My stealh growspace is only 55cmx55cm, so I had to modify the tent I bought. Cutting down the length of the aluminium bars, making the tent a little loose. The hardest part was bending the top bars precisely, to fit the new and smaller frame. Did it with a hammer, a candle and some pliers (and a friend), which worked out fine.
All Gear:
GHE FloraTrio (micro, bloom, gro)
airstone and JBL ProSilent a400 water pump (using both outlets for les bubbles maximal, tu comprend?!)
300m^2/h ventilation w/ carbonfilter
Viparspectra v450
Small fan
Demineralised water
(No humidty or temp control this first grow(except for vent and fan))
First week, germinated by planting the seed directly into my medium(hydroton pellets) with the water bubbling right beneath, creating a very humid and oxygenated environment.
Not the most effective way of germinating, but it worked, and I think I might keep doing that. Also, no training whatsoever (which I'm NOT going to continue doing). Next grow I'll use LST to control the plants height and light penetration, which both became a problem this grow.
This was my first grow, so everything was pure experimentation, since I found that there is SO much misinformation on the interwebs. After finishing this grow, I learned that googling for answers about your plants health, is like googling for answers about your own health; you most likely end up blatantly misdiagnosing your situation. Keep things simple, the plant will tell you if it needs something.
Also, google scholar helped out a lot, if u like reading.
Third weed I started feeding, which was a little too early since the plant had not consumed all of the nutrients from the seed. I ended up with nuteburn... Though the grow was still going fine so far.
I didn't take many pictures beyond this point, but I'll see if I can fill in the gaps. Everything was going alright, but resevoir temperature was not perfect at all. Next time I'll focus os maintaining a cool and consistent water temp.
Because of the water temp, root rot was slowly but surely creeping up on me. I bought drugstore hydrogen peroxide, which Is alright, as long as it doesn't contain Acetanilide or other stabiliziing agent. But the one I bought did, and I didn't even look at the bottle to check... don't know why I was in such a hurry, and as you see, my plant did not enjoy that.
I flushed for 24h, and then fixed up a new nutrient batch (10L demineralised water mixed with 2-3L tap water), and luckily the plant came back strong right into flowering.
Acetanilide breaks down several proteins found in the plant cell. Thanks google scholar!
Early flowering, this time around everythin was going perfect. Readings were stabile, and I was a lot more focused on maintaining cool water temp.
Sadly not a lot of photos.
Plant growing way too tall for my tent. No room for the lights. Cant wait to see what effect LST will have on this strain, and how I can optimize my future yields.
Plant is in full flowering mode, and already getting some nice floral notes from the buds. Loving this strain, but the height is becoming a problem. LST next time!
Also I switched to 24h light in the last couple of weeks. No reason for darkness when you're dealing with autos.
everything going well, but my readings kept rising. I ended up underfeeding in the last week and a half, which hurt my yield, but heck I learned something.
Strain is good, very nice citrus and flower notes after drying. Right after chopping the crop, and hanging it to dry, it actually smelled like mango for like 4-5 days. If you know the yellow Solero ice cream, then you know whats up.
Not the most dense nugs, but my temps were also on the high side, and I underfed during flowering (and no training). I'll stick to fast buds genetics for my next grow as well. I need to have a run with the Blackberry Kush Auto.
