The MrJones Experiment. Tuesday 06.16.20 / Day 7 of Flowering - Fed and watered plants with Rootwise Mycrobe Complete instead of Recharge, took some great pictures for the update. Monday 06.15.20 / Day 6 of Flowering - nothing to report, just great progress with their growth. Sunday 06.14.20 / Day 5 of Week 6 Flowering, just a lazy grow room day, wanted to post an update of how well these Autflowers responded, after yesterday's massive torture :) now on cruise control, hope to see some chunky nugs! Saturday 06.13.20 / Day 4 of Week 6 Flowering Today I went chop-chop on the plants, I did their last MAIN training, bending and loli-popping, the pots were light so I fed them well, I finished off their day at the spa with a bit of MammothCannControl mixed with Optic's OverGrow, this can be used during lights on, after a pretty careful inspection of several leaves I did not see any living Spider Mites and only a very few dead ones, they turn very dark brown, I am very happy and feel that I can do down to a once every two weeks treatment (Yay!!) Friday 06.12.20 / Day 3 of Week 6 of Flowering plants are just thriving, love this training process, today is feeding and the watering day will also treat with CannControl Wednesday 06.10.20 Day 1 of Week 6 Flowering / just a quick update - topped this plant above the 6th node and when they grew out topped them again less than 5 days, I then topped the 2 side branches at the 5th node right below the 6th Node, cleaned all the side branching leaving 8 perfect colas, all this occurred during the 4th week, with that said week 5 was a recovery week and towards the end started to flower. now the girl is starting to flower and slightly stretching, I am sure I stunned these girls but I am hoping that it produces a nice grow, time will tell. 🌞 Environment / trying to maintain 80f Day / 72F nights - great airflow - light at about 30 inches 100% 💧 Feeding / BioBiz - Mammoth P and Recharge 🍃 Training / calling it Quick Line 🕷️ IPM / Revolving between, Green Cleaner and Mammoth Canncontrol these plants also had a few Spider Mites

💧 Feeding / Plants are looking like a small amount of potassium excess - Adjusting with plain H20 PHed at 6.2 until plants respond / newer leaves looking much better. Thursday 06.25.20 - Day 1 of Week 8 of Flower / Contenu watering with De-Chlorinated H20 PHed @ 6.2 Saturday 06.27.20 - Day 3 of Week 8 of Flower / Contenu watering with De-Chlorinated H20 PHed @ 6.2 - plants are still growing and doing well aside from the nutrient burn on several of the leaves. The buds are starting to grow, I would not be surprised to see this plant go 10/12 weeks. Sunday 06.28.20 - Day 4 of Week 8 of Flower / Contenu watering with De-Chlorinated H20 PHed @ 6.2 Monday 06.29.20 - Day 5 of Week 8 of Flower / Contenu watering with De-Chlorinated H20 PHed @ 6.2 Tuesday 06.30.20 - Day 6 of Week 8 of Flower / Contenu watering with De-Chlorinated H20 PHed @ 6.2, moved the plants around and gave them their own light, elevated plants to light - the buds are truly getting fat, and the whole plant is getting stick with Trichomes. Wednesday 07.01.20 - Day 7 of Week 8 of Flower / Contenu watering with De-Chlorinated H20 PHed @ 6.2

Topped and created an 8 cola mainline, the overall growth was very nice, but I am at crossroads with these autos, less is more with them. The last run without all this training performed so much better!

The buds just never fattened up, these were a bit airy, next time I just let them rip and see how it goes. Started with 540 Grams / Yielded only 102 Grams, was a very tight trim, buds do look very good! I will grow these again, very soon. These buds will cure for another few weeks, the smell is awesome!

MrJonescommented5 years ago
Thanks @Pajersey13, aside from the excess potassium i think they would even look better, I hope to carry that training process over to my MrJones FastBuds Gelato Grow #4 Grow, The buds at least are starting to get chunky though :0), just do not want to flush out all the microbes but suppose I will if by Tuesday they do not look better! You're Gorilla Glue looks badass and I am very excited to each the fruity pebbles grow, I may have to try that soon.

MrJonescommented5 years ago
Thanks, @Dday314, just took a peek at them after work today and they are all pointed up and growing - should be the last real training I have to do to them they should just produce some buds, and hope they get chunky, going to start 5 fresh seeds today and plan on the same training process, will try and document close - thanks so much for the like and looking at the diary :)

ChefSpliffcommentedweek 65 years ago
Ive got 2 auto seeds I usually dont top but I wanna try, this gives me hope. Was nervous if I topped more than twice i'm stressing her out. Do you top in more than once place a session or do you do 1 and allow it to recover?Obviously this would only occur the second or third time topping.
MrJones
MrJonescommented5 years ago
@ChefSpliff, I have always been ruff on my Autos, all I have truly grown, until recently "My Jedi Kush Grow" I find as long as the plants are growing fast then you can ruff them up a bit, this process requires only toping the main cola 2 times and the 2 side branches directly under the 1 time, truly whole process and recover should be less than a week, Week 4 seems to be the sweet spot, as in week 5 these girls often flower and the stretch is used to drive the manifolds - again this is only the first 2 attempts at this but will know more after these next seeds get planted. I am also in the culinary industry!

Looks nice and frosty ! How did you find your results topping and mainlining an auto vs just LST? Did you find it created a lot of stress for it or handled pretty well? Looks like a successful grow to me!
CloneKingz
CloneKingzcommented5 years ago
@MrJones, Hmm gotcha! I have always topped autos for some reason, should run one without topping and just lst to compare. I just recently switched from a peat mix with plastic pots to fabric with coco/perlite and love it. I find my plants are able to build bigger root systems and quicker than my old soil setup. Good luck with the ventures sir!
MrJones
MrJonescommented5 years ago
@@CloneKingz, I have been brutal on auto flowers, the ones that grow hard anyway, have to pick and choose your warriors carefully, this plant was topped but not mainlined, you see I let it get 6 nodes, the side branching on the 3rd and 4th node was really nice so I topped above the 4th node, then topped the 2 sides branching there and again on the side branching at the 3 nodes, each one of the 4 side branches produced 2 colas that I fashioned into the manifold look, all this was done before the end of the 4th week, by the end of the 5th week we had flower and the stretch - honestly they looked great but the yield was meh. So I will try the same process in an upcoming Cream mandarin Grow, thinking to grow 2/3 plants in COCO Coir using MEGACROP and see the difference between, I am just not a huge fan any longer of salt-based nutrients. Setting up a drain system to measure run off, PPM, EC seems like a pian, but nothing ventured nothing gained.

So beautiful 🏵️ I was thinking to grow this strain but I have small growroom 40x40 cm, so I have decided to grow fasberry now. If it's not hard for you, could you please measure width of the plant? Maybe I will try this strain next.

@MrJones, 14 inches across not so big for my growbox. I think it will fit perfectly. Thanks for your answer and your dairies really cool. So detailed and interesting :)
MrJones
MrJonescommented5 years ago
Thanks! @VanillaBud, the way I have this plant trained it is about 12 inches high and 12 to 14 inches across, each but is about 4 to 6 inches tall and 2 to 4 inches around - I think I could have yielded more with a SCROG doing 3 plants in 5-gallon Buckets - I do love the way it looks as well - thanks again for stopping by and taking time to comment!
