Week 1.
Welcome all to a new run.
Ok what’s new? I’ll be growing 4 plants again. This time I’ll either top much later than last time or not at all, have not decided yet.
I read somewhere about SIP (Sub Irrigated Planter) and since I have recently got my hands on some perlite I decided to give it a try. For those of you that don’t know it’s like a mix of soil growing with hempy buckets.
The setup is mostly the same I’ve been using all along. For veg I have 6 Phillips 6500K screw in led bulbs for a total of 63 watts; 4 smart pots of 1 liter each; the media used is a mix of equal parts coco coir, my own home made worm castings and some leftover canna soil.
Week 2.
For some reason both Blue Mammoth are lagging a bit behind. Anyway, it is of no consequence.
In a few days plants should be ready for topping.
Also, roots are starting to poke out of the smartpots and into the perlite bed, I wonder if they will grow into the perlite and if they do what will that do to their growth rate.
It has been so cold that I decided to go to full light power early, at the very least it will keep the grow box warmer, perhaps it will help develop the plants faster?
Week 3
I decided to do without the perlite bed; the wiking worked well, too well in fact and the 1 liter pots were soaked all the time; which gave some plants a bit of overwatering this week.
I had some deficiencies this week, potassium I believe, anyway it has been taken care of now.
Week 4.
I made a mistake and did not water the 2nd blue cheese and it died, one of the down sides of real small pots. So I transplanted the other blue cheese to a 4 liter fabric pot and contrary to what I expected there was no transplant shock.
Since I did not TOP the plants, they already showed pre flowers and are about to stretch.
5 weeks have gone and the plants have done some major stretching.
It's been a busy week, doing lots of LST, to keep the main colas at canopy level. I've removed a few side shots here and there.
Week 7 is bye bye and we are at mid flowering.
Lots of tying this week, LST is the name of the game. I also removed all minor colas below canopy level.
Both Blue mammoth leaves are showing a reddish tint.
From what others have experienced this autos seem take 12 weeks, so that's another 5 weeks.
Week 8.
Some more LST to keep the top most colas from the lights.
This strains are very smelly, probably the cheese one, I'll have to wait until they have cured a little.
There is some fade present, which makes me think the end is near, 2 weeks me thinks.
PS: Usually by this point the calyxes have just swelled, indicating that there's 1 week left, but not this time
Week 9
We are almost there, calyxes are swelling nicely and I did some minor defoliating and more LST.
The buds are really smelly, both strains.
Today was the last feed. I'll give it water for a week and then harvest
The run took a total of 9 and a half weeks (67 days) and 5 days to dry.
As you know 1 plant (the best one) died due a mistake and I had to quickly transplant the other blue cheese to a 1 gallon pot to compensate.
Here are some statistics.
Light used: 174 watts
Space: 2,27 sq ft
Watts per sq ft: 76,6
Blue Mammoth yield: 77,6 gr.
Blue Cheese yield: 138,4 gr.
Total yield: 216 gr (7,6 oz)
Yield statistics:
GPW: 1,24
Gr per liter of media used: 36
Oz per sq ft: 3,4

Hello Athos,
i have watched a few runs and love it. I have a few questions please.
how much difference in temperature do you have between inside and outside of the box?
and for odors, do you have a smell outside when the flowering box?
you still have the CAN 705?
big thanks
Christo
@ChristoHD, i'm using the CAN 1500 plastic filter, it's rated for more CFM. As for odors, there can be some the last week before harvest, I use ONA GEL for it and it works fine. Temp difference is around 10°C I think
