Topped Vs LST Autos | Amnesia Auto

Hello whomever comes across this. I will update this diary to document my first ever grow. Really excited to see where this goes and what I'll learn from my first run. Growing in Royal Gold Tupur amended with FoxFarms Happy Frog Cavern Culture (mixed per the ratio on the fertilizer's instructions). My local hydroponics store didn't have any FoxFarms Coco Loco in stock when I went so they recommended these other products. I didn't show the germination process, but basically put the seeds in a cup of water for 24 hours (they did end up sinking after a few hours) and then placed them in a wet towel for about 48 hours (tap roots were around an inch in length). The seedlings broke soil on June 12, 2020.

I noticed that one was growing much larger leaves here, but both look good.

Some leaves are starting to taco a bit, so they aren't liking the heat too much. Will address soon.

Starting to have continuous 90F plus days here so I've changed my light schedule to have the dark time set to the hottest period of the day (12pm - 6pm). Day 24 - Accidentally topped my stemmier lady while rearranging LST. Guess I will see if topping an auto is something to avoid or not. Interested in seeing how she responds. Day 25 - The bushier lady started showing her white hairs at the nodes.

Day 29 - The lady that I accidentally topped seems to be responding well, her top two nodes are really stretching out and looking good. Still only have one lady clearly showing white hairs at the nodes, but the other lady looks like shes about to pop. I also defoliated them a bit to allow for better light penetration. Day 30 - Did another round of light defoliation and rearranged the LST on both ladies. Still haven't noticed any white hairs on one lady. Day 31 - Rearranged my equipment setup inside the grow tent. Still no white hairs on one lady. Day 33 - More light defoliation and LST on both ladies. Starting to notice some white hairs on the lady yet to begin showing hairs. Both ladies are now in flower.

Day 37 - Lady 1 is in about day 6 of flower and Lady 2 is in day 12 of flower. I have been defoliating both ladies lightly. Lady 1 is definitely starting to drink much more than Lady 2. Not sure why Lady 1 really stretched out when compared to Lady 2, might be phenotype related as I have been taking care of both the same. Overall both look happy, as am I about their progress. Day 40 - Defoliated both ladies the most I ever have. Lady 2's colas are really starting to fill out with white hairs. Lady 1 has to catch up to but I'm happy with the stretch she had. Decided to place Lady 2 on a box to match the height of Lady 1 and so they're both about 12 inches away from my light.

Day 44 - Ladies are doing well. Lady 1 (F13) is just starting to fill up with white hairs. Lady 2 (F19) is filling up amazingly. I'm kind of worried about the 50% - 70% relative humidity in my tent now that they're a couple weeks into flower so I just ordered a dehumidifier to try and keep below 50%. Day 45 - I have been leaving some of the leaves I cut off of the ladies on top of the medium, but today I noticed some mold growing on the leaves and decided to throw them all away. I also noticed Lady 2 is much heavier when I lift her up versus Lady 1 so I poked holes in the medium with a pencil and aimed the fan directly at the top of the medium. Still not sure why Lady 2 is so much shorter than the other lady... Day 46 - Fed Lady 1 after feeling the medium was pretty dry and she was on the lighter side when lifted (5 ml CalMag, 10 ml Micro, 5 ml Gro, and 15 ml Bloom per 1 gallon). Fed her 1 gallon of water mixed with nutrients and about 0.5 gallon of just ph balanced water. I haven't been noticing nutrient burn or anything obviously wrong, but I'm going to be reducing nutrients to something way less aggressive (updated the "nutrients" section in my diary). Looks like I have been reading the general feeding schedule on the back of the Flora nutrient bottles completely wrong. I thought the values were per gallon but it turns out they're per 10 liters. Will be watering with only ph balanced water and looking for the PPM in my run off to read that of just the water. Lady 2 will probably be ready for watering tomorrow as she didn't feel as dry or as light when lifted. Day 47 - Fed Lady 2 with nutrients mixed per my diary entry for this week. Will feed only ph balanced water to the ladies until the runoff PPM comes down.

Day 49 - Added a 1500 mL dehumidifier to the tent setup in an attempt to keep the relative humidity below or around 50%. Day 50 - Lady 2 is starting to smell really fruity when I put my nose right up to the colas. I can't wait to see how she'll smoke. Day 51 - The dehumidifier is collecting water from the air, but the tent is reading above 60%RH right now. It did just rain in my area so that definitely isn't helping my humidity control. I think it would be higher without the dehumidifier. I'll be checking periodically to see if it was worth buying that small dehumidifier. Day 53 - Right now my tent is at around 52%RH and the dehumidifier has collected around 800-900 mL of water, so averaging about 200-225 mL of water a day. I think that's not to bad and will help me keep the humidity lower than outside humidity.

Day 56 - Fed both ladies with only Cal-Mag amended water (around 350 PPM). The runoff measured at a pH of about 6.3 and a TDS of around 1500 PPM. Planning on doing one more only Cal-Mag feeding to bring the runoff TDS below 1000 PPM. I also lollipopped Lady 1 since the lower bud sites are very far away from the tent light. Day 58 - Fed lady 1 with only Cal-Mag amended water. Runoff measured a TDS of above 3000 PPM, very high in my opinion, but the lady isn't showing any signs of nutrient burn or deficiencies. I will feed with all nutrients next time. Lady 2 was still wet and didn't need to be watered. Day 59 - Fed lady 2 with the nutrients mixed per this week's diary entry. Day 61 - Fed lady 1 with the nutrient mixed per this week's diary entry. Day 62 - Defoliated some of the fan leaves around the colas of lady 2. Hands and trimmers started getting sticky and are smelling great. Definitely noticing a smell now as soon as I open the tent.

Day 63 - Fed both ladies with only Cal-Mag amended water. Lady 1 is measuring in at 43 inches tall and lady 1 is measuring in at 14 inches tall. Was not expecting something like this to happen for my first grow. Day 65 - Fed lady 1 water amended with all the nutrients mixed per this week's diary entry. Day 66 - Fed lady 2 water amended with all the nutrients mixed per this week's diary entry. Day 68 - Fed lady 1 water amended with only Cal-Mag.

Day 70 - The ladies are looking good. Not much of a smell from lady 1, but lady 2's smell is getting stronger. Buds are getting fat on lady 2 and still haven't seen any cloudy trichomes on her. Lady 1 is looking like she'll be a big yielder as she's filling up with bud sites. I am more than likely going to have to harvest them around 2 weeks apart. I wanted to put them both in complete darkness for a few days and dry everything in the grow tent, but seems like I'll have to dry the first lady outside the tent and she won't experience a dark period. Excited to try my first ever crop. Day 71 - Fed lady 1 3 mL of Cal-Mag, 4 mL of Micro, 1 mL of Gro, and 6 mL of Bloom. Fed lady 2 3 mL of Cal-Mag, 4 mL of Micro, and 8 mL of Bloom. Day 74 - Fed both ladies with water amended with only Cal-Mag. Still not seeing the cloudy trichomes I'm looking for in lady 2. I'm thinking she's still about 2 weeks away from harvest, but it will depend on how her trichomes are looking. Day 76 - Fed lady 1 water amended per this week's diary entry.

Day 77 - Defoliated both ladies. Fed lady 2 with water amended per this week's diary. It's been really hot and humid these last few days, but the weather should be cooling down in the next few days. I haven't been able to keep the humidity where I would prefer, but I think the ladies will be fine. I just don't want to see 70% RH, I saw it briefly and opened the tent up for a while to bring it down. The ladies seem happy and are filling up their cola's. Lady 1 still does not have a strong smell, whereas lady 2 is smelling better and better everyday. Haven't noticed many cloudy trichomes yet or any amber ones on lady 2. I'm thinking I'll stop giving her nutrients once she's showing more than half of the trichomes being cloudy or signs of amber trichomes. Day 78 - Fed lady 1 with water amended with only Cal-Mag. Day 80 - Fed lady 2 with water amended with only Cal-Mag. The trichomes on her sugar leaves are amber and much cloudier than the ones on the caylxes and buds. I'll wait to begin a flush on her until the trichomes on the buds get cloudier and are starting to amber. Day 81 - Fed lady 1 with water amended per this week's diary entry. Day 82 - Lady 2's trichomes are appearing more cloudy now on the calyxes. A lot of her white hairs have turned amber and are curled up now. Will start feeding with only water from now on, for maybe 2 weeks before chopping her. Day 83 - Fed lady 2 with water amended with only Cal-Mag.

Day 84 - The last time I measured both of the lady's heights was on day 63. They haven't grown in height really at all since then, all their energy is going towards the flowers :) Day 85 - Fed lady 1 with water amended with only Cal-Mag. Day 88 - Fed lady 2 with water amended with only Cal-Mag. Fed lady 1 with water amended per this week's diary entry. Lady 2's colas are starting to fade from dark green to a yellow green color, about 8 days away from chopping her down depending on how the trichomes look that day. Lady 1's lower colas are dying off due to not getting enough light.

Day 91 - Fed lady 1 with water amended with only Cal-Mag. I ended up cutting off her lower colas that were dying due to not getting any light. Lady 2 is fading more and more everyday. Her trichomes look cloudy with the occasional glassy and amber trichome. Still thinking she's about 5 days away, waiting for her to fade more as her trichomes look good now. She's starting to show purple colors, which is awesome. I moved lady 1 directly under the light now to take full advantage of the mighty 100W (/s) light. Lady 2 will finish in the tent with indirect light. Day 92 - Lady 2 is getting closer and closer to harvest day. I'm thinking less than 4 days away now. Five of her 8 big colas have now either faded or started to fade, so once all 8 are in some phase of faded I will chop her down and begin drying. I'm expecting her to dry in about 7 days. Hopefully I can keep the planned drying closet between 50% and 70% humidity... Day 94 - Decided to chop down lady 2 today. She was on day 70 of flower. Fed lady 1 with water amended per this week's diary. Day 96 - Took some leaves off of lady 1. Day 97 - Fed lady 1 with water amended with only Cal-Mag.

Day 98 - Lady 1 is finishing out in tent while her sister is drying and eager to get into jars to begin curing. She has really started to show her purple colors. Considering she is much larger than her sister, I think she will yield much more. Lady 1 smells much less fruitier than lady 2, touching her sugar leaves does not produce the the same smell. I just germinated and planted 3 more seeds (Seedsman's Amnesia Auto x1 and Northern Lights Auto x2) into solo cups filled with Tupur Royal Gold coco mix. I plan on making a new diary for the northern lights, might make one for the amnesia. Day 100 - Fed lady 1 with water amended per this week's diary. Day 102 - Fed lady 1 with water amended with only Cal-Mag. Day 104 - Fed lady 1 with water amended per this week's diary.

Day 105 - She's starting to make her buds really fat, so the weight is getting to be too much for the stems as they are starting to wobble very easily. Thinking I might have to tie some string around the branches and hold them up until she's done. Oh well, good problem to have I'd think. Day 107 - Fed the lady with water amended with only Cal-Mag. Finally got around to tie and support her cola's that are getting too heavy for her. Day 110 - Fed the lady with water amended per this week's diary.

Day 113 - Lady is looking good as she's finishing. Excited to try this phenotype of amnesia. Will end up harvesting her once she shows hints of amber trichomes and after most pistils have turned amber. Still thinking she's about 2-3 weeks away. I plan on giving her plain water feedings for a week or so prior to harvest. Day 116 - Fed the lady with water amended with only Cal-Mag. Her bigger main colas are starting to show amber trichomes with about 50/50 clear/cloudy. The lower colas are closer to 70/30 clear/cloudy with almost no amber trichomes. Still looks like shes popping new pistils on her main colas, so will wait those out until I begin plain water feedings.

Day 120 - Getting closer to harvest day for this lady. She's huge and full of buds towards the top, smaller somewhat fat buds in the middle, and larfy buds at the bottom. I should have lollipopped her 1 or 2 more nodes up, especially for the colas that did not end up stretching as far as the others. Fed the lady water amended per this week's diary. Still seeing white pistils on her main colas so still 2 weeks away or so from harvest. I think this will be her last full nutrient feeding and for her next watering she'll get her last Cal-Mag feeding. I'll probably do 2 more plain water feedings from there and harvest once the soil is dried out after her last plain water feeding. I'm seeing a few of the lower buds of the lowest colas show some spots on the leaves so I just cut those parts off and hung to begin drying. It doesn't appear to be spreading but I'll keep an eye out these next few days. Day 123 - Fed the lady her last Cal-Mag amended feeding. Trichomes are looking more cloudy now on the middle buds. Will give 1 more plain water feeding instead of 2, I want to see how this bud will smoke with minimal flush versus the first lady harvested that was flushed more. Day 127 - Decided to skip completely flushing her to compare versus an over flushed plant. Harvested her today with the soil nice and dry.

Amensia Haze Auto by Seedsman Seedlings broke soil on June 12, 2020 2 plants 100W LED light 168.3 grams (5.9 oz) dry total Lady 2 "LST Lady" [49.7 grams dry] Day 94, Flower 70 (Harvested on September 14, 2020): - initially let the buds dry with not wet trimming at all, but after 3 or so days I did some wet trimming - dried the buds over seven days and once the smaller stems started to snap instead of bend, I did a final trimming on all buds and stored in jars to continue curing - with a wet weight of 306.3 grams, the return for one plant was 16.2% after drying - buds smoke well after a week of drying, still hoping the flavors comes out stronger after a longer cure - noticed a few seeds in the buds, not exactly sure how or why this plant started to form seeds. My guess is she hermied towards the end of the grow as I've been finding some younger seed shells that didn't get time to mature into viable seeds - friends so far state a good smoke and smell, I notice the ash is white and burns nicely Lady 1 "Topped Lady" [118.6 grams dry] Day 127, Flower 95 (Harvested on October 16, 2020): - did a wet trim before hanging the buds to dry - bud wet weight is as follows: 428.8 grams (all the main colas, large buds) + 258.2 grams (middle growth, some larfy buds, some thicker buds) + 238.7 grams (middle growth, some larfy buds, some thicker buds) = 925.7 grams total - pretty much tripled what the first lady yielded which seems about right considering the huge size difference - allowed 8 days to hang dry - dried bud piles are as follows: 62.8 grams + 55.8 grams = 118.6 grams ( 64.1 grams of larfy buds and shake, but won't count towards total) - top buds are much denser on this lady, still haven't ran into any seeds which is indicating to me the first lady was starting to hermie and could have benefited from a bit earlier of harvest (but 1 or 2 seeds isn't a big deal to me) Had a lot of fun growing and it's really rewarding to finally harvest and smoke your own homegrown. Learned these plants are sturdy and can take some abuse from a newbie and still produce well. Can't see why not to grow your own weed if it seems like something you really want to do and you have some money to invest in a decent starter setup. It's way cheaper to grow your own right now in Michigan instead of purchasing from the dispensaries. Thanks for checking my dairy and happy growing!
