First week for the Slurricane in the veg tent - excellent growth so far with this lady, she filled up her solo cup quickly and I’ve moved her into a medium sized container. I’ll keep her in this container for the beginning stages of her training, this will also allow me time to cut some clones from her lower branches as they develop. I find doing this type of training while in the smaller container is more successful, it’s easier to maneuver while performing the work and also the plants root system dries out quicker which I think supports a happier plant and better growth. Happy Growing y’all, stay tuned to this diary, I’ve got a feeling she’s going to grow up to be a royal queen.
This week has been a good week of growth - I’ve added some Gaia Green all purpose to the promix which the plant has responded well too, I’ll be planting her into Fox Farms Happy Frog soil with some Gaia amendments for this run. This week I was able to cut 6 more clones off this lady, and she has now been cut down into the first major step in the mainlining adventure! She has taken the training well so far and seemed quite perky the next day, it’s always interesting to see what happens in the week after a stressful experience. I know she was happy and healthy going into the training & that is the best possible scenario for success! Happy Growing y’all, have a great week!
Great week of growth, getting thru the first few cuts quickly, plant is happy - seems to be enjoying the Gaia Green diet, she has provided plenty of clones and they are all rooting quickly & thriving, which is definitely a strong indication that the mother is healthy. Another quick update soon! Happy Growing y’all! 💪🏻🔥👊🏻
Slurricane update: coming along nicely, lots of rapid growth this week. I’ve got all 8 main branches formed, now it’s time to let them fill in and get ready for the flower tent. I’ve gotten all my clones cut from this pretty lady as well - they are all doing well in their mini containers, I will be doing a full tent run with these clones, I’ll be showing everyone how to grow a # in a 4x4 tent! If you’re interested in following their progress, be sure to check out my Instagram profile and you can follow along! Happy Growing y’all 🔥🚀💪🏻
Hey y’all, quick update this week on the slurricane. I’ve just moved her into the flower tent, she is in the midst of some strong growth and I think it’s time to flip her before she gets taller than I desire. All 8 main branches are strongly developed and it’s definitely time to start the show! Happy Growing y’all, see ya in a week!
Hey y’all! As you can see I’ve had a real productive week in the tent 💪🏻🔥🔥
The Slurricane genetics are nice, I noted the plant has been what I’d describe as ‘slow’ in terms of structural development while in the vegetative state, but now that she is into flower, the development has taken a noticeable uptick. This week is #2 of flower and she has now went through a nice little stretch and has kept producing many new growth sites along the way. Heading into week 3 I’d expect new growth to come to an end and the resin production should start to occur, maybe even appear... 🧐
Happy Growing y’all!! See ya next week 💪🏻🚀🙏🏻
Hey y’all! Flywalka here with the week 3 Slurricane update!
This beautiful lady has saw some great development this past week, notice there are many formative bud sites on the main branches, this is excellent news and should lead to some giant colas! She is looking super green and luscious at this point, I’m not really sure if she’ll need a top dressing during the flower cycle or not - I like to see my ladies drain themselves of all nutrients by the end of cycle. I’ve noted the resin production has begun, this week should see lots more development, I’ll be using some bamboo this week to open her up a bit and make sure the light is getting all the way down to those interior nugz.
Happy Growing y’all!! See ya next week 💪🏻🚀🙏🏻
Hey y’all, Flywalka here with the week 4 flower update, things are coming along nicely with this beautiful slurricane. To describe her growth so far, I’d say she’s been an enjoyable grow. Shes taken to the Gaia Green dry nutrients well throughout her life, At this point she is still full green and luscious. I’ve noted some of the lower the leaves have lightened in colour slightly, nothing alarming - still green. I’ll wait another week to see what happens and depending on what I see I may add another round of my amended soil mixture, to ensure she is happy right through to the end of cycle. She has started to resinate nicely now, some of the tops have quite a large amount of trichromes already forming - hopefully this pheno turns out to be a real glittery princess 👑
Happy Growing Y’all! 💪🏻🔥☀️🚀
Week 10 update! Frost is starting to show, pics are starting to really sparkle! Nutrition seems to be on point, I can see some yellowing of the largest fan leaves happening, which is normal at this point as she starts to drain herself of all nutrients. As this continues maybe she’ll treat us to a colour change? One can hope! Happy Growing y’all! 💪🏻🔥☀️📸
Week 6 flower update, everything is running very well, this queen is still nice and happy with her last Gaia Green dry amendment and everything is on track for a beautiful finish. I’ve been making sure the nigh time temps keep low (67/69🌡️) to see if she wants to show any new colours. The sparkle is really starting to glisten in these later weeks, I’m excited to see what kind of magic buzz glitter this lady can produce in the final weeks! Happy Growing y’all! See ya next week. ☀️💪🏻📷🌱
Excellent week of growth, this week I mixed in a coconut water / aloe mixture + a secret ingredient and it has really helped turned this lady into a stunner. Big fat gains this week! I’ve captured some excellent photos that I’ll be sure to attach in a later post after editing, this plant is absolute🔥: It might be the most stunningly beautiful strain I’ve ever personally grown. Enjoy the pics and I hope y’all have a great week of growth! See ya next week ☀️💪🏻🔥🌱
This queen has passed the 50 day mark, what an absolute stunner she is. In House Genetics recommends 60-70 days for flower, she appears to be real close to the finish line by my estimation. I’m gonna let her go to through the weekend and see how things develop into next week, I’m ready to take her down soon, and as you can see from the pics she is really swollen and the trichromes are changing quickly. Happy Growing y’all, see ya next week 💪🏻📸🔥🌱🇨🇦
The buds are absolutely gorgeous, the plants aren't what i would describe as heavy yielding, but what are very dense and compact. I will try and grow this strain again from clones and let them veg a little longer to encourage some more growth and hopefully it will result in a heavier yield.
absolute pleasure to grow the slurricane from in house genetics. I will definitely consider purchasing from them again as this is an extremely high quality product, it may not have been a heavy yielder - but this dope is dank!! Happy growing ya'll - hope you enjoy the pics!
Wow beautiful. I am new here. Previously a profesh-photographer. Curious what you used to take your trichome photographs. I have this cheap microscope I picked up but not impressed. I would love to have the clarity you have in these photos. If you don't mind? Those images are wonderful as are all the others too. You have the hang of it I'd say. LOL.
@Aromagurl, I’m happy to offer some suggestions that were helpful to me when using the microscope. First, I find it best to get the microscope in a position that is comfortable to hold and visualize its movements. Next tip I’d offer is that you can cut off a few small leaf tips and place them under the microscope, this way you can really zoom in and focus on the trichomes. Lastly is I always use extra light above and beyond the little led’s inside the microscope, I find the excess light really helps make the images pop. Good luck, hopefully the tips are helpful!
@Flywalka, I would really appreciate any advice that you have yes and THANK YOU. This is just a media I am not familiar with and feel so out of my element when working so "close-up". LOL. Fire away! haha.
@Aromagurl, I was able to have a look at the microscope that you shared and to be honest, it’s very similar to the model I am using. I am more than happy to offer some suggestions for capturing images with the microscope that will help improve quality, if that’s something your interested in?
@cheekiestsauce, hey! Sorry for the super late reply, I haven’t checked my diary in forever. To answer your question, in this specific grow I used a FF ocean forest as the base soil cut with roughly 30% worm castings and 20% perlite.
