Swiss Cheese 2 is a runt. Nowhere near the size of the others. Lemon Pie is doing very well.

Lemon pie autos are doing amazingly well. That cheese is super disappointing but i'll ride it out. The others seem happy.

I don't really feel like nutrient discussion is that helpful so i'm gonna leave it out for now. I'm following general guidelines of no nutrients in ffof until week 4. I've added a little calmag, grow big, and big bloom at about 1/5 concentration on Day 22 and LSTd the big lemon pie and the Tangie since they seemed actually possible to LST. The others don't have the branches for it yet.

Left for 5 days and got back to see that the girls have exploded into flower for the most part. Some signs of nutrient burn on all the new growth, so I guess today I'll flush the pots out at least a little, then resume nutrients at 1/4th strength in like a week. One thing I have yet to figure out is an auto schedule for fox farm trio. I was thinking that i'd basically switch to only tiger bloom in like a week. I don't know, whatever, they seem to be doing well anyway.

I got a pretty low wattage blurple LED panel from a friend who bought it a while ago for like $200. Oh how times have changed; pretty sure this one is realistically worth about $10-15 new based upon the wattage only. I'm going to hang it but leave it off for the remainder of the grow and let the cxp420 do its thing. I bought some additional cheap linear blurple lighting for flowering next grow to go along with my friends panel. Wish i had the $$$ for some side lighting cobs! I did a 1/4th feeding following the transition period of the ff trio guide. The girls seem to be ok with it. I think the big lemon pie is kinda pissed off and root bound or something because she is in droop mode with and without water. the tangie has lost its mind and is flowering hard. the small lp and ph are doing well, with a nice looking main forming on the ph. the cheese runt is runting. Don't really think there's anything to be too concerned about other than the droopy lp, but i'm not transplanting it, so it'll have to do for now. otherwise... no idea. first time. things seem relatively good and the smells and buds are very nice.

Nothing's really changed. Tangie is frosting up. They aren't getting much bigger or swelling. Hopefully soon. Upped the feed to help with that maybe.

Tangie is getting fat now and is super frosty. Added blurples because why not. Lowered nutes slightly because i thought they got a little burn last time.

seems to be some nute burn or calmag issues on the 5g lemon pie. Will try flushing all plants with straight tap water to see if that helps. If it doesn't improve I will water with a big dose of calmag. Otherwise things are looking good. Tangie pistils are shriveling. Maybe 50% white left. No visible amber. Bought a usb microscope because i can't really hold the loupe steady enough.

Heavy yellowing on all the ladies except the runt. I think I screwed up the nutrients a little earlier on and caused some lock out and other issues. Tangie seems about ready so she will be harvested any day now even though I don't see much amber except on the sugar leaves and in the cracks. Still, too much yellowing now. The 5g lemon pie is really messed up sadly. Not sure how she's gonna make it another week with losing many fan leaves and sugar leaves to burnt yellowing lock out. I might give them a little bit of nutes to get them all the way through because they don't seem done yet compared to the Tangie (which looks like pics on the web, and trichomes seem to be cloudy).

I am super happy with this baby for my first grow and harvest. Smells great, looks great, tastes great. Still needs to cure, but already amazing. What else to say? I'm on top of the world!

Runt. Basically not worth the time. It was almost all leaf. Annoying to trim, so most will be butter. Maybe next time with this strain.

I really enjoyed growing this one because I've always wanted a purple haze. However... no purple to really speak of, but some buds dried out to a nice dark green.

The smell originally smelled really weird, like chinese food, but is now very strong like anise and something else.

Both of these were easy to grow and produced some very nice plants. Topped one of them and it didn't even blink. They were both great yields with the 5 gal pot at 123g and the 3 gal at 76g not counting about 1 oz of trim each. Proves to me that 5 gallon is hands down the way to go if not more. Looking at the roots of all the plants, I don't see how people say that they won't grow much more if you give them more pot. More pot would definitely give more. Topping gives more and isn't a bad idea for strong plants so long as it's done early (mine was day 16). I've learned a ton!

Flushed the girls and did more LST on the big LP and Tangie. Noticed more nutrient burn and possibly calmag deficiency on the small LP. They still look good for the most part otherwise and are starting to really stink.

What size extraction fan are you using ? I'd say it was an airflow issue that has crispenend your leaves , nevertheless a good flush and they will be fine !!! 👍
BigDaddyK
BigDaddyKcommented8 years ago
@dnb4ever, it's normally heat that crispens the leaves , wind burn might only be an issue if they got too dry - when I grew 4 plants it was an issue , now I do 2 at a time I never have it 👍 My advice get some fast buds gorilla glue seeds , these are so potent and easy to grow ,and rarely show deficiencies- also I'd pull of the dead leaves so the buds get more light 👌🏽

@BigDaddyK, I've got a 6" at full speed and an oscillating fan pretty close to them. Could it be wind burn?

Did you use a fox farm soil as well?
dnb4ever
dnb4evercommented8 years ago
@Kitmisfit, Yep, fox farms ocean forest with about 30% perlite added based upon suggestions.

The tangie is pretty much done in my opinion. the usb microscope was delayed, but i guess it won't hurt to let it go. the range is 70-80 days and i'm at day 67 or so. thinking about maybe sunday or monday for a cut down day. the cheese is just confusing to me because it's so dang small. i should probably just cut it too. the others are much further behind; still mostly white pistils straight out, not too chunky like i feel they should be looking, similar to how the tangie developed over time. first grow, so still getting a feel for the growth.
dnb4ever
dnb4evercommentedweek 78 years ago
My gf said I should just add the crappy blurples since they probably won't do much anyway, they're just sitting around, and she wants more bud if possible. Guess I can't beat that logic. So, there are some in the tent now.

Just catching up the log here. 1 Purple Haze never popped. 1 Swiss Cheese fell over, presumably due to overwatering and stretching. I started the light out high and dim, but quickly realized this was causing them to stretch. Moved light down.
the end.
