I was hoping to let this grow on a bit more but damp conditions outside and in my greenhouse said otherwise. I lost a couple buds to mold but hopefully cut it out in time to prevent more. Will update more once dried cured and smoked..

Grow Questions

Sticky1started grow question 4 years ago
Should I start pruning off lower leaves and or secondary bud sites / cola, so the plant concentrates on the main cola I have created with lst? Or do I just let it do it’s own thing for a while at this stage?

I would continue to lst, and light defoliation of big leaves creating shadows.

Based on these photos when is it time to start flushing? Am using biobizz and have heard mixed opinions on whether to flush or not. The buds aren’t quite as big as I was hoping but I think that’s due to it being cloudy for the past 3 weeks.

Thats a lot of white hairs, you got a ways to go. If you want to flush, which I dont suggest you do (https://hightimes.com/grow/new-research-shows-flushing-plants-before-harvest-may-be-unnecessary/), its not time yet.

How about not flushing then and letting them fatten up a bit more?

The only way to tell is the trichomes , but i would wait like even 2 to three more weeks if i have to guess, but again, check the trichomes just to be sure, you're looking for all milky , no clears, few ambers for max THC potency, beyond that you can get some more ambers to "balance" the high, but yeah the main idea is to check the trichomes so that you dont harvest with any of the trichomes clear . Hope this helps ! 🚀

Hey! Harvest window opens when you start getting amber pistils(hairs). Normally when there's 70% amber and 30% white pistils they're ready to start flushing but that's not always the case. The best way to check is looking at the trichomes on the buds with at least a 60x magnifying loupe. Clear trichomes haven't reached their full potency, cloudy ones are full of THC and amber are losing THC while gaining CBN. So depending on your preference whether you want more of a head high or body high. I harvest when after examining and finding 70% cloudy trichomes and 30% amber trichomes. For me that's a prefect combination, depending on the strain as well. Have in mind if you use nutrients you'll need to flush the roots, watering only with PHed water or a flushing product for at least a week. She looks ready but I can’t really see without a close up of the trichomes. Good luck and happy Growing!

I am drying my harvest in my outside shed in the uk - am a little bit worried about moisture and lack of air movement. The shed has no power so cannot use a fan. I will be opening the door up and letting in air daily. What else can I do to prevent mold?
