i hooked up one blumat per 2x4 trays with drippers spread around for more even water distribution, at the bottom of the tray there is a layer of capillary mat, the blumat sensor/water gauge (green and clay part) is directly on the capillary mat, the black plastic on top is perforated to let water thru, and it's there to stop light from reaching the mat to prevent algae from growing what is really cool is that the water is coming from the bottom of the pot, the roots supposedly suck as much moisture as they need, never too much, never not enough, and thats when the blumat scensor is dialed in propelly, it's suposed to take a couple days also no pump, no electric electronic nothing, it's all gravity and magic i guess it's freshly installed and everything is working as it should so far

I have bugs! i don't know what they are, but they are quick and jumpy. Neem oil did not slow 'em down at all. I'm in organic living soil so i'm not sure if bleach or peroxide treatment is an option. This is a video of the bottom of the saucer

Jumping bugs, they are called springtails. They thrive in moist soil, meaning you are over watering. Fortunately they are harmless for your plant. If you want to get rid of them, keep the soil on the dry side. Anyway, I've had them a couple of time with no harmful effect to the plants.

Thanks to those who invented the blumat 🙏🙏 I also left the plants alone for two weeks last year when I was traveling across the world When I came back they were better than before 🌱🌳😉 Happy growing ✌️

I love seem new techniques, could you please explain this one to me? 🙏

@Psilocubensis, Humidity is at about 75% and temperature 85f, perfectly in the VPD range for fast growing, might sound crazy but this is my first grow with no bugs or mold

@@Dodgers, Great!!! Thanks for the complete answer ! I downloaded the site you sent me, and i'll sure save it in mind. I've searched for many ways to make auto wicking, auto watering, etc. This one is simple and great. How about pests or humidity inside the grow room?
Dodgers
Dodgers
@Psilocubensis, Yes, i'm going to try to make it short and simple, i never water de pots myself, the fabric pots are on a wet fabric mat. The whole watering of the plant happens here, the roots suck the water up to the plant, through the fabric pot, from the wet mat. The mat is kept wet by tubes dripping water onto the mat and the water disperses across the whole mat evenly, from a reservoir. The amount of "wetness" of the mat is controlled by a censor that shuts off the water when the mat is very wet, and turn the water flow back on once the mat is dry, and that is easily adjustable And remember one thing, setting this up is easy and CHEAP. The ultimate lazy grower shortcut for absolutely explosive growth with no work more detailed info here : autoflower.net/forums/threads/tommys-wet-microbes-grow-stinky-stanky-weed.61074/

Do you not see any issue with watering from below? i could see if your are just using plain water, but once you introduce food to them you are going to have issues. Would you eat your dinner through your asshole?😬 your plant is just going to sit in its own waste than drink all the discarded shit right back up. Salts and such.

@jmo33, i am using plain water, my soil ph is still at 6.3, so far so good! when i was watering normally to run off, the water would sucks back in, no issues there, if the plants get hungry i will feed with a fertilizer tea, from the top not the bottom, hopefully thats also going to work thanks for your input!

your soil ph will always be off and swing if your plants sit in a puddle of their own waste all day .
Dodgers
Dodgers
@jmo33, the blumat system allows for a pretty good wet/dry cycle, its not sitting in water, the mats has to dry out for the scensor to start dripping water again
