Hi all me again with another diary ๐
I will be Growing one Plant in a 15L Fabric Pot with My Own Soil Mix
and added Greenhouse Feeding Bio Range
Plus Bi/weekly supplements of Organics
and Mycorrhizae for Perfect soil and root Health.
I will be using the 12/12 from seed method in a small grow tent (1mx70x1m)
under two Mars Hydro TS1000 Lights.
Sometimes I get asked about germination so this is how I begin a grow.................
First thing I do is to mix up a tiny amount of Warm water and humic acid.
This I used to soak the seed in overnight. Something I like to do about an hour or so (doesn't matter how long) after placing the seed/s into the solution is to try to push them down from the the surface. Most of the time they will sink to bottom.
Don't panic if they don't sink the first time you try as they may take a little while . However I have found that seeds that still won't sink after about 24hrs are not likely to be viable.
Now after my seed/s have been in the solution overnight I then like to use a Round makeup removing pad that has been premoistened in warm water to use as the germination "cocoon".
I first came up with the idea of using these when I was searching thru the bathroom cabinet of our Family home for something to use because I had no Paper towel (which is also great to use) I saw the pads and thought these might work and have been using them since. Incidentally a pack of these things contain about 100 pads and cost a couple of dollars so even the bigger growers would get lots of use from a pack.
Anyway, when I use them I gently open the pad from one side so it's like a "pouch" before moistening it with warm water. The seed/s go inside the pad with a tiny amount of Mycorrhizae powder. Then the pad itself goes inside a ziplock type sandwich bag
with a breath of air from me and then it gets sealed up, Labelled which is Important if you are running multiple strains. And then I put the ziplock baggie into a small carton that then sits on top of my PS4. Ive found that this provides just enough warmth for the seeds to usually germinate within
24-72 hours.
Meanwhile whilst the seed/s are germinating I then take the time to prepare for the next step in the plants early stages of life.
This involves presoaking a growplug,
jiffy or rockwool cube whichever I'm using at the time with a weak mixture containing
Humic, Fulvic and Amino acids plus
some seaweed solution.
I also fill a small pot 2/3rds of the way with the same soil that the plant will be grown out in for the seedling to spend it's first week or so in.
Once the seed inside the ziplock bag
has cracked and the tiny white tap root is exposed , it is then time for me to gently plant it into the premoistened plug as mentioned above and then that goes into the centre of the little pot and I carefull fill up the rest with some more soil being careful not to cover the plug or jiffy etc.
I then put the little pot inside my propagating capsule which has a heat mat inside and a clear plastic Lid to keep in the warmth but Let light in.
Young seedlings and cuttings do night require very powerful lights so a fluro tube style one in Blue colour does the job for me.
And that's about all that I do.
From there you just need to keep the little plant Warm & Moist but not too wet so the roots can breathe and once it's up and has atleast one true set of leaves you can move it under the brighter lights .
Well as you can see it only took three days to germinate the seed and to get to where I'm at now , which is fairly good in my opinion anyway time will tell
see you next week & Thanks For Stopping By ๐
I have a narco purps on the go from Cream of the crop.. I can not wait to see what she bears.. Again, that looks tasty and your description is brilliant "Totally not the sort of weed you wanna smoke if you have anything that involves maximum concentration as this one"๐ ๐
