Primera experiencia de Scrog

Zoe_Spacecake It's the second week of growth. These are cuttings of Gorilla OG Kush that I've made with a GHE Rainforest system. The intention is to do a grow with the Scrog technique for the first time. It's a 2 square meter grow with 8 plants. The space between the plants is 60 cm. There are two 450 W LED lamps. The hydroponic system is from GHE (now Terra Aquatica). It's an Aeroflo40, allowing for the cultivation of 40 plants to create a "Sea of Green." The oxygenation of the water is perfect, and I achieve maximum yields with this system.

Zoe_Spacecake I've done several prunings to control the growth of the plants. It also helps to make the branches a bit stronger, because it's a variety that tends to grow tall, thin, with weak branches.

Zoe_Spacecake I chose a metal net. It's very easy to install and allows for effective control of the plants. The rest is the same as any hydroponic grow. I raise the nutrient level every day.

Zoe_Spacecake The prunings have delayed the growth quite a bit. I think the plants will eventually fill the whole space, but I'm not sure. The white hairs look good now.

Zoe_Spacecake This week, I'm trying something new, defoliation. I'm cutting the large leaves from 4 plants. I'm not touching the other 4 plants. All the plants look good, I see almost no insects. Now the plants are on the maximum dose of nutrients.

Zoe_Spacecake The plants are growing well. There are a few thrips and spiders. I will add insecticide before the buds fatten up. Day 35: nutrient solution change

Zoe_Spacecake Day 35 of flowering, the buds are starting to fatten up a bit, 4 weeks to go.

Zoe_Spacecake Less than 3 weeks to harvest. The buds are fattening up less than I expected. I see few bugs, spiders, and thrips.

Zoe_Spacecake I don't know why the plants have matured faster than normal. But they are healthy and keep fattening up. The various insecticides have done a bit of damage to the leaves, nothing serious. I have a bit of thrips and spider mites under control.

Zoe_Spacecake First scrog experience and I'm not very satisfied. The plants have been stressed and have matured faster than normal. The result is small buds. The quality seems the same. I guess touching the branches too much to control it with the net is the source of the stress. It was a defoliation experiment. I've done it on several plants to compare. It's a disaster; it's better not to touch the leaves except in certain cases.
