This seed had a rocky start. I had left it germinating in the paper towel too long, and it grew through it. The tap root went through one way and the seed the other, both through multiple layers of paper towel. So I had to manually remove it by tearing away the towel to free the seedling. Then I put it in a little plastic pot with some pebbles in the bottom (I've since learned not to do that) and some leftover peat from a bonsai kit. I didn't bury the entire thing because I thought the seed part should be sticking out. It was like at least an inch long at this point in an "s" shape. Anyway, I left the seed part sticking out and planted it. Threw it outside in direct sun after a couple days. I was giving it tap water, trying not to overwater, but not testing ph. I have since bought a tester and realized the tap is around 7.9.

It got really hot and humid this week. I did what I could to mitigate it but also wanted it to be getting enough sun. I was trying to shade the pot as much as possible. It's just not really growing the way I expected it to be.

Day 18 PM was when I started ph'ing the water. It had been getting 7.9 this whole time. Now I aim for around 6.5 or so. I also gave it a baby dose of Fox Farms Big Bloom. It seems a little small but looks ok otherwise so I'm trying to be patient. I'll be repotting it in a 1 gallon with Happy Frog soil, so hopefully that'll give it the boost it needs.

Finally getting some growth after 3-4 weeks. Transplanted into a 1 gallon fabric pot (vivosun?) with Happy Frog soil mixed with some perlite. Added a little Grow Big to the mix, but I'm starting it off slow, not full doses. It seems to like its new home and medium. I'm stoked that it's picked up the pace a little. It just makes it a bit more exciting to see new growth. It was coming in with purple tips or edges for a little while and that was kinda freaking me out. It seems to have stopped since then.

Some of the new growth has been coming in purple. Is this something I should be worried about?

Hello Sometimes that red or pink tinged growth can symbolize over watering and root bound...which could be possible, but more in the way of adjusting to being transplanted, sometimes the new environment of a big pot that's very moist and the roots re-situating can bring funny symptoms. I think this color is just temporary though, let her fill in and relax and i expect the leaves will grow out to a green color over the next week. Happy growing. ✌️

Overall it's doing much better than it was prior to this week. I think altering the water ph and throwing it in a bigger pot with nice soil with occasional nutrients helped. I attempted a FIM job but it didn't work. I think I needed to cut off more than I did, because the result was nothing more than a pair of chopped leaves. It grew a new set of leaves as if I hadn't FIMed it at all.

Why are there droplets all over the edges of the leaves? This happened shortly after FIMing in the PM, and they were still there in the morning. I had also watered the plant but not on the leaves. Condensation from humidity? Or is this a stress excretion? Something else? Thanks!

condensation. As the temperature drops during the night, humidity condenses on the leaves.

What effect will outdoor motion-sensor lights have on a plant if they turn on periodically during the night? Could this be stunting the plant (it seems short for 1 month)? Preventing flowering? This is likely just for a few minutes at a time whenever an animal walks by. Thanks

Hey mate, Hard to say. But what I can say is that if you mess up the light cycle often, the ladies won't appreciate it. In my first run I had a defective time switch, 2 out of 3 turned into hermies. Idk how bright this light is and how much it'll influence your grow, but I'm convinced it will. Good luck and happy trails for the rest of the way! Cheerz OimRausch

Nutes- If I mix up a gallon batch (fox farm grow big and big bloom) but only use half of that gallon, can I save the rest for the next feeding, which might be a week later? Also, is it ok if the jug is left outside where it will get sun, or will this ruin the nutrients?

Hey Mate, I wouldn't want to do that If I were you. Ask your Nute-Producer for the durability of the products you use... they should know best. If you do store it, then I would choose a dark and cool place for it. Hope this helps a bit, cheerz. OimRausch

I wanted to get some training going on this plant, and my FIM attempt the week before did not work. So, I tried to FIM it again and failed a second time lol. It was planted so late in the season that I figured I needed to just get it topped asap. I probably would have bothered and treated it more like an autoflower because it should be quick to flower, but its my first plant and im trying to experiment with different techniques. After topping it, I used some training wire to start some LST. Humidity levels were pretty nuts this week hanging out around 90.

It seems to be responding pretty well to the topping and training. It was off to a slow start but it's coming along

They feast on many pests that affect the plant, so if you have one there, great.
