Twenty to One Odds

Well, its been a great week! While i was cleaning out the barn on the 24th i came across the box i usually use as a chick brooder and had a brain wave! See, I don't really have anywhere to put these in the garden right now and I really wanted to get them out of the plastic pots. I have an area by the house that used to be my herb garden and also where I kept my first grow in the beginning. I dismantled it earlier this summer but there's still open areas of soil and wood chips so I put the box down there. I also took 3 support hoops and attached deer netting with clothespins to keep any interested wildlife out. I filled it with some homemade compost and a partial bag of Pro Mix BX someone gave me that has been sitting in the barn for a year. The Pro Mix BX contains mycorrhizae and biofungicide, so hopefully that will help later on when we get damp and cold weather in September since these were started a bit later than I would have liked. I'll be curious to see if it actually does make a difference, since I still got a little mold on the CBD Crack 1:1's I did last year, but really just on the bushier, more indica phenotype. If they do well with it then I will most likely use it in future grows since I always have issues with mold when these plants are finishing up, it just goes with the territory, everyone I know who grows outdoors up here does. I'm planning on putting a clear tomato roof over these like I did with my grow last year which definitely cuts down on the bulk of it but there's still the issue of caterpillars getting in there and pooping up a storm. Gross😩 and another good reason to wash! I did put them down lower in the soil again and they seemed to like it just fine. That's why even though they've grown quite a bit this last week the height hasn't really changed in the "Conditions" section. The soil in the pots was still wet so I didn't even water. Every day since then they have been growing before my very eyes! I'm really happy with their progress. Fastbuds says "You’ll need to work fast as she’s a rapid one." and I can see that. They also say this strain is a hungry one and to keep them well fed, but for right now they have all they need. Yesterday I gave them their first topping but I'll include that in next week's post!
