeds have the same genetics. Usually when the upper growth slows down it means that its establishing its rootzone a bit further. You say you had rain, probably some wind as well, exposing the plant to such conditions will trigger a response such as increase the rootzone so its grasp with the earth is better and wont get damaged or uprooted by winds. After its finished adjusting itself for a better grip its gonna explode in upward growth. Its absolutely normal, i wouldnt worry ^_^

Definitely flowering this week. Every plant has lots of white pistils and getting bushier by the day. Love this part of the grow! Finally getting some good sun now too and temperatures should be right in the ideal range for flower. Looks like I’ll be able to be done by mid-late August which I was hoping for. Been feeding bat guano every couple of days. The girls are looking a bit hungrier lately. Most nutes from the super soil are probably used up by now. Hopefully this bat guano is enough to fuel flowering as I don’t really want to add anything else. I started tying the girls down to spread out the sun distribution a bit. Accidentally super cropped 2 of them but the stems didn’t break. I’m hoping it didn’t stress them too much as I’ve read that could cause problems in flower. Also read some ppl super cropped in flower with no issues so who knows! Stay safe and take care ✌️

Solid week of sunshine and lots more to come. Really starting to see the buds develop now. Most girls look fairly healthy but are showing some sign of nitrogen deficiency. I don’t think they’ll need any more of it at this point as they are in full bloom. I’m hoping the bat guano I picked up has enough flower nutrients to keep em happy. The bottle doesn’t actually say any percentages but says it’s meant for flower. I guess we’ll see what happens. I’ve been adding bat guano every watering which may be excessive but they’ve looked hungry. Can plants get burned from Organic fertilizers? I’ve read confusing opinions on that. Blue dream never did get the growth spurt I was hoping for and is still half the size of the others. I think it needed more nutrients than what was available.

Cheez has a leaf tip that turned brown. I noticed on the top flower that some of the small leaves on the bud have brown tips as well (first 2 pictures). I’m assuming nutrient burn? I’ve only been using bat guano but I guess a bit too much. No signs on the other plants.

It looks a little underfed to me. Under fed can also make your tips brown but their pale green first. I would get some bloom fert and feed at half what the bottle recommends. Cheers friend

Came back from a few days out of town and everything looks fine. Besides being a bit hungry. Buds are continuing to progress and starting to get stinky. Doesn’t look like I’ll get as much bud as I was hoping for, but I’m hoping the quality is at least there. Temps have been high 20’s all week and will continue for awhile. Should be perfect weather to finish these girls. Take care ✌️

Should I flush when using organic fertilizer? I’ve been adding some bat guano during flower and had super soil to start. I’m probably close to 2 weeks before harvest, maybe a bit more. Should I start to use only water from now on? The girls are showing deficiencies though.

In my opinion about flushing Flushing organic soil -you don’t need to flush organic soil. They are acting like slow release fertilizer for your plants. You will not get any toxicity in organic soil as long as your soil is in proper pH range.By flushing,You only wash away minerals like beneficial bacteria and microorganisms from soil. Flushing inorganic soil or soilless medium -Not like the organic soil,When you flush inorganic soil or soilless medium, You will wash away everything you feed that are still in your medium. So most grower did their flushing when it comes close to harvest.By doing that, plants will only get what is left in their system and start showing deficiency. When harvest, there will be nothing left of any inorganic material and you will get nice smell and taste buds.Another time for flushing inorganic soil or soilless medium is when you see some nutrient lock out followed by toxicity. That is due to improper soil pH and excess use of nutrients.By flushing, you will get rid of what’s excess in your medium and flush until your run off ppm show 0~50ppm and pH around 6.0~6.5.After that you need to feed your plant, the right nutrients types and right concentration in right pH range.Happy Growing... ✌️

The yards getting pretty stinky these days. Good thing I did auto this year. The whole neighborhood might be smelling if these were any bigger lol. Also stoked that the weather has been great for weeks so these girls should be getting all the sun they need to produce. Still adding bat guano regularly but may start flushing soon (except for blue dream which is very underfed). My understanding is that flushing isn’t necessary with organic fertilizers. But I figure one week couldn’t hurt. Most of the girls are looking fed enough to last on their own for a bit. I’m thinking I’m about 2 weeks before harvest. I hope so, then I can have some bud dried before our last summer trip. Perfect opportunity to sample some new goodies. Take care 🌱✌️

One more week until the chop! The buds are looking mature and beautiful and the yard smells great! I feel bad for my neighbors though lol. After going back and forth on this, I’m gonna feed bat guano one last time today. Then straight water for the rest of the week. The girls are looking very underfed and I want them to have a bit more nutes to finish strong. My understanding is there isn’t as much of a need to flush with organic ferts. Also, the fact that they’re clearly so underfed means there isn’t an excess anyways. One more week of straight sun to finish these girls off. I’ll be experimenting with washing the buds after chopping this year for a smoother taste.

Chop day! Day 76 since I planted the seeds. Trimmed the buds a bit before chopping then washed them. 3 buckets, one with lemon and baking soda. The other 2 just plain water. They definitely looked much cleaner and more plump after the wash. Will have to do a bit more of a trim once dried. I was getting lazy with it. Drying them in my shed with the door cracked. It’s a bit open to critters but should be dark and cool enough. Don’t have anywhere inside that I can dry so I hope this doesn’t screw things up. I’ll just have to check daily to make sure things are going well.

Does touching the buds at all while they’re drying reduce potency? I’ve been checking them daily and touch the odd one from time to time. Should I just leave them alone and focus on snapping a stem to determine if they’re dry enough?

Hey Growmie, I wouldn't advise doing it because the oils from your finger could rub off your trichomes, which will mess with the potency if you have to touch them touch one only and yes focus on the stem snapping to determine if it's dry enough. Hopefully, this answers your question and remember ..."Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time".
