I warmed some root riot cubes (already wet from the bag) in a small tray with lid on for an hour. Temp in there was sitting at 26C so good to go. I placed the seeds in point down, after giving them a light squeeze to check they weren't cracked or anything. I pushed the seeds down 10mm and stuffed some small corners from the cubes down in contact with the top of the seeds so the seeds would have all round contact with moist medium. I gave them 2ml each of seaweed solution at 1ml/L to aid germination. The prop lid was put on and I taped over vents to help keep the cubes wet.
They'd all emerged from the root cubes after 71 hrs and the seedlings were potted into 1L pots of H&G bat special and watered in with 50mm of plain tap water on day 1. On day 6 they had 100ml with Plant Magic root stim at 2ml/L. All got off to a great start with no problems.
Day 9: 150ml each containing 2ml/L root stim.
Day 12: 200ml each of plain tap water.
I grow in an attic and use a heated prop base in the veg cab to keep the roots warm. It decided to die so I replaced with a new one. When I changed the prop base out the cab door had been open for ages and the root temps dropped to about 15C which caused a couple of yellow tips on the first leaves with a couple of brown spots on a couple of the plants, nothing too bad. Humidity was low so I added some capillary matting and water to the prop base and raised the plants on mesh. This kept the humidity between 27 and 41%. Apart from that they were growing nicely and looking healthy.
Feed.
Day 14: 250ml containing 1ml/L Foundation root stim. 150ml for Psicodelicia.
Day 16: 300ml each, containing 2ml/L root stim.
Day 17: The KKFV was already dry after a day so got another 300ml containing 2ml/L root stim and 0.5ml/L fish mix.
Day 18: All but the KKFV had 200ml containing 2ml/L rootstim and 0.5ml/L fish mix.
Day 19: 200ml for the KKFV containing 2ml/L root stim and 1ml/L fish mix.
I topped all the plants on day 17 at the 4th node. Included are photos pre and post topping, along with the topped bits to show how much was removed.
The topping never slowed them, as can be seen in the day 20 photos of the Psicodelicia and Red Mandarine.
The plants had started showing Mg deficiency because the LED in the veg cab was on full power to keep the temps up (I have high levels of Mg in my water EC 0.45). So I'd moved them into the main tent on day 20, after firing it up and dialling the temps in. One CMH 942 was hung 36" above the tops and set to 18/6.
They were looking a bit over watered and showing Mg deficiency so I potted them up on day 22, after a couple of days waiting for the recovery of IBK, DSD and SFLK. These three just happened to be the ones that were showing the most Mg problems brought on by too much light intensity in the veg cab so that must have stressed them and slowed their drinking. They would have benefitted from a couple more days recovery before the added stress of potting up but I thought they'd recover more quickly if I potted up carefully and never watered them in straight away (which I don't usually do anyway). I like to let them settle for a day, provided the rootballs are already wet enough to keep them going. If not I give a little bit of water just to the centre of the rootball to keep them going while the ends of the roots settle in to the fresh damp compost.
The original plan was to go straight from the 1L pots to 7L fabric finals but I decided to flower them in 11.4L round fabrics. So I dug out some 3.4L square plastic pots for intermediates and gave them a clean in a mild bleach solution, followed by a good rinse.
The KKFV and IBK roots were the most developed and the others were lagging behind a bit. The rootballs on those were still firm though because the pots had been raised on a rack in the prop base so the roots had been air pruning at the drain holes and branching out. You can see loads of root ends just emerging near the tops of the root balls.
Day 26 LST.
The girls had soon perked up after their re potting and on day 26 all except the Psicodelicia had some roots showing at the drainage holes. So I got rid of the scabby bottom leaves and 1st node branches, then started the LST. Prior to that I'd just been tucking the upper fans down under the lower branches to allow them more light.

Day 23: I gave them 300ml each, containing 2ml/L seaweed solution.
Day 26: 500ml each of plain water.
I added a DIY humidifier, capillary matting wrapped around empty Bio Bizz bottles. The bottles float and keep the wet matting up in the line of the intake ducting.
Day 30
My girls had come along nicely in the 4 days since I tied them down. Only problem was I lost one of the branches on the Do-Sweet-Dos and one was just about surviving on the San Fernando Lemon Kush. No big deal though. They were fine when I first tied them down. It was the next night when I pulled them down further, it was too much too soon and when I went back to check on them after an hour or two they had ruptured at the junction to the main stem. There was no saving the one on the DSD so I took it off completely. I fed them a bit of Bio silicon anyway to strengthen the stems a bit. They could all have done with the ties moving further out at that stage but I was hoping they'd have rooted the pots out enough to pot on after a further two days. So I left it it until they'd been potted on and settled in before I gave them any more stress.
Environment.
The lamp had been lowered by 3" per day to 26" above the canopy.

Feed.
They went 3 days without a drink, then I fed them 500ml each on day 29 containing 0.5ml/L Bio silicon.
Day 35 pot up to finals.
I pulled the the Red Mandarine from her pot on day 32 to check the roots and they weren't quite ready for a pot up so I left them for another three days. I checked the same plant again and she still didn't look ready but I had to get on with it due to the time limit for the grow.
Environment.
The RCD for my oil rad had tripped on day 33 and I never saw it until the lights came on at 6pm so the room temps had dropped to 17 and roots to 18. RH went up to 79%. Root temps of 18 is borderline but there was no ill effect on the plants apart from they took a bit of a stretch. Not sure why it tripped but it's been ok since. Maybe I knocked the test button on it while I was up there. There wasn't a power cut, I know that much.
Temps: 19-25C
Roots: 20-24C
RH: 42-62%
The lamp had been lowered further to 22" but the plants had started drooping a bit daily just before lights out so I raised the lamp from 22" to 25" to compensate in case of too much light intensity.
And to compensate this I turned my Inkbird thermostat up to 23C (controls my electric blanket under the pots) to keep those roots warm if the room temps dropped, as the weather had turned cooler outdoors too.
Feed.
Day 31: I gave the KKFV an in between feed of 250ml plain water to stop her drying out quicker than the others.
Day 32: They all had 500ml containing 1.5ml/L Foundation Root stim.
Day 34: 500ml for all, with 2ml/L Root stim.
Day 37 LST for Killer Kush and Psicodelicia.
When training low and wide to fill the tent I make frames at pot level to tie the plants down to. This is done with plant sticks, hobby glue and bulldog clips to hold the frame to the pot edges. Then more clips are added to the frame to tie the plants to and the clips can be moved along the frame to direct the branches to where I want them.
Environment.
Temps: 19-23C

Those are averages over two days and I think the RH spike was straight after watering, as I'd placed the hygrometer on the pot edges under the canopy.
Feed.
After leaving the plants unwatered when potting up I watered them in the next day with 1500ml containing 2ml/L Foundation root stim. With the KKFV being a heavier drinker than the others I should have given some water to the rootball after potting up cos she showed a bit of hunger in the oldest leaves by the next day. I think this was because the original root ball had dried out too much before the roots had moved into the fresh compost.
On day 38 I made the frames for the Indigo Berry Kush and the Do-Sweet-Dos.

During week 7 I did a bit of defoliation and super cropping of stretchy side shoots to try and keep the canopy good, but I fell ill so never managed to do all the plants. I had also intended to prune most of the lower branches before flipping to 12/12 but never managed that either. My other CMH was fired up with a 930 agro bulb in preperation for the bloom phase on day 49 which was the last day of veg. Both lamps were hung level and at a distance of 22" from the highest top on the Psicodelicia, which is front left in the canopy photos. The 942 bulb was at the back and the 930 at the front. The contacter timer and Circulation fan timer were set to 12/12.

Plant heights before stretch.
The highest tops of each plant from the floor at the onset of flower were:
Killer Kush Fast Version = 20"
Indigo berry kush = 16"
Do-Sweet-Dos = 19"
Psicodelicia = 21"
Red Mandarine Fast Version = 18"
San Fernando Lemon Kush = 19"
In week 1 of bloom I pruned the lowers of half the plants on day 3 and half on day 4. I took off most of the shorter shoots that weren't receiving much light but left a few on that were a bit short but still getting light. Removed a few more shading fan leaves from the canopy too, but not many. After pruning I adjusted some of the ties to level the canopy. Also I had to super crop a few leaders on the Psicodelicia.
Environment.
This was in February and still very cold in my attic but the environment was still nice and steady, no extremes. Average root temp lows were a bit lower at lights off due to the lights being off for longer in 12/12, but still fine at 19 so I never made any adjustments to my oil radiator or extraction fan.

Day 4: 2L each, containing 0.5ml/L IN grow and 0.5ml/L PM bio silicon.
Stretch measured on day 7.
KKFV: 25" from the floor -20" (measured at flip) = 5"
IBK: 19.5" -16" = 3.5"
DSD: 24" -19" = 5"
PSI: 25" -21" = 4" (not the original measured top after super cropping so there would have been slightly more stretch).
RMFV: 23.5" -18" = 5.5"
SFLK: 24.5" -19" = 5.5"
Pistils were appearing and crowns starting to form by day 9. The plants were stretching steadily due to the training method and close night/day temps. I moved my tent braces up the the sides of the tent to prevent the tent closing in on the tops from negative pressure. The super cropped branches on the Psicodelicia soon stood back up so I fitted some plastic plant bends to keep them down, which worked a treat. I never gave them anymore Bio silicon because it burnt the leaf tips a bit and I wanted to introduce some bloom feed soon.

Day 6: 2L each, containing 2ml/L IN Foundation root stim.

I'd given them a couple of reduced volume feeds of 2L every 48 hours to compensate for the pruning and this served them well, so it was raised back to 2.5L. Run off was sucked up almost instantly so they could have taken more but I want to keep them fed at 2 day intervals to get fresh oxygen to the roots as often as possible without the pots remaining too heavy come feed time.
The buds were forming nicely by day 14 and stretch was still steady. I had unintentionally allowed the lamp distance to get as close as 15" while they were stretching and noticed the tops getting a bit pale so I corrected that to 18". I started removing large shading fan leaves from the plants, 2 leaves from 2 plants each day so it worked out that each plant had a couple removed every third day.

Week 3 bloom was quite a busy week keeping the canopy in order, squashing stems to slow them and removing large fan leaves a couple at a time. I knew I'd have to add some more support higher up as the plants stretched. They would have been ok if I left them in the tent permanently but I like to take them out to check them over and photograph them. I was in two minds whether to add some netting or another frame higher up. I decided to add another frame, tied to the colas first to keep the shape and then remove the lower one to make watering easier. This worked fine for them all apart from the Red mandarine. When I removed the lower frame on this plant the tops twisted and the colas were leaning at an angle so I had to make further adjustments to the upper frame. Lesson learnt for next time, add more support higher up but leave the bottom frame on to keep the shape better and make the structure more sound. Especially as they pile the weight on and the colas are swaying all over when I lift them out. I think next time though I'll use 50mm plastic trellis. I just thought this way would allow more light down through the plants.
On day 17 I tackled the Killer Kush and Indigo Berry Kush first. Basically just a length of cane along the 4 outer edges. These were fixed to the 6 main outer colas with soft ties and joined at the corners, high enough up to prevent the more flimsy branches in the middle from leaning outwards. Ideally I could have placed them a bit higher but i wanted them below the lowest buds so the buds wouldn't grow over them and make it more awkward to make adjustments without damaging the buds.

I swapped the 942 bulb at the back for another 930 agro in preparation for the flower building when the stretch was over. The plants were all starting to smell sweet and fruity by this stage.
Just a reminder, the highest top on the Psico wasn't the original top measured at the onset of bloom. I super cropped the highest so the stretch figures would have been higher and more in line with the SFLK.
I was still removing 2 leaves from 2 plants each day in rotation for better light penetration. The Do-Sweet-Dos started showing a Ca deficiency and I'm pretty sure it was caused when I allowed the plants to get within 15" of the lamps because the problem was only on the upper leaves on the side of the plant closest to the lamps. When I raised the lamps back to maintain an 18" distance the problem halted and never got any worse. The plants were getting quite frosty now and smelling sweeter by the day. I was getting a sweaty sock cheesy aroma earlier on along with the fruity sweetness but the sweetness was taking over now. I shuffled the plants around to keep the taller colas on the outside of the tent away from the lamps and also raised the IBK up on a plastic tub as she stretched less than the others.

Day 34: 2.5L each, containing 1ml/L Runzyme and 2.5ml/L Bloom.
I'd noticed a few more rust spots on the Do-Sweet-Dos and wasn't sure if it was because I moved her into the middle directly under a lamp when I re-shuffled the plants, or if she was actually getting hungry for Ca so I gave two feeds of Plant Aid in place of the Runzyme. The Plant Aid says Ca in the ingredients so I thought I'd give it a try. I also raised the bloom feed for the DSD to 2.5ml/L before the others to see if that would help.
The girls were getting heavier on the colas and a bit more difficult to get out of the tent for photos, but the frames were still doing the job ok if I was careful ;) Aromas getting stronger and sweeter, and the frost piling on. The environment was still nice and steady as the weather warmed up (April 4th day 39) so no adjustments were made.

Root temps were quite stable, if not a little higher than usual, and the humidity was acceptable. I checked the plant tops with an infra red thermometer and they were hitting 28-29C but all was well and only the Indigo Berry Kush was showing a little bit of upturned edges on her upper leaves. I could have taken her down off her tub and lowered the tops 3" but she was ok. The circulation fan was turned up to no 2 of 3 and I notched the extraction up to 90% on the DIY Variac controller.

I don't normally follow nutrient schedules but I did check Intense Nutrients schedule before the grow to give me an idea as it was the first time I've used this nutrient line. I decided to check again on day 44 and glad I did because it says stop Runzyme after week 6 for an 8 week grow and I was planning on feeding it for longer. If using Bio Bizz I try and follow OT1's advice and change to 2ml grow and 1ml bloom (or thereabouts), after about week 5 when the pistils start dying back. I normally change it after week 6 just for peace of mind that they have enough bloom feed to see them out. With these Intense Nutrients they say change straight over to 2ml grow after week 6. I decided to try this at a lower dose. The grow feed is 5-3-3, so still plenty of both P and K for the rest of the bloom phase as I see it. I presumed this would hopefully work well for my quick finishers for a week and then I'd starve them until chop time, but then thought I maybe should have dialled them back a bit sooner. As it happened none of my fast versions actually finished fast, but maybe this was because I'd changed over to grow feed and they had too much N stored already. Also I take my plants past breeder's recommended finishing times to get a good percentage of amber trichomes, I might just try lowering the bloom feed to 1ml/L on my next grow, instead of replacing with grow, and maybe get fatter buds finishing up earlier. :) But then again, I don't want fat, shit tasting buds either lol. I'll think about it more when the time comes and read the plants :)
Around day 49 I started noticing spices adding to the sweet aromas when I opened the tent.

Week 8 was mostly spent just watching the flowers grow but I did have a bit of work to do. On day 52 I had to make some more adjustments and cola tying on the Do-Sweet-Dos and San Fernando Lemon Kush. On day 54 I had to do the same with the Killer Kush, her colas were leaning all over the place, especially when I took her out for photo's. Trichs were ripening across all the plants but they were still pushing out clear trichs., especially the Psicodelicia.

The above were averages over 5 days since day 49 and I was quite pleased with the environment considering the warm weather we were having. The ambient temps in my attic room go well into the 30's when the sun is shining on the roof. The room temps had not been above 29C, roots 25C and RH above 46%. The extractor fan was still set to 90% (IIRC) on the variac.

Day 50: 2.5L each, containing 1.5ml/L IN Organix Grow. 1ml/L for the IBK and SFLK. The upper fan leaves were a little bit too dark and shiny for my liking.
Day 52: Same volume and I lowered the feed to 1ml/L for them all.
Day 54: Same again and I lowered to 0.5ml/L.
Week 9 just saw the flowers getting fatter and more ripe. The smell was just amazing each time I opened the tent, lot's of sweet fruitiness and earthiness :D
There was a power cut during lights off on day 55. Room temps went down to 20C and the RH went up to 78%. As usual the following statistics are an average taken over the days since the last update and as you can see, the power cut never made much difference to the average over 7 days from day 54 to 61. On day 56 I turned the oil rad thermostat down to 3/4 and then again to 2/3 on day 60. On day 57 the Red Mandarine told me she'd had enough and wanted to reproduce lol I found 2 separate nanas on one main cola so I plucked them out. No big deal at this stage as the rest of the plants weren't too far behind her in being ready, so no chance of seeds developing. Also she was past her expected finishing time and the power cut may have thrown her by disturbing the nice steady environment she was used to.

Days 56, 58 and 60: 2.5L each of plain water.
I stopped feeding after day 54 and the plants were using up their resources steadily with old leaves fading and a few dropping. I ordered a fresh jar of Blackstrap molasses just in case any later finishers needed a boost while on plain water but all were looking ok, just a steady fade of the older leaves.
I had to make even more adjustments to the Killer Kush before I could take her out for pics, colas leaning everywhere lol. I had to tie the whole frame to the sides of the pot as the whole plant was leaning over.
Aroma.
In the jar it smells smooth and fruity, definitely a mandarine aroma.
Grind it up and it smells of mandarine with a sour citrus punch to it.
Taste.
Sweet and orangey, quite pronounced for only 5 days in the jars when I first tested it. Drenched in terps, really sweet in the mouth and throat and lingers for ages, very tasty and preffered to the fresh scissor hash which was more sour tasting but still left a nice sweet taste on the lips. After curing the buds for a few weeks the aromas and sweetness really came out well. She's a very tasty smoke.
Effect.
The effect of the scissor hash was a relaxed high, energetic but nice and smooth on the head. Body relaxation set in after about 20 minutes.
The cured buds have a similar effect. Clear headed and a nice balance between head and body. Nothing too heavy on either so functional and good for a daytime smoke . The head buzz is followed by the body relaxation after 20 minutes. The body buzz is good, not too heavy to become unmotivational, just nice and relaxing to get rid of the aches and pains.
