This can be considered as my first grow. 8 years ago i grew one in a small pot and got about 1 ounce off it. After that, i did another three but only got hermaphros and gave up. Now i got a proper setup and researched as much as I could. I'm not in it too maximise yield, i genuinely think it's one very beautiful plant and enjoys growing it. I look forward to experiencing with all sorts of strains. The research and content on growing is so much more than 8 years ago.
Transplanted a little early in the final pot as i know i will top the plant soon, i wanted it to get use to its environment first. Transplant went well but next time i will plant in the big pot directly. On the day, i used Mycorrhizae to water to encourage root growth and then only water for the entire week.
This has been a busy week, topped the plant, cut off all fan leaves but the two to ones because the branches were still attached to them. Trained the bottom branched with rocks and bending wires. Cut off the two top fan leaves later to allow more light on the plant
Training has been going alright although i noticed the plant is just developing and now growing up. My light was pretty much on recommended height but i went higher at 70cms now. It's just patience now for the next weeks until i can flip.
There has been a lot of changes this week, introduced a humidifier to raise the level of rh. Raised my light higher to 75cms. I reduced nutrients a little bit, i noticed very slight burns. I might be in the sweet spot right now. Then the plant was getting too bushy, for air circulation, i had to defoliate drastically. It's looking good now and leveling up. The method I've used has enabled me to have a leveled canopy. So far so good.
I wanted her to start growing up and this she did, I've had to lower my light slightly. Got too bushy again but this time, i thought I'd give the branches under the canopy an opportunity to reach out, so I cleaned up every top leaves blocking their light. Even that got bushy again and the leaves are almost hiding them again. I think I'm on schedule to flip her at the end of week 8. So far so good, the plant is looking good.
Ending up defoliating every week atm, but this time, i also trained the well established branches wider to allow permanent lights on the small ones. I was planning on flipping this week but those small branches are too small, might be worth giving them a week or two to grow some mass. Any advise would be highly appreciated actually. Size wise toward my tent, i still have a lot of grow space, however, can't wait to flower it as is my first.
Didn't touch the plant this week, it hasn't been growing upwards but buffing up the small branches. I got run off water in the tray immediate after watering this week for the first time. The plant started to produce pre flowers all over and on Sunday, it looked like never before and consuming more water. It was saying to flip it and i did so the following day.
She has started to feed now often and is getting very bushy. Going to have to defoliate anytime but I'm just giving it some time to just grow. It got a full does of nutes last night and it grew exponentially between 1 to 2 cms. Pistils are easily visible everywhere and smell it getting stronger.
I knew i missed the bus when it came to defoliating. I should have done it before flipping. I thought i would leave it bush up for 22 days until the elongation phase is complete but i couldn't resist last night, the hundreds of little heads under the canopy were looking too sad and i felt my overall yield was going to suffer in contrast to recovery time as the plant has bounced back very strongly for the last two defoliations. Anyways, i watered it tonight and it should look wonderful tomorrow, hopefully is recovers fast.
Took me a while to undertake this defoliation last night. But I had to clean it up and prepare for bud formation. I must admit that my plant is a lot smaller than it looks in the pictures but the buds formation looks really good so far. Smell is still very weak but still early.
I'm not doing much to the plant atm apart from simply watering every 3 or 4 days. I must admit that the buds are not really buffing up however the plant is still visibly growing up. I am writing whether I might have defoliated it to much of its fan leaves. What do you think? Or the next few weeks is when the buds starts growing faster?
Plant has been fairly dormant for 2 weeks but when i review the pictures, then i notice a bigger difference, so i stopped taking daily pictures. However, tonight compared to last night has some noticeable differences so it could be picking up again. I just don't know what to expect, last time i did a plant was outdoor and a long time ago. Anyways, another month to go and looking good i think.
Still slowly growing, gave full dose of pk today. The colas seems full of sugar leaves instead of actual buds, could be my inexperience or genetics, not sure. A reminder that this is a regular seed that i got for free, and i have absolutely no information on the genetics other than just the name. Anyways, hopefully i see a few bigger buds formation in the next few weeks.
I think the plant is ready for the flush, however, i haven't received the microscope that i just ordered to make sure. Gonna give it a few more days and then start the flush anyway. I'm not fully satisfied with this strain, i look forward to starting my next one asap. Thanks everyone for following and watching.
Received my microscope a little late and it was ready to be flushed straight away. Plant is smelling very strongly. Another week and harvest time has finally come knocking!!!
Finally the time has arrived, tonight is officially the last one, when the light goes off in the morning, i will leave the plant in the dark for 48hrs and then harvest. Apologies for the few pictures this week but the plant has not really changed. I expected the leaves to go yellow but as you can see, nothing. It might have gotten slightly lighter green but it's hard to tell. So i hope it doesn't taste too harsh. I'll update the post after the plant is all dried up.
Here's an early post, took me at least 4 hours to harvest her. As you can see, i don't remove too much of the sugar leaves, i like keeping some as they are covered of trichomes. I think i got a much higher yield than i thought i would, the plant was looking small. I will update with the dried weight when it's ready but i suspect u should be in the 100 grams. The smell is intoxicating, I'm glad with the grow, great outcome.
Edit: took about 5 days only to dry, very surprised. Put them in the dark, fan not blowing in it and humidity in 50%. Everyone said 2 weeks at least. Anyways, weighted at 100 grams. The stuff is smooth as air but I'm not sure about the high. I someone wonder whether I'm high or not? I suspect the cbd side must be very strong. Anyway, started second plan, day one start tomorrow morning i suspect. Thanks for following everyone, it was fun
Edit 2: this strain is no good. I'm not sure what effect is expected from cbd but it's also expected to have some serious thc but I'm left questioning myself all the time whether I'm high. This was a free seed and i was experimenting but if thc power is what you are after, then this is no good. Also, not sure what happened but tried a big bud this week and such a harsh smoke in vape. Anyways, loads of lesson learnt for my next grow. Coming online soon.
