6/29/2020 Gave them all a little soaking from the squirt bottle, closer to the seedling. I thought they were looking parched. The yellow on Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman concerned me, I added some Senie A 3-0-0, maybe 2ML to a 32 oz squirt bottle. Raised the lamp a little to see. For the most part, I'm pretty pleased with 4 days of progress. 6/25/2020 I planted too shallow. 5 are growing, #6 did not make it either. 5 out of 7. Solves the space problem a little... still... My partner came through with the HPS too. So there you see, my 1200 LED is 30" (approx) from the little guys, and the HPS is over the flowering guys. Thanks KC! So this is day 1. 6/24/2020 #6 went in the pot. #7 did not make it. That helps a little. 6/23/2020 Planted 1 2 3 4 5. 6 and 7 will probably be ready tomorrow. My soil is biobizz light with 1/4 perlite. I gave the seedling area one quick squirt from my sprayer before planting. I drowned seeds, and overwatered plants the last two times. 6/22/2020 All 7 seeds are showing root tails. Three will be 1" tomorrow and get planted. I shifted stuff around and have room for 7 pots. Grow tent in a month. 6/20/2020 Put the seeds in the paper towel two plates dark cabinet place. After 20 hour soak.

So, I ordered 5 seeds and got 7, and all germinated nicely, but I really wasn't planning on that many plants. I know I need a grow tent. Please peek at my last comment called Welcome to the Jungle... any suggestions... I know nothing... but I can learn.

Hey friend, So.. 7 plants is a lot, but really its all what you can handle. I know some people who run a perpetual auto harvest, where every 3 weeks they harvest 3, and germinate 3. I'd say to get that 60x60x70 up and going asap, it's the best way to keep a consistent and comfortable environment. There shouldn't be a problem fitting all 7 autos in there and then you'll know how much you want to run on future grows. I can run 3 in a 4x2x5 so you shouldn't have a problem with 7 in a 5x5x6. Good luck with the grow.✌️

In the pictures in my diary, the one with the droopy leaves - "What's wrong with Babycakes? "what's wrong? Looks like needs water but I watered it yesterday, still the same today. I have good color and new growth at the top.

It's crop king. Try, Checking your pH. Nitrogen is lacking Stick finger in the pot is it dry? Water until 3x pot run off. If it's wet hold off on watering

7/8 All look good. No food, no water, no LST today. Maybe a little spray later. 7/7 It was too early to LST. Sometimes the best thing I can remember is be patient and don't F with the plants unless they need it. And they prob. don't. So I un-LST all and am waiting til they get bigger. I actually broke the stem of 3 when I did this, but I taped her up and she seems OK. 7/6 Tried LST on 3 and 5. 7/6 feed them again, same formula, and regretted it. Not that they show any signs of abuse. I think only feed them once a week, water as needed between. Tried LST on 3, 5, 4 and 1. 2 is just not ready yet. Soon. Seems ok from the move. 7/5 I had to move #2 to a pot with more soil. Hated to do it. 7/4/20 split 1.5 GALS with 3ML Grow and 2ML Micro yesterday. I've been "spray" watering a little daily. Week 2 start. All are growing nicely. Split 2 GAL of distilled water with 2ml of Cal Mag between the 5 of them yesterday.

7/13 With zero experience, I think the LST is going well. Lots of bud sites opening up. 7/9 start week 3. 4 of 5 big enough to LST now. Think I'll replace the pipe cleaners with smaller and stronger tie wrap.

7/19 What a difference a couple days makes. My flat plants are going vertical in several places. 7/17 Start week 4. I think I still started LST early, but looks to me like I've added a good many bud sites to pop up. I have some seedlings in another grow, and I planted one of them closer to the edge of the pot so I have more room to LST it. 7/16 1/4 nutes

Your humidity is low ( despite it showing 60%) and N on higher levels, feed them with ph water for a week, no nutes, they should start to grow. Lst always gives small shock. Hope you do it before watering and no nutes . Give some love, spray leaves, don't take anything off and just let them grow. Maybe your light too intence, they don't want to stretch at all ??

7/31 I found the problem - not enough ventilation. Opened the doors to my tent and they came back to life. Since they are autos, they don't HAVE to have total darkness at dark times. Also, I'm on the coast in Alabama. Summer is NOT the time to grow weed, tent or no, in S. Alabama. Too hot and muggy. There's a stronger intake fan in my near future. 7/30 some of my plants are wilting. It KINDA looks like overwater, but I have 1/4 perlite, and the pan is empty. Temp is 77 and humidity is 53. I DO have my home A/C mixing a little cool air with the room air for light times. I have a cheesy little intake fan and a 700CFM output fan. Thinking of a better input for more ventilation. S. Alabama in the summer is not a good time to grow weed. Too hot or too much AC means too little humdity. 7/23 three of five got LST'd right. The other two, I guided the main stem to the end of the pot without curving it. Lesson learned, and I'll be implementing what I learned in Gorrila Glue Autos I am growing alongside. The other three are growing correctly. Should start flowering any day. A little late to the party, I think, because I was too aggressive with LST.

Referring to my post and picture today, any guesses to the wilting? I should add that the wilting isn't all the time, it comes and goes.

Ok...so it comes and goes... does it happen close to watering? Either wilted before watering or wilting right after being watered? If so try to find a good wet/dry balance. If it's after watering then we want to consider that the soil needs to dry faster(maybe more aeration like perlite or pumice), it may be having root struggles(rot/lack of oxygen) , otherwise sometimes a root bound plant can wilt when it needs transplanted. You might want to also bring your light hours down from the 24, i think all living things benefit sleep and i usually think 20/4 or 18/6 is the best way to keep the plant calm and happy.

8/4 All woke up. Looks like a good grow to me. 8/3 After much googling, including an article I found by a PhD in Botany, this is normal behavior. https://vanessa-nielsen.com/cannabis-plants-droop/ 8/2 OK, so the pattern is, every day my plants droop from about 10AM until about 7PM. Other times they look great. Now, I DO live in S. Alabama, where temps are in the 90s, but I live in a good house and the temp in my grow tent is 75. Humidity 51%. During lights out but they start before lights go out. Their pots are semi-light, they got some water yesterday. I know overwatered, this isn't it. I'm sure this isn't doing my plants any good. 7/31 I'm really in preflower. Not sure if that counts as veg or flower, I'm saying veg. My first attempt at LST seems to be fairly successful. I attempted a final LST with WW3 to see if I could encourage some growth in the middle. The rest will be left alone to flower. Sorry about the grow light pics. One of the plants has a little yellowing to the leaves, I suspect nit def, will check ph next time I water.

Your characterization of "daily wilting" leads me to believe that it's a natural circadian rhythm. I bet it happens between 1-2 hours before lights off? If so, there's nothing to worry about, my plants did it for about 3 weeks and grew put of it. Never caused any harm to them and it happens to a lot of plants. Dont go doing anything to intense to fix it, you probably dont have an issue at all. Hope this helps!

8/12 Last day week 7, everyone is healthy and happy. No they are not overwatered, or rootbound, they do that every day at lights out. See the 8/6 pic, that's how they normally look. 8/5 started flowering earlier this week, so I'm calling it week 7 flowering., 1/8 nutes yesterday. 1/4 next week, see if they can handle that.

I read about EC and PPM. I have a meter that reads both, and it says my PPM is too low, and the number it gives for EC is like 1200 and the charts all have numbers like 1.2-2. WTF. I ran out of pH strips but I know my pH is good, I used distilled water. What's everyone's thought?

EC and PPM while linked generally are two different measures. One is simply measuring the amount of particles in the water, and the other is measuring Electrical Conductivity. Do you have a Salinity measure on your meter? While EC runoff is generally a good way to measure the fertilizer salts / nutrient uptake, a salinity meter is the best way to see if you have excess salts. I'm currently working on a write up on the relation of PPM to EC to Salinity. Athos's answer is correct. I was just adding some color.

8/30 LOL my grow question says "overnutted". It ain't like that. Over nuted. sorry. Still laughing. I've been a slacker here, and now I have a problem. I'm growing White Widow Autos. Five. 3GAL containers in 3/4 BioBizz lightmix 1/4 perlite. 2 1500 W LED 1 150 HPS 5x5 tent. humidity 45-50% temp +- 76 We are in mid bloom. I switched to Maxibloom powder as an experiment I used 1 tsp/Gal as directed. I failed to mix the powder well enough and wound up over-nuting some of my White Widow Autos. No expert, but it doesn't look like a horrid case. The day after I saw the signs and did a 2-gal flush. That was yesterday. Today I felt underflushed and ran 4 gals each through them. I keep a handle on my pH, I used distilled mixed with tap gives me a perfect 6.3-4-5 range. My plan is to give plan distilled H20 the rest of the week and then try 1/2 MIXED REALLY WELL of the same mix. My question(s) are - I read about overnuting, and they talk transplant ewwwwww. I think I'm ok with my plan. Anyone? Should I try 1/4 first instead of 1/2? Should I stay away from the hi power ferts? Hep me.

You've overcomplicated everything.. Mixing in your powders and liquids and all sorts of stuff... It's hard to say where you are really sitting other then saturated.... Feeding Cannabis is not about 1500 ppm for 8 weeks during flower.. This is like baseline starter information. The 1500 ppm feeding is for healthy strong big plants.. If your plants not healthy maintaining high intake just continues to throw off the balance. Your better to go like 1/5 a regular feeding and waiting to see what she does with it.... A lot of guys are constantly fighting with their plants.. Constantly adding nutrients and ph buffers.. And all it does is add intake and make for poor Cannabis. There is a reason why experienced growers say less is more.. Because less is actually more.

I have one of those EC / PPM meters, they are fairly easy to use. Your reading of 1200 is in uS/cm, which is the same as 1.2 mS/cm or if you convert it into PPM 600. Hope that clarifies it for you. Most info around has the EC in mS/cm, just divide your reading by 1.000

Hey bro! Noticed you mentioned your plants get droopy before they go to sleep. Plants usually know when the lights go off so they will start to drop right before. One other reason could be that they aren’t getting enough light, for autoflowers 18hours of sunlight minimum is recommended. I don’t think 14 hours is enough to get a good yield out of this strain. I’m growing the same strain and I keep mine close to 20 on 4 off.

stumay111commented5 years ago
@FreshCoastOrganics check out my "rootbound" plants this morning. Thanks for your assurance. I found an article by a PhD in Botany no less that describes the night wilting of cannabis. It's good for it.
FreshCoastOrganics
FreshCoastOrganicscommented5 years ago
@stumay111, That’s definitely the case, mine do the same. They’re just preparing for sleep or waking up! That makes sense with the light schedule because of the fan issue. It will help once you get it! But definitely not root bound.. It is almost impossible for a plant to become root bound in a fabric pot/air pot lol.
stumay111
stumay111commented5 years ago
@FreshCoastOrganics, this seems to be the case, they are going to sleep. Last night just before lights on they perked up; this morning they drooped again just before lights out. I'm not crazy about the 14 hours, I am waiting for a stronger intake fan, hopefully I'll get it back up to 18. I just wanted someone to tell me not to worry about it. The other thoughts people had were rootbound. I don't think that's the case.

GMSgrows

A few pieces of wood some screws a roll of the black and white plastic and you can literally build a tent any size you want. For the floor, home depot sells cheap pond liners. The black and white plastic keeps all light inside the tent just as good. All will cost about 120 bucks. A couple more pieces of wood and you will have enough left on your plastic roll for another tent. One for veg and one for clone so you can always have a crop budding and one getting ready to. Cheers
