Well, I started 5 Fastbuds 420Gelato Auto seeds and all 5 germinated but 2 of them decapitated themselves when seed shell wouldn't fall off. Luckily I also started my 2 Seedsman Strawberry Cheesecake Auto freebies so I'm adding one of the Cheescake with 3 Gelatos for this run.
2 of 3 of the Fastbuds Gelato are taking off nicely and I topped them after the 4th node. One of the gelatos is very small with some spots but looks like I could top it in another day. Not sure what is going on with this one so I'm going to take it day by day. My o e Seedsman Strawberry Cheesecake is doing nice but must have topped itself because I have to main colas. I might top again as I have some more time until flowering.
Still having trouble with what I think now is root rot. Never had it before , maybe resevoir temp has been a little high. I'm going to do a resevoir change this week as the plants appear to have started flowering. I'm going to add Hydroguard to my nutrient regimen to see if that helps with my leaf discoloration issue.
A couple of the Gelatos seem to be responding to the Hydroguard. The other 2 not so much. I'm going to flush this week and clean and start with fresh resevoir. The plants are definately flowering!
I ran an 18 hour flush with Florakleen t ho is week and the plants seemed to like it. The addition of Hydroguard seems to have cleared up my leaf issues. The grow is looking up and 2 of the Gelatos are really starting to flower.
Well its been a few weeks si ce my last update because I ran into some serious issues. First, the leaves just kept looking spotted, then I noticed I had aphids in my tent. WTF!!! I started to combat the aphids with The Amazing Dr. Zymes and a few lady bugs. I also used aphid control sticky strips to monitor. I think I finally have it under control. I pulled o e of my gelatos because it just wasn't flowering and I was trying to save the other plants. So, when I went to apply my first round of Dr Zymes I wanted to wait until the lights went out. So to my surprise, they never went out! WTF!!! Come to find out my timer contact was stuck on. Double whammy, aphids and plants under light 24-7 for who knows how long. Things are just now starting to look better but I'm running out of time. I'm sure yields will be affected. Oh well, live and learn.
Things are starting to straighten out...I hope. The Gelato is starting to thicken up. Trichomes are still clear so not sure how much longer. I did a 24 hour flush and am cutting nutrients, waiting to see some amber.
Considering I did just about everything to kill my plants, these Fastbuds 420 Gelato Autos, still produced! I wish I could have seen how these would have done under more optimal conditions.
Loved growing the Fastbuds 420 autos over my last couple of grows. I'm more than impressed with the Gelato I just finished up. I'll definitely grow the Fastbuds 420 autos again in the future but I'm ready to get back to a photo period grow. Next up, Barney's Farm, LSD. Stay tuned
I see you did everything good, i just think your PH-pen is broke. I see calmag lockout while u still give correct amounts. Better to use the PH liquid drops, i started using this since i had the same problems. Cant trust a ph pen
Dude, are you sure your problems are being caused by ph fluctuations ? What about root rot? Are roots looking thin and fragile? I'm running my first RDWC and I'm having problems with root rot. Leaf symptons from my plants look very similar to yours.
@August_West, yeah, I believe hydroguard will solve your issue. I also ordered it, but I don't live in the US and shipping has been a pain in the a.....in the meanwhile, I submerged roots under H2O2 @ 3% for an hour, painted reservoirs (they were kinda translucid), and added a new air pump, as the one I had was unsufficient for my setup. Water temp was fine. After that healthy new roots started growing from old ones and plants are growing nicely. Looks like in your case hydroguard will be sufficient. Hope your plants recover. Happy grow !!
I'm starting to think that because my ph has been just fine lately. Not sure why though, never had this problem before. I've ordered some hydroguard and am going to try it. Been thinking about adding Armor Si to my nutrient mix but that kind of sounds like a pain with having to add an hour before the other nutes. My roots look fine so not sure. Hopefully I figure it out and will help you too.
