Hey Everybody :) I'm a First Time Grower on a short Budget. I more or less stumbled over two beautiful clones of Gorilla Zkittlez with no preperation done on the topic of growing. So I just started sitting them into a glass of tap water to see what is possible if I deal with no pro setup, but instead try to get the information right and give the girls enough time :) A few days later the first roots started to spread out. Purerly white and healthy looking. But soon I could recognize a slowing down of the roots splitting and recognized leaves starting to yellow. After reading about the topic of possible nutrient lockouts due to pH issues I found out about the tap water in my city beeing at around 7.5pH. So i tryed fixing the numbers by changing the water and adding some lemon juice. The deficiency sings did not spread further, but on one of the girls the speed root growth was thrown back. I rooted the clones on my desk with little direct sunlight and was able to get 4 15W grow leds at 4000K for the Veg by a friend. Since I got an good deal for a Driver, the plan is to upgrade to an DIY setup with 288 Samsung LM301b 3500K at max 150W later on. After 3 weeks from cutting the better recovered had developed an impressive root system and i noticed first sings of new growth on her top, so it was time to think about soil. I settled for 11l bags to go with first and then, since I'm planning on a long veg time, migrating to 39l. For soil i mixed BioBizz lightmix with 1/3 coco coir and added roughly half a teaspoon of the Myko Powder. The powder was also added to the planting bed into that i transferred the clone. I soaked the soil in plain water since the pH of the coco was at 5.5 and i wanted to get a bit higher to give the fungi better conditions to work. The plant lived in well and grew wider every day with no sings of over or underwatering for 10 days. At this day (Day11) I gave the plant its first watering with 250ml of water + 0,25ml/L BioBizz Grow + some Myko Powder. I saw that the clone had developed a second top at the frist branch so i gently bend down the dominant one to allow it to catch up. On the same day I put the other lady in her bag too, because the roots showed a little browning the days before. But i was in a hurry and and it happend.. I broke the biggest root near the stem 💩 I fully realized this the next day and in an attempt to save her i putted her in a smaller pot to have better control over humidity of the soil. She started showing small sings of recovery the next day, but I'm not sure if i will be able to rescue her... But there are good news from the other girl 😌 She's looking very healthy and today (Day15), 4 days after the last watering i gave her another 250ml of water+ lemon juice (not a long term solution but I'm not really sure yet what else to use). I also gave her the first real training by tying down the dominant top. I plan on topping it back in the next weeks and eventually take the clone to replace the other lady. That's it for now. Have already been learning a lot from the experiences the community is sharing so every comment is welcomed, like i said this is my first grow and its a rocky journey :D

This Week started out good :) The 'broken lady' reacted fast to foilar feeding and already started recovering. (cut my feeding dose of Bio Grow down by half for this) (Day 17) The big one responded very well to her first training so I decided to take it even further and grab her by the neck while still felxible. I'm not sure if thats too close to the newly developing leaves... Also one of her fan leaves is touching the bag.. Maybe this is a problem too? .. but I hope as soon as the top is searching light again this problem will solve itself. *-edit- did solve itselfe :D* (Day 18) Gave her another feeding of 300ml tap water + a little BioGrow + lemon juice for pH and at last some of the myko powder. Increased the amount of water slightly since the soil was drying out quicker than before (3 days this time VS 4 days last feeding) All your comments are welcomed, I have a lot to learn and your experience is the best way to do so :) Big up, lets keep growing 😎

Hi there :) Seeking a little advice from you guys :P I'm thinking about cutting off the mid nodes of my girls dominant stem to give the other ones more space later on as i branch them out. Is this a good idea or is there enough space between them already? Thanks for your help :)

Hello So i think with your lst that will help open things up...and i personally would avoid pinching off some of the budsites so close to the top. I would watch its growth patterns a little longer before you start spacing things out. At the moment they look decently spaced and being a photoperiod there's not much rush to do this.

(Day22) The big ladys tops are growing constantly :) I try to give them all as much light as possible by constant LST. Gave another feeding today (~300ml) with slightly raised nutrient level, some citric acid and this time without myko powder. (I plan on feeding it every second time) Growth speed is constantly rising 😊 very curious on how she will develop further (Day11) The small one had a long recovering process, but is now showing new growth and is looking healthy again. She also got watered today (~200ml) but without nutes since I made good experiences on starting out very low with her sister. Because of her almost symmetrical grow pattern so far I'm thinking about training her more in the direction of mainlining (topping relatively early and then start LST) and compare both techniques for me (Day26) Gave another watering ~350ml, this time again with mykos. She's getting thirsty 😋 Growing speed is decent in my eyes 😊 Thinking on topping her in the next days to let the other nodes catch up a little. The little girl got no further treatment this week All your comments and opinions are welcomed, there is a lot to learn from you guys. Big up, keep growing further 😎

Week is going well for the girls but I'm a bit worried about the heat thats going on here right now since I dont really have anything to counter this atm.. 😐 Little Girl: (Day20) Repotted the little girl into the 11l bag since its roots began to stick out of the little one. gave her ~250ml of tab water with a little citric acid and mycos. Did not notice since of stress 😌 (Day23) Another watering ~200ml with little nutes. Will begin topping her as soon as the next node is developing. Trying to compare HSTs on her with the LST of the other one. Big Lady: (Day30) The big lady got another watering ~350ml, BioGrow + citric acid. Been increasing the amount of water now every other feeding. Got a small snapping while rolling the second tops stem.. gave her a little recovery time before continuing LST. (Day33) Another watering ~400ml. Had a big LST session today trying to get a little structure back to the jungle 😋 Nutrients are still at a very low level, have been thinking about increasing them a little as well. Is this even necessary if shes not showing any deficiencies? I ran into a thrip problem this week 😰 Got some good advice from the community on how to treat them. Thank you guys!!😘 Will try 'Amblyseius' if the problem continues. Unfortunately its way too hot in my area right now and sellers told me it would be likely they dont survive transportation.. Since I wanted to act fast I rely on a Pyrethin product for the moment since it was the only one I was able to get my hands on today. Neem Oil is on the way too. Planing on using them in rotation so the bugs dont develop any tolerance. (Day25/35) Sprayed the Pyrethin on both plants and removed the clover to avoid hiding spots for the Thrips.. lets hope for the best.. As always all your thoughts and comments are welcomed 😊 I'm a little unsure on how to continue with the big lady in the next weeks.. I've been a little busy the last weeks, but trying to give at least two updates per week. Big up, keep growing 😎

I think I'm having a problem with Thrips😓 spotted little markings the last days and saw a tiny white nymph yesterday😨 What can you recommend to use against? Have been reading about Neem-Oil and Pyrethin since I need to treat soil as well wich is better for plant and microbes?

You could use "Amblyseius swirskii" these are predatpry nutes which get rid of the thrips. Or Neem Oil, or Potassium Soaps should also do the job. Best of Luck.. Cheerz🤘 OimRausch

After spraying against the Thrips end of last week the girls kept growing nicely and looked quit happy in my eyes. Hope I've detected those little sucking insects fast enough to counter them. Time will show 🙌🙌 Delayed the watering on both since I dont wanted the Pyrethrin to get soaked to deep into the soil. Also cutted regular water amount ~1/2 and will water more often for the next 2 times. (Pyrethrin is disintegrated in ~ 3 Days) Nevertheless I kept my fitness plan up and started the week with some training Little Girl: (Day 27) Since she kept growth up I decided to top her down to second node like planed. Watered ~150 ml afterwards. Big Lady: (Day 37) Gave her another update on the LST and gave her some clearer structure. Removed the gardening wires from soil and attached them to clips on the bag. I will shave her a little at the end of the week if the Thrips dont do more damage and growth keeps up 😏 Gaver her a watering afterwards ~200ml Realized the Kelps NPK in my Mycorrhizal powder (NPK 1/0/4) so I will keep feeding low doses of Bio Grow. Lets hope for the best with the bug issue. Your thoughts and comments are appreciated 😊 Week just started out, will give another update. Big UP, grow grow 😎

Not sure whats going on? Heat stress, Thrip related, too little nutes or water? Noticed a slight curling yesterday and guessed on thirst since watering was delayed and then gave just half dose. Also heatwave going on right now. Nutes are at very low levels..

I am 100% sure it is from the heatwave but you had given a lil too much N too, but not critically, major damage was by heatwave

the last months were some packed for me so I could not keep up the diary.. there was a lot going on with the girls. heat stress + thrips stunted the girls growth for a good time. also I think the light was not powerful enough to support their needs.. but I switched it ~2 weeks ago (288 lm301h DIY currently at 110W) they seem to love it 😍 at the same day the got into the final home wich will be refined the next weeks :P Little Girl showed strong grow after topping and is now, in my opinion the stronger one. she developed 4 "main" stems and some secondarys. the Big ladys recovery from the stress I putted them through was slower and she did not develop her second "main" stem as I hoped so she is a bit streched in one direction 😅 but both plants seem strong and resilliant.. 3 weeks ago I started HST by "craking" the stems in the Kyle Kushman manner. since then I do it once a week with stems that developed strong enough. 2 weeks ago I lollipoped both since I plan to put them into flower in the next week 😇 I putted Little Girl in a 35L pot and repotted Big Lady into her old 11L pot (filled it fully this time) last week are these 11L pots undersized? I'm glad I gave them enough time to recover from all the stress they had, stumbled upon growweedeasy (great side packed with knowledge for my first grow) and the help I got by the community 😘 Leave your comments I still have a lot to learn and a long way to go, so they will be appreachiated. Big Up, Grow Grow 😛

We are in early Week 6 of flowering now and in my eyes the Girls are coming along just fine. They stretched out quit a bit and nearly doubled in size in the first weeks after switching. Also, they started smelling like Fanta with a slight note cheese and began to fattening up. Love it! 😍 Defoliated at 3 and 5 Weeks into flowering but kept it relatively conservative since this is my first time growing. So I manly removed the leafs in the budding canopy which were shadowing the budsites below and kept all leaves below that were still getting some light. Ran into a nitrogen deficiency (leafs became pale lime in color) the last weeks and upped my nutrients. The smaller girl has already fully recovered while the bigger one is still showing a little discoloration, but she is on her way too 😎 All in all I'm stunned on how this first grow is developing 😌 Should I do anything more with them or just maintain things until harvest? Big Up, keep growing! 😎😎

It#s Day 51 of flower and we are coming along just fine 😋 One of the girls already shows around 20% of brown pistils so I will start flushing soon! Smell is not overwhelming but delicious 😍 Can't wait to try them out! Big Up, keep growing 😎
