Hawaii Maui Waui aka Baby Pegge

Day 2. Baby Pegge is born. Germinated in a jiffy pellet under cling film, then bought out onto dish of wet pebbles for humidity. I have no desire to make a grow room or put a ton of money into this venture at the moment. I just want to watch this baby grow and in a few months be able to smoke a homegrown J. Going all organic, eco as possible - minimal lights and gadgets. Just a shelf next to a big sunny window and a cfl bulb to keep her company during the night. Taking each stage as it comes, will likely end up using LST to keep her size down, but will read up on that when I get there. Wish me luck xoxo

Day 7. Made a massive blunder this week and misted my leaves when the light was on. It’s only a weak CFL bulb and I didn’t think it felt hot but I’m pretty sure I’ve burnt her. Luckily she’s still growing. Her roots started poking out the jiffy, so I went and repotted her into a 500ml pot of 75% coco 25% perlite. I’m also going to give her her first nutrients - 2ml of BioGrow by BioBizz in 1L of water. Let’s pray she makes it.

Day 15. Pegge is looking pretty good! There is some slight browning on her larger leaves - Looks like light burn I think. I had to remove 2 lower leaves that I totally fucked by spritzing her with the light on last week, so maybe it’s some burn left over from that blunder. I watered her once on repot day (Day 6) and she hasn’t felt dry enough to water again yet... I think when she’s potted into her larger container I’ll up the amount of perlite in my mix. Keeping her in the sunny window when it’s been shining! 🌞

Day 24. Pegge is looking good. Her leaves had continued to go crispy and brown but I realised that maybe she was burning in the direct sun in my windowsill, so since then I've kept her shaded but still in bright light. Still have the lamp on but moved it further away. She moved into her forever home today - a 12 L fabric pot. She'd not been drinking as much water as I had expected in the last container so I ramped up the perlite percentage in the new grow medium to about 25% so I'm hoping she'll get into a better wet dry cycle that way. I have noticed her leaves looking a little droopy after the repot but I'm hopeful that will settle by the morning once she gets comfy. Off to go stare at my plant for the rest of the night. xoxox

I have bought the lights much closer to her and she's seeming to love it. She's been growing like crazy considering she's under a tiny £6 light. She's still not drinking loads, I've been careful not to over water her which ends up usually meaning I'm watering about every 6 days with 1.5 litres of dechlorinated tap water and biobizz nutes. I was going to either top her or constrain her to keep her bushy but she's actually so pretty I don't want to disturb her - Pegge's just going to grow au naturel and we will see how it goes. I need to start thinking about my space bucket for flowering phase...any tips would be much appreciated. Love x

Pegge’s looking better than ever. Lots of new leaves are popping up in the older leaf joints (there must be a word for that). She’s got a slight smell of you put your nose to her, but the rooms not stinking yet. She’s not drinking as much still - so her nutrient intake is still low every week - only about 1.5 litres of water p/w atm. How do I know when to start flowering? She’s not an auto so need to build a space bucket asap. Our mushroom jars have finally started flourishing so the flat feels like a hive of activity. xox

Pegge's Palace has been constructed. Made from a black bin, a space blanket, 2 x £2 USB fans and 2 empty noodle cups. Shes great and livin life to the full.

Pegge’s Palace 2.0 Had to add some extra height to her space bin as she has quickly reached the top. She’s looking good but has tiny white spots on her leaves. I think she had a small infestation of spider mites. Given her a good hose with ,y shower and a major spray of neem oil. She now looks like a sulking teenager. I hope she forgives me. How long before I start seeing buds? 🥦

Buds are hereeeee

We have had a nightmare week. She starting getting clawed leaves after I upped her nutrients. So I flushed her, which seems to have helped. Except now she had yellowing crispy edges, and the leaves are beginning to curl inwards. I hadn’t been checking the PH but I bought PH test strips today and found her nutrient blend/my tap water is higher alkaline content than it should, so I’ve added half a lime to her nutrient mix to help get her acid up. I’m hoping sorting this will mean she can absorb her nutrients properly... if that is the problem. On top of that, I was away for the weekend and she managed to squash herself at the top for her space bin so she’s got a lot of bunched up growth at the top now. I’ve built her an extension now so hopefully she’ll have enough space to keep her happy. She got burnt on the lights too so I had to remove some leaves. But apart from that, lots of buds are forming. ITS GETTING EXCITING 🥦 xoxox

What are the tell tale signs that shes ready for the chop? 🥦

Lifes been totally manic, moved house and working like crazy, so shes been massively neglected. About to harvest her now, no idea if thats the right thing to but she hasnt changed much in weeks
