Started these seeds using the paper towel method on a heat mat and the seeds all popped within a day. After 2 days I transplanted the seeds into small growcubes and into the clay filled hydro pots in nutrient free water in my bucker DWC system. After a week the seeds sprouted and look to be growing nicely albeit a but slowly as it is middle of winter here,
Wow winter sucks, the cold weather means there's not much growth happening. One plant is starting to show a tap root which is promising. Another week of limited nutes at a low strength, next week I will introduce a few more additives.
Another slow week of growth but the roots are starting to show through the bottom of the pots and more leaves are forming. This is where I would be after 1 week of growth but in winter this is as good as it gets. Added a calmag additive and a silica additive to the nutes.
Slow going with this winter weather but nice progress with the roots. Slight increase in nutrient strength this week. I aim to be at full nutrient strength in 2 weeks time.
Plants are starting to look more like they are supposed to look like. As usual with my grows one plant appears to be the runt of the litter, we'll see how she develops as the weeks come along. This week I increased the nutes and will keep these levels for most of the grow from here on.
The weather wasn't as cold this week and the plants are looking better. Nutes are at full strength now, next week I might top the plants. I plan to have a long veg for these girls for a few reasons so we're probably a third of the way into the veg stage.
Weather is slowly starting to heat up with spring starting here so more growth this week. Topped the girls this week and looking to take some cuttings for an outdoor grow in a couple of weeks. One plant is still quite snaller than the others.
Plants are starting to look great, and the weather is getting nicer which means great growth. Topped the girls again for the final time in the grow. Planning a new strategy of a longer veg period this grow and I plan on at least four more weeks of veg, at least until the clones I have taken show roots.
With nice weather we have some good growth this week. The roots on all the plants are getting big and looking very healthy. I removed the 4 biggest fan leaves on each plant to give some light to the bottom branches.
Great week of growth, this week will be the last week of veg before I flip the girls over to flower. Got rid of a few big fan leaves and planning to do a bit more defoliation this week as well as some lollipopping.
Great week of growth and with the clones showing some form of roots its time for the flip. Very happy with how the girls are doing and happy the roots have been healthy all this grow. I plan on an 8 week flower cycle as per breeder instructions.
Girls are looking great, another week of great weather meant good bud formations. This will be the last time I use the liquid flowering additive before going to some kool bloom powder.
The tent is like a James Brown concert, very funky. Trimmed some fan leaves this week and switched to powder kool bloom. I broke the main cola of the biggest plant so had to do some emergency surgery.
Mate you need to switch on both the red and blue spectrum.
Plants react to blue light in a way that makes them think its very intense light they are under so they dont stretch as if you would have applied more red light.
If you wonder why your plants arent growing very tall, then thats why.
If you want them to stretch alot, then you should apply light from the 650 nm spectrum and up - Infrared and basic far red light is good for making plants stretch tall.
Happy growing 😎
Heres a video about blue light that told me everything i needed to know; www.youtube.com/watch
